Mike was calling the action at a furious pace.
On the court, the game continued.
"Clang!"
Blake missed another three, drawing a helpless groan from the crowd.
But George flew in and secured the crucial offensive rebound.
"Whoosh!"
He kicked it back out.
Right back to Blake.
Blake had just missed two straight threes, but George still trusted him completely. At a moment like this, there was no one else he trusted more than the leader of this team.
"Bang, bang, bang!"
Blake controlled the ball on the left side above the arc.
He narrowed his eyes, showing no frustration whatsoever despite the two consecutive misses.
He slowed down just slightly.
As LeBron and Wade closed in...
"Whoosh!"
Blake passed again, finding Curry on the right wing.
Was he afraid to shoot?
Not at all.
Out of the corner of his eye, Blake had already seen Curry waiting in perfect shooting position.
Curry had the better look.
And Blake believed Stephen Curry would make it.
"Whoosh!"
Curry caught the pass and fired the wide-open three.
When Blake wasn't on the floor, Curry had struggled badly.
But with Blake back beside him, his confidence had returned.
This one?!
"Swish!"
Straight through.
Curry buried the clutch three off Blake's assist, cutting what had been a nine-point deficit to six!
Heat ball.
Fifty seconds remained.
"King James" LeBron brought the ball up while George picked him up full court.
The Suns were sticking to the same approach.
Pressure him first and look for the steal.
If that failed, foul.
"Whoosh!"
LeBron accelerated across half court.
Blake slid over immediately.
The Suns' two best defenders suddenly converged on LeBron, trapping him and trying to force the turnover.
"Whoosh!"
LeBron didn't hesitate.
He fired the ball out.
"Smack!"
Wade caught it on the right wing.
Dragić was in front of him, but Wade barely acknowledged him.
One explosive step and he was past him.
"Thud!"
Curry rotated over.
"Whoosh!"
But "Flash" Wade didn't care.
He powered straight into Curry's defense, attacked the rim, took off for the layup, then twisted in midair to avoid Frye's block.
"Swish!"
As he came down, Wade banked the ball high off the glass and in.
It was an extremely difficult finish.
But "Flash" Wade made it anyway, pushing the Heat's lead from six back to eight.
40.2 seconds remained.
Curry quickly inbounded from the baseline.
George caught the ball and sprinted up the floor at full speed, covering the length of the court in a few huge strides before immediately passing to Blake on the left wing.
Blake caught it a full meter behind the three-point line.
"Whoosh!"
He didn't even hesitate.
With Bosh standing right in front of him, Blake rose and fired another deep three.
Yes.
After missing two straight threes just moments earlier, Blake still pulled the trigger without the slightest hesitation.
"What?!"
Bosh was stunned.
The shot came so suddenly.
He clearly hadn't expected Blake to dare launch another one from that far out.
He hurried to contest it, but he was already too late.
"Whoosh..."
The ball flew through the air like an arrow released from a bow.
Then it dropped straight through the net.
"Swish!"
Good!
"Wow!"
"Blake finally gets one to fall from three! The Suns have cut the deficit to five!
"But this is still incredibly difficult.
"There are only 35 seconds left!"
"Beep! Beep!"
Spoelstra called timeout.
A timeout?
Yes.
One made three from Blake was enough for Coach Spoelstra to stop the game immediately.
That was how dangerous Blake was from deep.
Spoelstra was clearly worried that one three might turn into a barrage.
The Heat players, however, thought their coach was being overly cautious.
Thirty-five seconds left.
A five-point lead.
And most importantly, they still had possession.
How could they possibly lose?
What would it even take?
"Haha!"
At this point, even LeBron couldn't keep himself from smiling.
He looked at Wade and laughed.
"Man, all that work wasn't for nothing.
"We're about to win the championship."
"Yeah."
Wade smiled and nodded.
"Congratulations on your first championship."
"Congratulations to us. The Heat are about to become champions!"
"CB4" Bosh joined them as well, forcing his way into the conversation and laughing alongside LeBron and Wade.
They were already enjoying the feeling of victory.
During the timeout, the Heat had clearly begun celebrating early.
"Boooo!"
The Suns fans hated what they were seeing and responded with the loudest boos they could muster.
But deep down, even they felt helpless.
Because given the situation, the Suns really did seem headed for defeat.
Thirty-five seconds remaining.
The Heat led by five and had possession.
It looked as though the championship was already theirs.
But the game wasn't over.
The Suns still hadn't given up.
And neither had "The Emperor" Blake after his return.
"Beep! Beep!"
The timeout ended.
Heat ball.
LeBron inbounded from the baseline.
Wade caught the pass.
The instant the ball touched his hands, Dragić rushed straight at him.
"Beep! Beep!"
The whistle sounded.
An intentional foul by the Suns.
Wade went directly to the free-throw line.
There wasn't enough time left to let the Heat burn the clock.
"Swish!"
"Swish!"
Wade made both.
The lead was back to seven with 33.1 seconds remaining.
But now the ball belonged to the Suns.
Curry inbounded quickly.
"Smack!"
Blake caught it in the frontcourt and immediately took off at full speed.
He was racing the clock.
Not even a fraction of a second could be wasted.
He sprinted across midcourt and reached the left side above the arc.
"Skrrt!"
Still nearly two meters behind the three-point line...
"Whoosh!"
Blake pulled up again.
Another ultra-deep three.
LeBron, not far away, knew Blake had to shoot.
He knew it had to be a three.
But he still didn't sell out on the contest.
First, Blake was ridiculously far from the basket. There was no guarantee he would make it.
Second, even if he did, so what?
After Wade's two free throws, a made three would only cut one point off the previous margin.
The Suns still had almost no chance.
Would it go in?!
In the stands, Yoona and Mia Quinn clasped hands tightly, watching anxiously as the ball traced a beautiful arc through the air.
Then came the crisp sound.
"Swish!"
Nothing but net.
"It's good!"
Mia Quinn and Yoona threw their clasped hands into the air in celebration.
"Great shot!"
Yi Jianlian jumped to his feet.
Even Yao Ming could barely remain seated, clapping repeatedly.
"Beautiful, Blake! That three to save time was huge!"
At the commentary table, Van Gundy exclaimed, "Blake is racing against the clock!
"Another ultra-deep three!
"That's two straight from long range, and the Suns have cut the deficit to four!
"Never underestimate the heart of a champion!
"25.6 seconds remain.
"Do the Suns actually have a chance to come back?!"
"Yes!"
Mike Breen shouted excitedly.
"'The Emperor' Blake is back, and he still refuses to give up!
"He's racing against time, using one deep three after another to drag the Suns back into this game!
"But can he actually pull it off?!"
