Chapter 1 - chapter 1 : starter pokemon

The episode begins…

Inside a room, a boy was watching a Pokémon match on TV with intense focus.

Suddenly, the boy began to introduce himself.

"My name is Ash Ketchum. Today I'm about to turn ten years old, and I can't wait any longer because tomorrow I'll receive my very first Pokémon."

After saying this, sparks of excitement burned in Ash's eyes.

He started declaring that in the future he would achieve this goal, he would reach that milestone, and become something great.

Suddenly, the door to the room opened.

Standing there was Ash's mom, who looked quite angry.

"Ash, it's time to sleep" she said, " Tomorrow you have to wake up early to get your starter Pokémon. Look, it's already 11 o'clock."

"Mom, that's exactly why I can't fall asleep! Getting my first Pokémon and going on a new adventure — because of all that, I just can't sleep. What am I supposed to do?"

After hearing his mom, Ash began explaining why he couldn't sleep.

"If you can't sleep, Hearing this, Ash's mom replied, " then watch Professor Oak's program. Today he's giving information about the three starter Pokémon of Kanto."

Dalia picked up the TV remote and switched to Professor Oak's program. Then she reminded Ash to change his clothes and put on his pajamas before leaving the room.

Just as Dalia had said, Professor Oak was on TV introducing the three starter Pokémon of Kanto. First, he introduced Charmander, then Squirtle, and finally Bulbasaur.

"I choose you, Bulbasaur! Squirtle! Charmander!"

By now, it was 1 a.m. Ash had put on his pajamas and gone to bed, but he was mumbling in his sleep.

He hadn't even received a single Pokémon yet, but in his dream he had already caught all three starter Pokémon.

However, in the meantime, he was holding a Poké Alarm in his hand. Mistaking it for a real Poké Ball while asleep, he threw it hard against the wall.

...

The next morning…

A three-headed Pokémon stood on the roof of a house, announcing the arrival of dawn like a rooster.

Sunlight streamed through the window and fell on Ash. Hearing that Pokémon's cry, Ash suddenly woke up.

He immediately realized that he had overslept. When he saw the broken Poké Alarm lying there, he found the reason for waking up late and that reason was himself.

Without thinking much about it, Ash rushed out in that very state toward Professor Oak's lab to get his starter Pokémon.

Outside Professor Oak's lab, a crowd had gathered. Some cheerleaders were there, cheering for a boy named Gary.

Pushing his way through the crowd, Ash came forward and accidentally bumped into Gary, causing Ash to fall to the ground.

At that moment, Ash didn't know who he had collided with, so he admitted his mistake and apologized to Gary.

If Ash had known it was Gary he had bumped into, not only would he not have accepted the fault, he wouldn't have apologized either.

"Oh, Ash, you've come now? The time to receive a Pokémon has long since passed."

Gary looked at Ash with a teasing smile and said,

The moment he heard that familiar voice, Ash quickly stood up and saw that it was Gary the same Gary who always made fun of him.

Looking at the Poké Ball in Gary's hand, Ash said, "Oh, it's you, Gary! Did you get a Pokémon? Can you show me, please?"

"No."Gary shook his head and, in a mocking tone, replied,"Why should I show you? You're not worthy of seeing my Pokémon."

"Gary…"

Grinding his teeth, Ash muttered. Ignoring Ash, Gary turned toward the crowd and said,

"You all came to bid me farewell, and for that, I am grateful. I assure you all that I will become the strongest trainer and make Pallet Town proud."

After saying this, Gary said goodbye to everyone and sat inside a red car. The cheerleaders joined him inside.

Then the red car began to drive away, and the crowd followed behind it.

Now only Ash remained there, glaring angrily at Gary sitting in the red car. At that moment, Ash made up his mind he would definitely defeat Gary one day.

Just then, Professor Oak suddenly arrived. Looking at Ash, he said,

"Oh, Ash, you finally found the time to come."

Hearing Professor Oak's voice, Ash quickly turned toward him and asked,

"Professor Oak, where is my Pokémon?"

"Pokémon? You still have the courage to ask that? Well, come inside the lab. You'll get your Pokémon there." Professor Oak replied.

Inside the lab, Professor Oak and Ash stood in front of a device on which three Poké Balls had been placed.

Pointing toward the Poké Balls, Professor Oak said,

"Here are three Poké Balls. Choose one of them. Inside it is your starter Pokémon."

Hearing this, Ash became excited because he was finally about to receive his Pokémon.

"If that's the case, then I choose Bulbasaur!"

Ash picked up one of the Poké Balls and pressed the button in the center.

"Come out, my Pokémon Bulbasaur!"

But there was no response. The Poké Ball opened, but it was completely empty.

Seeing this, Ash's face fell with disappointment.

Professor Oak explained that the Pokémon from that Poké Ball had already been taken by its trainer, and that if Ash had arrived on time, he would have received that Pokémon.

After hearing Professor Oak's scolding, Ash felt embarrassed. Even so, he tried the remaining two Poké Balls, but just like the first one, they were empty as well.

"Professor Oak, is there no Pokémon left for me? If you have any Pokémon at all, please give it to me. Any Pokémon will do, please."

Looking toward Professor Oak, Ash asked.

"There is one… but there's a small problem with it."

At that, Professor Oak hesitated slightly.

As soon as Ash heard this, the sparkle returned to his eyes, "Professor Oak, that's fine! I'm ready to face any kind of problem."

Professor Oak nodded, "Very well. But don't complain later that I didn't warn you."

Then Professor Oak pressed a button in the middle of the Poké Ball device, and from inside the machine, a Poké Ball marked with an electric symbol slowly rose up.

Professor Oak once again told Ash to think carefully about it, but Ash gave the same reply as before.

So Professor Oak picked up the Poké Ball and handed it to Ash.

Suddenly, the Poké Ball opened, and a golden light burst out from it, temporarily blinding both of them.

When the golden light faded, a large yellow mouse Pokémon was standing on top of the device. Its name was Pikachu.

Professor Oak began the introduction, "This Pokémon's name is Pikachu. It's an Electric-type, but it's a little"

He hadn't even finished speaking when Ash lifted Pikachu into the air with both hands.

"It's so cute! From now on, this is my Pokémon!"

Pikachu, who had just come out, saw that a complete stranger had grabbed it. Angered, it immediately released a Thunder Shock.

The attack hit Ash directly, causing him to be badly shocked.

Professor Oak had already anticipated this, so he had stepped a little away from Ash beforehand, which is why he wasn't affected.

After Pikachu finished using Thunder Shock, Professor Oak cleared his throat and said,

"Pikachu's nature is a bit shy. When new people suddenly grab it, it tends to release electricity."

Ash, who had now recovered from the shock, looked at Professor Oak and said,

"You could have told me that earlier, Professor."

"Who told you not to listen to my full explanation? Anyway, here — take these five Poké Balls and a Pokédex. They'll be useful on your journey."

At this, Professor Oak became slightly annoyed.

"Thanks!"

Ash stretched out his hand to take all the items from Professor Oak.

But just then, Pikachu released another Thunder Shock. This time, both Ash and Professor Oak became its victims.

After saying goodbye to Professor Oak, Ash began walking out of the lab.

Outside, Ash saw that in front of the lab gate, some people were playing musical instruments, and among them was his mom.

Ash walked over to his mom and asked,

"Mom, what is all this?"

When Dalia saw Ash, tears welled up in her eyes.

"All of this is to bid you farewell. You're finally about to set out on your journey. I'm going to miss you, my child."

Then Dalia handed Ash a bag in front of everyone, filled with all the items he would need for his journey. Feeling embarrassed, Ash quickly took the bag from his mom.

"I'm not a child anymore. I can take care of myself. I've become a Pokémon Trainer now." Ash said shyly.

After that, Ash said goodbye to his mom and, pulling Pikachu along with a rubber rope, set off on his journey.
