A burn status is a condition that is very good against Pokémon that use physical strength. Why is Shiny Mega Rayquaza so strong? It is because when Rayquaza Mega Evolves, its attack stats are both very high. This includes its physical attack and its special attack.
Shiny Mega Rayquaza is better than almost every other Pokémon in the world at attacking. It is very proud of this power.
But with a burn, Shiny Mega Rayquaza's physical attacks are not as explosive anymore. They are still strong, but not as much. Its Special Attack is still powerful, but the overall danger it poses is much lower. It is much worse to be good at only one type of attack instead of two!
"ROAR!!"
The Shiny Mega Rayquaza roared because it was angry. It was mad at these opponents!
The fire from the burn went down a little. A very strong windstorm came out of its mouth.
It used the Flying-type move: Hurricane!
The Shiny Mega Rayquaza knew its body was different now. So, it changed how it attacked.
"Protect!"
Shadow Mewtwo acted fast and made a green barrier.
The big windstorm hit Shadow Mewtwo's shield. The shield shook hard and looked like it might break. However, the barrier stayed up.
"Blizzard!"
Deoxys put its hands together. Cold blue energy started to glow.
But in the next second, a black shadow moved like lightning. It hit Deoxys very hard. Deoxys was sent flying and hit a building that was already broken.
It was the Shiny Mega Rayquaza's Extreme Speed!
The Shiny Mega Rayquaza turned its head. Dragon light gathered in its mouth. Shadow Mewtwo made a purple psychic barrier quickly. The dragon was moving too fast to move out of the way.
BOOM!
A Dragon Pulse shot out. It hit Shadow Mewtwo's psychic barrier with a lot of force. Both Shadow Mewtwo and the barrier were pushed back.
Damian saw Deoxys and Shadow Mewtwo get hit so fast. He was surprised.
"Ho-Oh, Sky Attack!"
"Creee—!"
The rainbow light was very beautiful. Ho-Oh had recovered a little and flew up again. It was very hard to defeat because its rainbow fire could heal it. Even though the Shiny Mega Rayquaza had hit it many times, Ho-Oh rose into the sky again.
The blue fire of the Sky Attack looked great. Ho-Oh opened its wings and flew toward the Shiny Mega Rayquaza. It felt very brave.
However...
The Shiny Mega Rayquaza simply turned its head. it fired another Dragon Pulse. The dragon energy hit Ho-Oh directly.
There was a big explosion. The fire from the Sky Attack was destroyed. The bird was sent flying by the explosion.
Damian made a sound of disappointment. This bird, Ho-Oh, could never stay looking cool for a long time.
"ROAR!!!"
The Shiny Mega Rayquaza flew high. It gave a loud and powerful scream. It looked down at the broken city and the enemies it had beaten. Its black body moved in the air. The gold marks on its skin glowed beautifully. Its power felt very scary!
The dragon thought: So what if I am burned?
I am still the Rayquaza that cannot be beaten!!
The other Rayquaza was watching from far away. Its eyes were shining. It thought its father was very cool!
"The ruler of the skies, Rayquaza..."
Cynthia felt sad while she watched. The Shiny Mega Rayquaza was not hurt even after fighting for a long time. It was too strong.
"Is there really any Pokémon in this world that can defeat this Shiny Mega Rayquaza?" Wallace asked. He was shocked.
It was very powerful! Primal Kyogre, Shadow Mewtwo, Deoxys, and Ho-Oh were all fighting it. That was four legendary Pokémon. Even with Damian giving them orders, they were almost all losing to this one Shiny Mega Rayquaza!
They had only burned it. They had not done anything else. And even with a burn, the Shiny Mega Rayquaza was still very scary.
Steven and the others said nothing. Nobody knew the answer.
Nemona looked excited, but she tried to stay calm. She thought the Shiny Mega Rayquaza was very cool and proud. Cynthia wondered if Palkia or other Pokémons from her home could fight this Shiny Mega Rayquaza.
Even Giovanni was thinking deeply. He started the Mewtwo project because he wanted absolute power to rule the world. But now he saw Shadow Mewtwo losing to this Shiny Mega Rayquaza. He felt that the world still had many secrets, just like Damian said.
"I never thought these legendary Pokémon had this kind of power," Leon said. He felt lucky that his home, Galar, did not have such wild legends. Seeing them destroy a city made him feel like he had no power at all.
"It seems Damian has no way to beat this Shiny Mega Rayquaza either," Steven said quietly. He was sad about the city, but he also felt a little better. He felt bad that the city was destroyed, but he was relieved that Damian had limits!
If Damian had limits, they still had a chance. If even this Shiny Mega Rayquaza could not beat Damian, Steven would not know how to win.

Then, a low cry like an old beast was heard in the sky.
It was Primal Kyogre!

Damian smiled. He looked at Primal Kyogre. Its power was now much stronger.

Primal Kyogre's gold eyes were cold. It felt the big power in its body. It wanted to use it! It felt very strong right now!!
Kyogre thought: Dammit, as long as I use moves to get stronger, I can be this powerful?
Primal Kyogre finally understood it had been silly in the past. If it had used Calm Mind before fighting Groudon, it could have won easily!
The Shiny Mega Rayquaza looked at Primal Kyogre. It saw that the fish had finished getting stronger. It thought the fish was acting too proud.
The Shiny Mega Rayquaza felt that Primal Kyogre wanted to fight. Its eyes became cold.
"Kyogre, Blizzard!" Damian ordered.
"Wuuu—!"
Primal Kyogre's cry went across the sky. A snowstorm that blocked the sun appeared. It moved toward the Shiny Mega Rayquaza.
It used the Ice-type move: Blizzard!
The Shiny Mega Rayquaza roared. A strong wind met the snowstorm. It used the Flying-type move: Hurricane!
BOOM!
The wind and snow hit each other in the sky. The white storm and the blue blizzard fought. The sky changed color. The wind was very loud.
Even Steven and the others were far away, but they almost fell down. The wind almost blew them away!
Primal Kyogre used all its energy for the Blizzard. But even then, it was only a little stronger than the Hurricane. It could not break through.
Kyogre thought: Dammit! How can this Shiny Mega Rayquaza be this strong?!
Primal Kyogre was surprised. It felt its power was much higher. But even with all its buffs, it was only a little stronger than a Rayquaza that did not use any buffs. It thought this was a joke!
The Shiny Mega Rayquaza became more angry. it used more energy. The Hurricane started to become as strong as the Blizzard again.
"Ho-Oh! Mewtwo! Use Helping Hand on Kyogre!"
Damian smiled. He knew this would happen!
Ho-Oh and Shadow Mewtwo went behind Primal Kyogre. Special energy went into Kyogre's body.
They used the move: Helping Hand!
Deoxys did not help because it did not know that move. Also, it was hurt the most by the Shiny Mega Rayquaza.
With help from Ho-Oh and Shadow Mewtwo, Primal Kyogre felt very strong. Its Blizzard became much more powerful. It beat the Hurricane immediately!
The Shiny Mega Rayquaza thought: This is impossible!!!
Its eyes became small. It could not believe the blizzard was coming. It thought: How is this possible!! My move lost! I am the Rayquaza that never loses!
The wild snowstorm moved forward. it covered the Shiny Mega Rayquaza. The dragon was still surprised.
The blizzard was very strong. The city below was now covered in snow. The air became very cold. This attack was very, very powerful!
The ice and snow hit the Shiny Mega Rayquaza's body. Ice formed on its skin. It felt very cold and in a lot of pain. It started to fall. It hit the frozen ground very hard.
This was the first time the Shiny Mega Rayquaza was knocked down!
"Father!"
The other Rayquaza was shocked. It ignored the cold. It used Extreme Speed to fly to the Shiny Mega Rayquaza.
"Hahaha~ I actually knocked down this Shiny Mega Rayquaza in one hit!! You smelly lizard, did you see that? I, Kyogre, am the strongest!!"
The fish laughed through telepathy. It was very, very happy!
It felt so good!
Rayquaza had been stronger than Kyogre for a long time. Kyogre could not even remember how long. It never thought it could knock down a Rayquaza with one move! And it won a fair fight! This was a strong Shiny Mega Rayquaza too! It felt great!
The fish already knew what it would say when the Shiny Mega Rayquaza got up.
It would ask: 'Rayquaza, have you ever lost?'
Just thinking about how the Shiny Mega Rayquaza would feel embarrassed made the fish excited!
