Chapter 71 - Chapter 71 Snatching People

"Hey! What are you guys doing?" Polliver spread his hands and yelled at the few vicious-looking guys, "Don't scare the little brother."

The arrogant soldiers immediately lost their arrogance and stopped, but they glared at Gendry with a warning look in their eyes.

when!

Gendry swung the hammer again and struck the iron billet.

This was his response to Polliver and the others.

"Hehehe, little brother, what would it take for you to stop?" Polliver asked in a fawning tone, his smile obsequious.

when!

It was another skillful and perfect strike.

"Hey, young man, this isn't a good way to solve the problem," Polliver said in a low voice. "I'm a nice guy who's easy to talk to, and I have a kind heart, but if my superiors come in person, they'll tear this place down." Polliver spoke with the wariness of someone telling a close friend a secret that couldn't be shared with outsiders. He glanced around, as if afraid of being overheard.

Gendry got goosebumps all over.

Why does this guy always talk so close to me?

Gendry swung the hammer again, smashing it accurately onto the iron billet with a resounding clang. The neurotic fellow once again deftly dodged the hammer's trajectory, and as soon as it fell, he nimbly moved closer, his eyes fixed on Gendry's muscles like those of someone eyeing a delicious cat. He occasionally licked his lips, as if savoring something.

Gendry felt a chill run down his spine.

He stopped swinging the hammer and said sullenly, "Only my master can make me stop."

call!

The hammer swung in a wide arc again!

when!

The hammer slammed down again. The iron billet trembled under the heavy blow.

"Oh, I understand." Polliver smiled politely, then turned to his men and shouted, "What are you all standing there for? Go and drag his master out."

"Yes, Knight!"

Several soldiers, like wolves and tigers, immediately rushed through a door.

Bang!

The soldier at the front kicked the door open.

Bang bang bang!

Several people walked quickly up the stairwell, their footsteps hurried.

This is a three-story building.

The bottom floor is the blacksmith's shop. The two floors above it are: the second floor is Master Tob's living quarters, and the small attic on the third floor is Gendry's bedroom.

"What are you doing?!" Gendry exclaimed in surprise.

He had seen many vicious mercenaries, but he had never seen anyone dare to break into the second floor of Tob.

This is King's Landing. No matter whose servant you are, very few dare to cause trouble on Steel Street. Tob the Blacksmith is not someone to be trifled with. And if trouble breaks out, the Drunken King is even more dangerous. Although the King loves wine and women and neglects state affairs, he is genuinely good to his people.

"Hey!" Polliver grinned. "Little brother, what weapons do you know?"

Whoosh!

Polliver drew the dagger from his waist.

The short knife was bright, and the blade reflected the red glow of the furnace, clearly a finely crafted knife made from good iron.

"What are you going to do?" Gendry bulged his arm muscles and raised the hammer.

"Is your weapon a hammer?" Polliver licked his lips. "Excellent. Come on, if you can hit me once, I'll let you go tonight."

call out!

Polliver's knife was incredibly sharp; he slashed Gendry's arm with a single stroke.

The sharp sensation of the blade slicing across the skin of his arm ignited a surge of anger within him.

call!

Gendry swung his hammer in a wide arc, aiming to smash it down on Polliver's waist.

Polliver is tall, and a horizontal smash is an easy way to hit him.

Polliver couldn't duck to dodge, as the entire area hit by the sweeping hammer was within range of his attack.

However, Gendry's angry strike missed its mark; his opponent's agility exceeded his expectations.

Polliver leaped backward, as agile as a wolf, and Gendry's hammer grazed his body, just missing him by a hair's breadth.

Gendry's hammer hadn't been pulled back yet—the hammer was heavy and had great inertia; once swung in a wide arc, it was impossible to stop mid-strike—Polliver nimbly dodged the hammer, appearing in front of Gendry in a single step. He calmly stabbed Gendry's arm again with his knife, stopping just short of breaking a bone. "Kid, let's make a bet. If you can't touch me ten times in a row, you'll have to come with me."

Gendry was stabbed again, and his stubborn temper flared up. He swung the hammer around and smashed it into Polliver's chest.

Gendry realized that his opponent was skilled with a knife, agile, and highly proficient in martial arts, so he dared not hold back and attacked with all his might.

Polliver saw it clearly, chuckled, and dodged to the side as the hammer came crashing down, causing it to miss again.

"One!" Pollifer laughed.

He could tell that this young man was strong, coordinated, and agile, but it was obvious that he had never learned any real combat skills.

Polliver swung his knife backhand, without even looking, and sliced Gendry in the chest.

He would always pull back as soon as the knife touched his body, unwilling to let Gendry get seriously injured.

Whoosh!

Gendry landed three blows in a row, but his opponent easily dodged them all, leaving several more bloody gashes on his body.

When Polliver shouted six, Gendry yelled, "Wait a minute!"

Both men were honest men. Polliver stopped, and Gendry dropped his hammer, rushed to the wall, and took a battle axe from it.

Polliver's eyes lit up with admiration as he said, "Excellent, excellent. The battle axe is lighter than the hammer, which means you can be faster than before. The handle of the battle axe is also longer, so I need to be further away from you to dodge. It will be much more difficult to hit you again."

With two whooshing sounds, Gendry charged at Polliver with his battle axe, his speed indeed much faster than before. Polliver desperately dodged, his short sword clashing and being knocked away with a clang.

Gendry's brute strength is truly a well-established skill!

Polliver laughed heartily.

Gendley, in a fit of temper, unleashed a powerful tomahawk strike.

Polliver dodged behind a pillar, and with a crash, the pillar of the blacksmith's shop was struck, swaying and making a cracking sound.

"Sir Knight, what are you still playing for? Let's go." A disgruntled voice said.

These soldiers didn't have the clear hierarchy or polite formalities found in other legions; they were all rough, unruly thugs.

Polliver turned around and saw several soldiers with bruised and swollen faces. They had captured a burly man with a similarly bruised and swollen face. The man had been subdued, his mouth stuffed with a black rag, and fear was in his eyes.

Gendry was startled and shouted, "What are you doing? Put down Master Tob!"

He went straight for the soldiers.

Suddenly, a heavy blow struck Gendry on the head from behind, knocking him unconscious in an instant. As his battle axe fell to the ground, he spun around and collapsed into someone's arms.

Polliver chuckled and said, "Young man, you're very strong, but your martial arts skills are terrible! However, I can teach you from now on! Are the bags ready?"

"Ready."

"Take it away!"

"Yes, sir."

The group quickly went out, closed and locked the door, and then stuck a note they had prepared beforehand on the door: Temporarily Closed!

"Sir Knight, please tell Lord Gregor about the matter that needs to be done tomorrow. I'll go too."

"OK!"

"My lord, is the lady Sir Gregor has chosen a virgin or a widow?"

"I don't know. All I know is that we're just going to snatch people, just like today."
