Chapter 50 - Chapter50: Night Chat (Part One)

About an hour later, Jack came down the stairs looking somewhat dispirited. But what could he do? That enchantress Thomas Hong had used all her tricks on him, and if it weren't for his decent self-control, he might have succumbed completely. Just thinking about Thomas Hong's face, which looked unsatisfied, made Jack's calves tremble.

When Jack walked into the lobby, he saw two women looking at him with complex expressions. Feeling a bit guilty, Jack forced a smile and said, "Um... you two should go to bed. I'll handle things here!"

"That vixen Thomas Hong is really inconsiderate. Knowing that you, Lord Lin, have to keep watch at night, she still insists on seducing you. If you get worn out, how will she explain herself?" Cao Mei walked over with a displeased expression, biting her lip as she said, "Lord Lin, you should go rest. Bai Ru and I can hold on for a while longer!"

"Yes, Lord Lin, you should go sleep. Once we find the car tomorrow, Bai Ru and I can sleep in the car!" At this moment, Bai Ru also walked over with a gun in hand.

"Uh... heh heh, how did you all know about this?" Jack said, scratching his head awkwardly.

"This place is so quiet, and that vixen was practically screaming her head off. How could we not hear it?" Cao Mei said through gritted teeth, looking jealous.

Once Thomas Hong started making noise, even she couldn't suppress it. It was likely that the entire building, and even the living dead outside, could hear it. Feeling guilty, Jack could only cough to cover up his embarrassment and said, "It's fine. I used to go three days and nights without sleep. You two should hurry and sleep; women age quickly if they don't get enough rest!"

As he spoke, Jack pushed the two women towards the stairs. It wasn't until their figures disappeared into the hallway that Jack let out a sigh, shaking his head and saying, "If you want to keep something from others, you must not do it yourself! Sigh~ This place really has terrible soundproofing!"

With a flashlight in hand, Jack managed to find a few vacuum-sealed bags of peanuts at the bar. Not caring whether they were still edible, he noticed the packaging was intact. Jack found a Thomas chair to sit down, tore open a bag of peanuts, and began leisurely shelling them one by one. However, his mind was filled with the wild scene of Thomas Red's earlier frenzy. To be honest, once this married woman's energy kicked in, even Jack found it hard to resist. But as a man, Jack wasn't being hypocritical; he truly enjoyed this feeling, which was quite addictive!

As the image of Thomas Red slowly faded from his mind, Jack continued eating peanuts while paying attention to the environment outside the window. After about half an hour of eating, the surroundings remained quiet. Aside from the occasional howling sound of the wind mixed with sand and gravel, there wasn't even a silly zombie in sight.

Peanut shells were strewn all over the floor, and soon Jack felt parched. Just as he thought about finding some water, he heard light footsteps coming from the staircase. To his surprise, Bai Ru came down, understanding his needs, carrying two cups of tea. She had changed into a new outfit, wearing a loose white T-shirt that barely covered most of her backside. Below, just like Thomas Red earlier, she wore nothing but a white thong that was barely visible, and her delicate toes were adorned with a pair of red flip-flops. The sight of her perfectly proportioned thighs made Jack feel a bit dizzy.

"Haha, you really are a timely help! These peanuts have made my mouth so dry!" Jack laughed as he accepted the tea Bai Ru handed him, trying hard not to look at her enticing legs. Curiously, he asked, "Why aren't you sleeping?"

"It's a bad habit I picked up from filming. I usually have very little sleep, and with so much happening today, I need to process it all. I can't sleep, so I got up to boil some water on an alcohol stove and make some tea!" Bai Ru quietly sat beside Jack with her tea. Neither of them spoke until Jack couldn't help but pull out a cigarette. Only then did Bai Ru extend her hand and say, "Can I have one?"

"What? You smoke too?" Jack was surprised as he handed her the cigarette, pulling out another for himself.

"Why? Is it strange? Doesn't Cao Mei smoke too?" Bai Ru took the lighter Jack offered and lit her cigarette. After taking a puff, she coughed several times and waved her hand, saying, "I haven't smoked in a long time; I'm almost out of practice!"

"If you're out of practice, then you shouldn't smoke. Cigarettes aren't good for you!" Jack exhaled a puff of smoke and smiled.

"Then why do you still smoke?" Bai Ru said as she extinguished her cigarette.

"I'm just used to it. When I'm idle, I feel unnatural if I don't have something in my hand!" Jack shrugged his shoulders.

"I once asked a man this question, and his answer was that he liked the feeling of smoke slowly rising before his eyes. He said that feeling made his entire soul seem to be elevated!" Bai Ru tilted her head and said thoughtfully.

"Did your boyfriend say that?" Jack asked in surprise.

"No, it was my dad!" Bai Ru replied with a smile.

"Oh, then your dad must be an artist, saying things with such artistic flair!" Jack raised his eyebrows in surprise.

"You guessed wrong. My dad is just an ordinary teacher, but he often sighs and says that his biggest regret in life is not being a wandering poet!" Bai Ru shook her head with a smile, feeling helpless.

"Oh? That's quite similar to my past dream!" Jack said with a laugh.

"Really? Did you also want to be an artist? You don't really look like one!" Bai Ru asked, a bit surprised.

"I never thought about being an artist, but when I was a kid, I really envied those who could travel often. I used to fantasize that when I grew up, even if I had no money, I would still travel around the world while begging for food. Hehe, that does align somewhat with your father's idea of wandering!" Jack said with a cheerful laugh.

"Well, let's talk about you. We've known each other for several days, but we hardly know anything about you. However, I feel like you must have a lot of stories!" Bai Ru suddenly turned to Jack, her pretty face filled with curiosity.

"Me? What's there to say about me? It's better to talk about you stars; entertainment gossip is a favorite for many!" Jack said with a grin, his eyes involuntarily scanning Bai Ru's well-toned thighs and the faint outline of her white panties, which seemed quite ample.

"Stars? Hehe…" Bai Ru shook her head with a bitter smile and self-deprecatingly said, "I think there's not much difference between stars and ordinary people, just that we get more attention. Two breasts are the same, just a different mouth!"

"Uh…" Jack was momentarily taken aback by Bai Ru's sudden coarse language, unsure of how to respond. Such vulgarity was completely unlike what a refined woman should say.

"Surprised?" Bai Ru suddenly struck a very alluring pose, directly revealing the little panties beneath her clothing. She winked at Jack and said, "Do you find it hard to accept that such a beautiful woman like me uses coarse language? Hehe, the difference between stars and ordinary people is just that they wear a mask of hypocritical elegance. In their private lives, celebrities engage in just as much sordid behavior as anyone else!"

"But living like this just feels too exhausting!" Jack shrugged noncommittally, then looked at Bai Ru and said, "But from my feeling, you should be a bit different from those people!"

"Sigh~ There are differences, but not by much!" Bai Ru sighed, picked up a peanut from the table, shelled it, and stuffed one into Jack's mouth while tossing another into her own. With a hint of resignation, she said, "Although I've never slept with anyone for a role or an investment, I still can't avoid some occasions of drinking and laughing. Even if I get taken advantage of, it's just part of the routine. The worst time was when an investor pretended to be drunk and directly shoved his hand into my lingerie. I couldn't even confront him, so even if I felt unhappy inside, I had to put on a happy face. Sigh~ But who told me to choose this line of work? The entertainment industry has always been the dirtiest and most sordid place in the world, as hypocritical as a whore!"
