Chapter 19 - Chapter 18

Y/N~

The plan is simple.

Jeon Jungkook is such a overprotective and jealous gremlin over everything. So, that's what we're gonna do.

Just me and Jimin. Being all couple-y. Holding hands, sitting too close, giggling like idiots.

We're not technically faking it either—because Jimin and I? We kind of are a thing now. Sort of. Emotionally messy, Slytherin-Ravenclaw, morally questionable kind of a thing. But for Plan A, we've decided to dial it up to eleven. Only when Jungkook's around.

And Jungkook?

Still avoids me like I'm contagious.

I even caught him in the Ravenclaw common room last night. Just sitting alone on the couch with a book in his lap. A rare sight these days.

I walked in, holding two mugs of hot cocoa like the walking symbol of reconciliation, and the second he saw me?

Poof. Gone. Like I was a dementor.

No words. No glare. Just... vanished.

Honestly, I think I saw dust in his wake.

But today is different. Today is Plan A: Jeon Jealousy Initiation.

And the setting?

The Hogwarts garden.

There's this big, decorative marble fountain in the middle—the one with the mermaid statue blowing bubbles and occasionally spitting at passing first-years. That one. It's Jimin's idea to use it like a stage.

"I'll sketch you," he said this morning, already grinning like a snake with a secret. "I've been dying to do it for awhile now."

So now, here I am. Sitting like a muse on the edge of the fountain, pretending not to combust inside while Jimin sits a few feet away, sketchbook on his lap and a dramatic 'artist face' in full force.

I've been trying to act natural for fifteen minutes. It's not going well.

"Stop twitching," he nags, barely looking up.

"I'm not twitching," I whisper-yell.

"You blink every time someone walks by. I can see your lashes flapping from here."

I throw him a glare. He just chuckles and continues shading something on the page.

"You're not the one who'll get punched," He mutters. "You should relax."

I glance up with a smirk that could start wars. "Exactly. I'm the eye candy. You're the bait."

"Wow. Romantic."

"You love it."

He's not wrong. This is kinda romantic.

Ugh. Don't tell him that.

Still, I can't help but smile. He has this annoying talent for making me feel less like a walking disaster and more like a person who can survive this mess.

Then it hits me.

Wait. Hold the fuck up.

Do I like this Slytherin?

Like—actually like him?

I stare at him, suddenly very aware of his annoyingly attractive face, his annoyingly gentle smile, and the fact that his eyes crinkle when he laughs like an actual human mochi.

Oh.

My.

Fucking.

God.

"You're blushing," Jimin says casually, not even glancing up.

I immediately flip him off. He grins and finally sets the sketchbook down, walking toward me with that smooth swagger that makes my knees regret existing.

"You're beautiful," he murmurs, tilting my chin up gently.

And just like that, I forget how to breathe.

"I promise I'll make things right. Everything's going to be okay."

Then he leans down and—pecks my nose.

My. Nose.

My entire face heats up like I've been set on fire and thrown into a cauldron of feelings. My heart does this little traitorous flutter and I want to scream at it to chill.

God, I really do like him. Like, stomach-doing-backflips kind of like him.

Shit.

But before I can even recover, there's a loud, terrifying CRACK.

Water splashes behind me and I scream like someone cursed my soul. The fountain just... broke.

Jimin instantly throws himself in front of me protectively, shielding me from... more marble decapitations, I guess?

But it's not all of it. Only the statue's entire head just crashed down inches from my elbow.

"What the—"

I'm still recovering from the near-death experience when I look up and freeze.

Across the garden, standing near the hedge archway—is Jungkook.

His wand is still pointed. His face is absolutely fuming.

Beside him, Taehyung looks like he just witnessed murder. Lima's mouth is open mid-gasp.

Jimin follows my gaze. His hand is still gripping mine, but his eyes lock with Jungkook's and there it is.

The explosion.

The moment we've been waiting for.

Jungkook doesn't say a word. Doesn't even growl.

He just turns around on his heel and disappears into the crowd of students before anyone can stop him.

Silence lingers for a second.

Then Jimin looks back at me, and we both burst into matching, victorious smirks.

He holds up a hand for a high five.

I slap it without hesitation.

"Plan A?" he asks.

"Complete success," I reply.

The broken statue, a furious gremlin best friend, and a not-so-fake boyfriend with perfect timing?

We're off to a good start.
