Chapter 3 - Chapter 3: I Just Wanted to Find a Toilet — Why Did They All Confess?

"Special… Logistics Inspector?"

KING stared at the appointment letter stamped with the Fleet Admiral's golden seal. His Adam's apple bobbed.

This position sounded like trouble magnetized to his forehead.

He just wanted to live quietly — even raising sheep behind a mountain would be fine.

Sengoku removed his glasses and wiped them slowly, concealing the sharp light in his eyes.

"The veterans entrenched in Logistics are not easily moved… not even Sakazuki can cut into that rot cleanly."

Justice needed a whetstone.

The man before him was the perfect hammer.

"I know you dislike restraint," Sengoku continued, putting his glasses back on. "This post carries three privileges."

"First: no attendance requirements. You may act freely."

KING's pupils dilated.

No clocking in?!

"Second: you may ignore orders from officers ranked Vice Admiral and below."

Below admiral level… free movement?

"Third." Sengoku's gaze sharpened. "You may access any logistics warehouse. If necessary, act first and report afterward."

Inside KING's brain, the meaning translated automatically:

Find a quiet warehouse.

If someone bothers you, ignore them.

If they insist, scare them.

Perfect.

"I'll take the job."

He snatched the appointment letter and turned to leave immediately, skipping any formal salute. If he attempted one and did it wrong, it would only invite scrutiny.

Garp watched him go.

"This kid… not even a 'thank you'?"

Sengoku leaned back, the corner of his mouth lifting slightly.

"He is not impatient. He is displeased."

"He does not wish to remain a moment longer in bureaucratic air."

"He is heading toward the darkness."

He glanced toward the window.

"Tonight… Marineford may change."

Leaving the headquarters building, KING felt the world become quiet.

[Ding — Congratulations! Host has joined the Marines. Map function unlocked.]

[Marine Headquarters detected. Marking optimal AFK locations…]

A translucent 3D map unfolded across his vision.

In the most remote corner, a glowing green marker appeared:

Fourth Abandoned Arsenal

A relic from decades past. Remote. Overgrown. Forgotten.

Heaven.

KING avoided the training grounds and followed the route.

Twenty minutes later, a massive rusted iron door stood before him.

"This is perfect…"

He pushed open a side entrance. Dust billowed outward.

KING nearly cried.

This was the life he wanted.

He found an old wooden crate, sat down, and pressed the power button.

A dim blue glow lit the warehouse — and the scarred contours of his face.

He became absorbed in the game.

Time disappeared.

Until night fell.

"Hey, did you hear? A new inspector was parachuted in from above — sent to audit Logistics."

Outside the warehouse path, two soldiers whispered while secretly transporting supplies.

"Keep your voice down! I heard he came this way earlier."

"You're imagining things. Who would come to this hellhole besides us?"

At that moment, faint game sound effects echoed from inside the fourth warehouse.

One young soldier crept to a broken window and peeked inside.

One glance—

His blood froze.

Inside the dim warehouse, a tall figure sat alone at the center of darkness.

Cold blue light rose from beneath him, illuminating his face from below. The three scars on his cheek resembled demonic claw marks.

His brows were furrowed, eyes focused, as if judging the sins of the world.

At that moment, KING stared at the on-screen boss and muttered through clenched teeth:

"Die… your turn, you rat hiding in the gutter…"

The soldier's pupils shrank.

"H-he's smiling…"

The two fled in terror.

Another hour passed.

KING had been gaming for nine hours.

"Damn… why is this boss so tanky…"

He stared at the screen.

"What a greedy parasite… soaking up all the resources…"

Outside, hidden in darkness:

"Colonel… he's really there…" a subordinate whispered, pale and shaking.

Marine Colonel Jimmy gripped his sword hilt. Sweat soaked the back of his justice cloak.

Tonight was the final transfer of smuggled weapons.

He had not expected to encounter a killing god dropped from the sky.

"Who is he talking to?" Jimmy edged toward the window.

Inside, KING murmured:

"Hiding in the gutter… think I can't find you?"

Jimmy's mind went blank.

Gutter? Resources?

He's talking about me.

"He can hear hearts with his presence…" the subordinate whispered weakly.

Jimmy's eyes hardened.

"We strike first."

"Kill him while he's unarmed and dump the body into the sea. Otherwise, we're dead men."

The rusted iron door creaked open.

Inside, KING reached a critical moment in the game, fingers hammering the buttons.

"Who?!"

He turned sharply.

His bloodshot eyes glowed in the blue light, deep and terrifying.

BOOM.

The first heartbeat exploded like a war drum.

BOOM!!

A second thunderous pulse followed.

Dust suspended in the air trembled in rhythm, defying gravity.

"Since you're here…"

KING's body trembled slightly — not from battle readiness, but from nine hours of desperately suppressed biological urgency.

His voice came out hoarse:

"You…"

BOOOOOOM!!!

The Emperor Engine roared at full power.

Within the enclosed warehouse, the sound became overwhelming physical pressure. Jimmy and his men felt invisible hands clutching their hearts, forcing them into a frantic rhythm as if they might burst.

Behind KING, they seemed to see a towering phantom formed of darkness itself.

A demon god lowering its gaze upon insignificant insects.

KING forced out the rest of the sentence:

"…do you know where the toilet is?"

(Please… my bladder is going to explode.)

But the overwhelming heartbeat drowned the second half.

They heard only:

"You…"

— the verdict of death.

"AAAAAAHHH!!!"

Colonel Jimmy's will shattered instantly.

He dropped his sword and collapsed to his knees.

"I surrender! I'll confess everything! Don't kill me!"

"It was me! I'm the rat in the gutter! I embezzled 300 million Berries! I resold five shiploads of weapons to West Blue syndicates! I even… colluded with Celestial Dragon brokers!"

He sobbed uncontrollably, confessing every crime before his stunned subordinates.

At that moment—

Vice Admiral Garp appeared at the doorway, chewing a donut, accompanied by Marine soldiers. He had come to check whether the new inspector was settling in.

Instead, he found a full confession.

Dust slowly settled.

KING sat on the crate, confused, staring at Jimmy foaming at the mouth.

Then he looked at Garp and the Marines.

"…?"

Slowly, he lowered his head toward the screen.

GAME OVER

He had died while distracted.

After a long silence, he sighed.

"…It was just a question about the toilet. Was all this really necessary?"
