Chapter 1 Part 2
Cars moved.
Earth spun.
And no one noticed that Zheng Wen Te was disappearing.
But lately…
something else had been happening.
The news spoke of strange atmospheric disturbances.
People online whispered about the sky looking wrong.
Some called it mass hysteria.
Others called it something darker.
Zheng Wen Te didn't care.
Not until tonight.
He stared at the family photograph again.
His eyes burned.
He whispered, barely audible—
"…I tried."
The cigarette slipped from his fingers, ash scattering across the floor.
Then…
something changed.
At first, it was only light.
A strange brightness beyond the curtains.
Zheng Wen Te frowned.
The air felt heavy.
Thick.
As if the world itself was holding its breath.
Then—
a voice entered him.
Not through ears.
Through the soul.
Ancient.
Cold.
Unavoidable.
"Your time is up."
Zheng Wen Te froze.
The cigarette burned unnoticed beside him.
The voice continued, shaking something far beyond the room—
shaking the heavens themselves.
"For five thousand years…"
