Chapter 3 - Visitor?

They enter the living room and find August seated in his antique style chair. He smiled while flicking back his golden blonde hair.

"I'm glad you finally made it, though you were a bit slow," he teased.

Jesse chuckled as he jumped into his embrace. Ethan stood watching this unfold when he finally decided to look at the visitor.

Freeze. Ethan locked eyes with the stranger who greeted him back with a knowing smile. After a few minutes August finally looked at them at some point as he called them out.

"Ethan. Masato, this is not the time for your nonsense," he scolded.

Ethan clicked his tongue while Masato stands up.

"No need to scold us Senpai," Masato stood up and headed for the door.

"That was all I needed anyway, so we'll prepare the next time we are free," he continues.

August sighs, "Just drop by my office tomorrow and inform me before you do."

He glares at Masato as he chuckles and waves. Just before he walked out, he turned and stared at Ethan.

"It was really nice meeting you again Uriel. Though I wonder? Is he hidden or you still can't pull him out?" he asks smirking.

Ethan stays quiet and stares at him.

Masato fully turns and looks at him, "You can't seriously be telling me he's still stuck. It's just a little bit of lightning," he continues.

Ethan clutched his gloved hands while staring daggers at Masato. August stood up and walked infront of him.

"I remembered you saying you were leaving, or am I wrong," August spoke.

Masato chuckled and held the back of his neck.

"My apologies, I was just making sure everything is in order. The deadline is right around the corner," He says walking out.

"I'll see you at the end of the week, Urkel," he says as he disappears into the night.

Ethan tightened his grip as August patted him on the shoulder.

"Don't beat yourself up about it, let's get ready for dinner," he said walking away.

Ethan bit his lip while his grip threatened to break his hand.

I'm really starting to hate that damned sword.

With one last sigh he let go of his hand and looked up into the sky and followed behind them.

An uneventful and awkward dinner passed and Ethan headed to his room after giving Jesse a kiss on the forehead.

He quietly entered and closed the door before launching himself onto the bed. He slowly started ripping his gloves off.

Gritting his teeth he finally managed to bear through the pain of taking off one of the long black plastic gloves.

He quietly sighed as he looked at his other hand.

Even after so long it still feels like my skin is burning like hell.

Reluctantly he started peeling off his other glove and exposed his greatest failure, his two burnt arms.

He slowly raised his right hand to the right side of his hand and felt for a burn scar. When he found it he slowly went down to his neck and stopped.

With a heavy sigh he buried his face into his pillow and tried to fall asleep. But slumber refused to take him.

Frustrated he opened his eyes. He saw nothing but the endless void.
