Chapter 3
003 Cardcaptor Sakura
Today's experiences weren't just unbelievable for a certain Control Devil.
Kinomoto Sakura, a 4th-grade student at Tomoeda Elementary, daughter of Kinomoto Fujitaka and Daidouji Nadeshiko, also found it quite unbelievable.
Because she accidentally opened a book in her home study and used one of the Clow Cards, all the other cards were lost… And so, Kinomoto Sakura inexplicably met the "Guardian Beast of the Clow Cards book"—Cerberus… Although his name sounds cool, the current Cerberus, from his appearance, looks exactly like a cute doll, capable of providing her with every kind of help except actual help.
However, in the end, Kinomoto Sakura still accepted "Kero's" request and became Clow Reed's successor, taking on the responsibility of a "Clow Card Master"—to retrieve all the magical Clow Cards causing mischief everywhere.
This development was like the beginning of some strange fairy tale… And this was also the reason she was running on the street in her pajamas late at night, being chased by a large bird—that large bird was actually the embodiment of the "Fly" Clow Card… Hmm… In this era, the meaning of the character "Sho" (xiáng) was still quite innocent, no matter the country.
Because she was completely thrown into it, Kinomoto Sakura only had time to learn how to turn her key into a magic staff, and hadn't yet figured out how to seal the opponent when the big bird swooped down—apparently, the Clow Cards, having finally gained freedom, didn't want to go back just like that.
Facing the big bird's pursuit, it was fortunate that Kinomoto Sakura's athletic abilities were exceptionally good; any ordinary girl her age would have been blown away by the wind.
Meanwhile, "the Guardian Beast" Kero, who was beside her, was completely useless, constantly yelling at Sakura, the "Clow Card Master," to quickly find a solution.
"But what can I do?! It's impossible…"
As the giant bird behind them got closer, a roar of a motorcycle came from behind.
The next second, Sakura felt herself being grabbed by the collar of her shirt, lifted like a kitten, and after a dizzying spin, she found herself being held in someone's arms.
"Eh!?"
She looked up and saw that the person holding her was an older sister who looked about sixteen or seventeen. The other party was driving a motorcycle, and after pulling some distance away from the big bird, she lowered her head to look at Sakura.
"Kinomoto Sakura?" the other party asked.
Kinomoto Sakura noticed that this older sister had a pair of peculiar golden-yellow eyes, which looked cool and beautiful.
She seemed to know her?
"Um… Excuse me, who are you?"
"Do you have a solution for that bird behind us?"
Although Makima was theoretically an invincible existence in this world… she was, after all, an ordinary person before transmigrating.
Facing punk delinquents, she could easily generate a subjective feeling of "superiority," thus easily achieving control… But when facing the unnatural phenomenon before her, she probably still found it difficult to truly, subconsciously, look down on it from the bottom of her heart and thus control it.
Sakura didn't care to ask who the person in front of her was anymore. Recalling what Kero had said, she nodded:
"Maybe, but… I need to find a way to get close to it! For example, get on its back!"
"That won't be easy…"
Makima sharply turned the handlebars, dodging one of the big bird's attacks.
"But there's a slope ahead; I can give you a boost, but… are you sure you won't be thrown off by that bird?"
"Please, I have to try!"
"Then… hold on tight, get ready!"
Makima pressed the throttle to the floor, twisted the handlebars, and, relying on the motorcycle's powerful grip, rode up the slope at the side of the road.
A few seconds later, their height reached the right side of the big bird.
"Go for it, Sakura!"
With that, Makima, ignoring Sakura's gasp, grabbed her by the collar of her shirt and tossed her onto the big bird's back.
The latter instinctively let out a scream, rolled a few times on the big bird's back, landed safely, and just before she was about to fall, grabbed onto the bird's wing.
The big bird, feeling someone on its back, immediately flapped its wings and flew higher, trying to shake Sakura off, but the latter held onto its feathers tightly, refusing to let go.
After a brief fright, Sakura seized the opportunity, gripped her staff with one hand, and threw out the Wind Clow Card with the other:
"Wind… please gather the sealing currents!"
The next second, a golden magic circle appeared beneath her, and a golden embodiment of wind appeared, transforming into a golden chain that slowly bound the big bird, then gently slammed it to the ground.
After landing, Sakura rolled and quickly stood up, raising her magic staff high:
"Return to your original form! Clow Card!!!"
As the magic staff swung down, the big bird let out a cry, slowly being absorbed into the card, and about seven or eight seconds later, it transformed back into a Clow Card.
Kero, who had been blown away by the airflow earlier, quickly flew to Sakura's side and praised, "You did great, Sakura!"
And seeing that everything was finally over, Sakura collapsed onto the ground in a squat, sighing with relief after her near-death experience:
"So… so scary! I thought I was going to die…"
Kero patted Sakura's head to comfort her:
"But you still managed to solve it smoothly, didn't you? You truly are the Clow Card Master I found!"
"I never agreed to be a Clow Card Master! I… Ah!"
Sakura stood up and looked at the distant slope, but she couldn't find the older sister's figure.
"Kero, where's that older sister from earlier?"
Kero, who at this moment seemed even more useless than emergency food, looked around in confusion: "I didn't notice either. By the way, is she your friend?"
"I… don't know her…"
Sakura looked into the distance, puzzled.
"But she… seemed to know me…"
On the other side of the slope.
Makima looked at Sakura, who had successfully recaptured the Clow Card, and showed a faint smile.
Although I have all sorts of naughty thoughts, she is, after all, my childhood goddess… But we will have a chance to meet again, Kinomoto Sakura.
Makima turned the motorcycle around and drove away without a trace of hesitation.
Inuyasha, Detective Conan, Cardcaptor Sakura… each one more significant than the last.
, things are about to get interesting.
Such a small Tokyo, yet there are three plot characters from completely different worldviews appearing simultaneously. This is too absurd… Makima has already realized that the world she transmigrated into is probably far from an ordinary everyday world—what else will happen next?
Ultraman fighting monsters? Kamen Riders fighting evil organizations? Robocon causing havoc in Tokyo?
Originally, I wanted to quietly live an everyday life and make plans after thoroughly understanding my current situation… But now it seems, I need to speed things up!
004 Taking Over Tokyo in Three Days
The next morning
Makima did not change into her school uniform; she still wore a white shirt and black trousers when she left home.
Heading straight for school, she didn't go to her own classroom but found the principal's office.
Pushing open the door, the principal behind the desk looked bewildered as Makima approached him:
"You are…"
"From now on, obey me."
Her golden eyes flashed with the reflection of the other person.
The next second, the principal stood up and bowed respectfully to Makima:
"Yes! Do you have any commands now?"
"…"
Makima showed a slight smile.
Indeed, ever since she confirmed that she was the Control Devil, Makima's confidence had greatly increased. Her mindset had already allowed her to easily "look down" on ordinary people, and controlling them had become completely effortless.
What a convenient ability.
With such means, all worldly power and wealth were, for Makima, like commodities on a convenience store shelf, easily obtainable.
Even instigating a war between two countries would be entirely Makima's word—if she wished.
Of course, since this world has a Shinigami Elementary School Student, a magical girl, and a demon from the Sengoku period… then it wouldn't be strange if there were other supernatural powers.
I need to find a way to thoroughly explore the true nature of this world… And the identity of an ordinary high school girl won't allow me to do that.
So, let's start here.
Makima commanded:
"Now, go—take me to meet all the so-called 'important people' you know, government officials, wealthy individuals, or any other dignitaries."
"Yes."
The school Makima attended was not a famous one; after all, it was just an ordinary middle school, and the principal's connections were not particularly extensive.
But through layers of progressive relationships, Makima gradually came into contact with those "higher-level" figures at the top of society and easily brought them under her control.
By the afternoon, after meeting several groups of people, she was already sitting in a top-floor office of a building in Shinjuku New District.
From the floor-to-ceiling windows here, one could overlook Tokyo.
Shinjuku Gyoen, the Imperial Palace of the Japanese Emperor, Meiji Jingu, Yoyogi Park, Tokyo Tower… all landmark buildings were visible.
One could even see the Tokyo Bay Rainbow Bridge and the famous Mount Fuji in the distance.
—This was the Tokyo Metropolitan Government Building, the headquarters of the Tokyo Metropolitan Government, one of the political power centers of all Tokyo.
And the middle-aged man standing respectfully before her was the current Governor of Tokyo—Tokyo's highest political official, responsible for managing all matters big and small in Tokyo.
This official position, if placed in China, would be roughly equivalent to the Mayor of Beijing.
Beside him were various high-ranking officials of the Tokyo Metropolitan Government; unaware of what was happening, they had been summoned and then swept up by Makima.
Standing before the floor-to-ceiling windows, Makima watched the sun nearing the horizon, feeling quite emotional.
Reaching the highest level of Tokyo—Tokyo! It's truly beautiful~
Oh, isn't that the Imperial Palace?
And look at Mount Fuji in the distance~
Jokes aside—taking over almost all of Tokyo in less than a day, with a few more days of effort, all of Japan would be hers. If she continued, in less than a month, the entire world would bow at Makima's feet.
But… I have a feeling that continuing like this would be very boring.
—It felt like playing a game and accidentally overdoing it with cheats.
What was originally a challenging task instantly became dull, and even the fun of the game itself slowly disappeared.
It's a good thing this isn't an ordinary world, otherwise Makima would die of boredom.
"For now, I'll give you a few tasks."
Makima turned around and commanded the crowd.
