Many years ago, millions of demons conquered nations. They ruled humans like tyrants, until one day, God created a human named Kai. He was kind, yet fierce, with a talent unmatched by anyone. Kai changed the fate of the world: he sealed the Demon King in hell, along with most demons. Some, however, remained in the human realm. Sadly, Kai could not survive, but his legacy continued. Generations learned to wield Celestial Aura to fight demons. And now… in the modern world.
In the modern era, humans created an organization called Celestial Vanguards. Its warriors, known as Abyss Hunters, hunted demons, climbed ranks, trained to strengthen their powers, and protected humanity.
One cold night, at exactly 9:23, a child was born in a hospital. But this was no ordinary child. The newborn radiated Celestial Aura so powerful it lit up the sky. Yet, within him, a dark aura—the essence of demons—flared, heating the room. His parents trembled in fear.
Father: "It's impossible… for a child to be a Demon God vessel." His hands shook, his heart pounding, staring at the infant.
Mother (crying, trembling): "So… much pain… why must it be like this?" She pressed her face toward the baby, and rain began falling outside. Lightning cracked across the sky, jolting everyone.
Father: "We… we shouldn't panic… but this… this is the harshest moment we've ever seen."
Mother: "I can't take this pain anymore…" Her hands shook as she collapsed.
Father, desperate, scooped up the child. "Sorry, my boy…" he whispered, walking past the window.
Thirteen years later…
"Heyyy! Catch that stupid thief!" someone shouted.
A boy ran through the crowded streets, grinning mischievously.
Boy (Ashura): "Catch me if you can, idiots!"
Shopkeepers shouted, chased, and scolded him, but Ashura was fast, nimble, and daring. He leapt over crates and branches, giggling as he evaded capture.
Finally, Ashura appeared near a park. A group of poor, orphaned children sat on the ground.
Ashura (smiling, handing them food he stole): "I'm here, as I promised. Here's your food."
Children: "Thank you, big brother!"
Ashura: "It's fine. I'm your brother—I'll always protect you."
The kids hugged him, laughing and crying. Ashura patted their heads.
Ashura: "See you later."
That night, Ashura returned home.
Ashura (thinking aloud): "My name is Ashura… I don't know my surname. People call me Demon, Danger, Idiot, Thief, Killer… but I'm just a boy. I want to know my family. I want to punch my father for leaving me… Hehehe… I live alone, so no one must know."
He entered his apartment and sat at his desk.
Ashura: "I'm fine for exams… but why did the teacher yell when I failed to spell 'Magic Flame'? I'm not a prodigy yet… yesterday Nyra yelled at me, Rael said I won't do anything in life… the red mark on my forehead… it glows… this is why people hate me. I wish I could remove it."
Ashura lay down on his bed, holding his phone.
Ashura: "I'm lonely… even on social media. No one's here for me… only Ai… fake smiles. My Insta followers: 1. How is that possible? That nerdy Shizu has 1000 and so many friends… what's wrong with me?"
He put the phone down, rubbing his stomach.
Ashura: "Sorry, dude… we can't afford food daily."
He closed his eyes.
Ashura: "Good night."
At school, the teacher sighed:
Teacher: "Ashura…?"
Ashura: "He is absent again."
Teacher (to class): "Maybe he's busy helping poor kids again. He has a chance to study but… wasting his life."
Time passed. Graduation exams were finished.
Teacher: "Class topper is…"
All eyes glared at the stage.
Teacher: "Rael Walker!"
Clapping, whispers, girls staring. Rael's inner monologue: "Walker family… royal heirs… and I expect 100% from him."
Teacher: "Second topper: Nyra Yuki, 98%."
Nyra (thinking): "Still lower than Rael…"
Rael (taunting): "And you will always be lower than me."
Teacher: "Stop it, you two! Chill!"
Scene: Los Angeles
A girl named Nishat looked at her little sister, Mahi.
Nishat: "Where are Mom and Dad?"
Mahi: "They'll be back soon."
Suddenly, Nishat's phone rang. She answered, but it slipped from her hands, hitting the floor. Tears welled up.
Nishat: "Our parents… they're gone… killed by demons on a mission…"
Mahi froze, shocked.
Back in the city, Ashura walked the streets. A shopkeeper grabbed him:
Shopkeeper: "Are you that kid who stole from my shop?"
Ashura (nervous but brave): "Nope, wrong information."
He was slapped, stumbled back, surrounded by yelling shopkeepers. Everyone ignored him as he walked away.
Then a man stepped forward. Everyone fell silent.
Man (Noir): "Did you really steal for bad reasons?"
Ashura: "I handed it to poor orphans."
Noir (smiling): "I'm ready to pay for what was lost. It's fine."
Ashura glanced at him. He was an Elite Vanguard… one of the most dangerous Abyss Hunters.
Ashura (thinking): "Happy… finally someone sees me."
Later, Ashura on balcony, 9:46 PM, sipping an energy drink:
Rika (neighbor): "What are you drinking?"
Ashura: "Hunger killer… energy drink."
Rika (disgusted): "Why?"
Ashura: "I'm not good at cooking… can't afford outside food… this is the only way."
Rika disappeared for a minute, then returned with a food box.
Ashura: "I didn't even get a chance to say thanks…"
He stared at her apartment door, smiling quietly.
Ashura (thinking): "From tomorrow, my life is going to change… I will become the Celestial King."
Flashback: 10 years ago, rain pouring. Ashura, shaking in the cold streets, met Noir for the first time.
Noir: "You shouldn't be out here… demons roam…"
Ashura: "My safe is this street. I don't have a home."
Noir noticed his trembling hands and took his hand.
Noir: "Let's get you to a hospital."
Scene Changes To In Present
Ashura tossed and turned in his sleep, his small hands clutching the bedsheet so tightly it creased under his grip. Sweat dampened his forehead, and his pale face twisted with fear and confusion.
Ashura (muttering in dream): "Where… where am I? What is this place?"
The world around him was a burning wasteland. Flames roared endlessly, and the screams of countless souls echoed through the sky, jagged and piercing. Shadows moved unnaturally, and Ashura's heart pounded in his chest like a drum of war.
From the center of the chaos, a throne formed from blackened bones and cracked obsidian. Sitting upon it was a figure cloaked in dark energy, radiating power that made the air shiver.
Voice (deep, commanding): "Welcome, my vessel."
Ashura's body froze. Fear clawed at him, but deep inside, a spark of defiance burned.
Ashura (bravely, trembling): "Who… who are you?"
Demon God (smirking, voice echoing like thunder): "I am the one who ruined your life. The one who waits for you to embrace your true power. Why not remove the seal? Together, we could rule the world."
Ashura's fists clenched tighter. His mind raced, but his voice remained firm.
Ashura: "I don't need it. I want to lead… not as a tyrant, but as someone who protects."
The Demon God sighed, a sound like mountains collapsing.
Demon God: "Such a small thinking human… Very well. Let's see how much you will stop me."
A wicked smirk spread across the demon's shadowed face. Flames surged higher, surrounding Ashura. He screamed as the ground beneath him crumbled. The sky tore open into a void of infinite darkness.
Ashura (screaming): "No! I… I won't…!"
And then… nothing.
Silence.
Ashura's eyes flew open. His chest heaved violently, gasping for air as though the dream had tried to pull it from him. Sweat soaked his hair and shirt. His room was quiet, the only sound his ragged breathing.
He glanced at the clock—3:00 AM.
Ashura (thinking aloud, voice shaky): "It… it was only a dream… nothing like real life…"
He rubbed his forehead, still feeling the residual heat of the dream.
Ashura (resolutely): "They tried to lure me… offer me power. But I… I'm a hero, not a villain. I'll never let the darkness control me. Never."
A faint glow emanated from his red forehead mark. It pulsed softly, a reminder of the power locked within him. The dream had stirred something—both fear and determination.
Ashura sat up on the edge of his bed, staring out the window. The first hints of dawn painted the city in pale gold.
Ashura (whispering to himself): "I need to get stronger… faster… smarter. The world isn't ready, but I will be."
He clenched his fists. The storm from his dream had faded, but the fire inside him was only beginning.
Final narration for Chapter 1:
Ashura's journey was only beginning. Alone, misunderstood, but fiercely determined, he had survived the streets, endured the whispers, and embraced the quiet kindness of those who believed in him.
