Chapter 1 - Chapter 1 Fighting with the Beggar

Qian Guo (Qian County).

Yancheng (Salt City).

Song Wen lifted two steaming dead buns he had dug out of a dirty bucket, feeling extremely happy.

Perhaps because the buns were so dense or because there wasn't much broth in the garbage bucket, the buns hadn't soaked and remained relatively clean without much staining.

Completely ignoring the foul odor emanating from the garbage bucket beside him, he scraped off the two pieces of vegetable leaves stuck to the buns and stuffed them into his mouth in large bites.

The cold, dry buns, without any water, were extremely difficult to swallow. But Song Wen didn't mind; after a few bites, he managed to swallow one.

With the dry bun still lodged in his throat, making it difficult to swallow, he almost choked.

Finally, he managed to swallow the bun, feeling a slight relief in his empty stomach, but he still felt far from full

He had crossed into this world two days ago, and this was his first meal.

When he regained consciousness, he saw a beggar boy of about ten appear before him. The beggar boy was gazing piteously at the last cake in Song Wen's hand, his eyes filled with longing and hope.

Song Wen looked at the weak beggar boy before him and then at the cake in his hand.

After a brief moment of hesitation and struggle, he brought the cake to his mouth without intending to give it to the beggar boy.

Having crossed into this world resembling ancient times, he found that the skills and knowledge he had acquired from modern society were useless here; even survival had become extremely difficult. He had no intention of pitying strangers he did not know.

Just as the cake was about to enter Song Wen's mouth, the beggar boy's face suddenly turned fierce.

Suddenly, the beggar boy ran a few steps forward, then suddenly jumped, leaping to a height of about two meters and grabbing the cake directly from Song Wen's hand

At the same time, the beggar boy opened his filthy mouth,

He showed his yellow teeth and bit Song Wen's forearm.

Taken aback by the beggar boy's sudden attack, Song Wen initially showed a trace of panic in his eyes, but then became angry.

He had lived a comfortable life in modern society; not entirely successful, but he hadn't worried about food and drink.

Now, having suddenly been transferred to this world with virtually no survival skills, he was frustrated that even a small beggar dared to bully him.

His anger had finally found an outlet.

Song Wen's expression turned fierce.

"Get lost!"

Song Wen swung his arm and struck at the beggar boy.

When Song Wen had crossed over into this world, his originally thirty-year-old body appeared to be that of a fourteen- or fifteen-year-old youth—not particularly tall, but still stronger and more robust than the beggar boy who had been deprived of food for so long.

Song Wen's forearm slapped the beggar boy's faced. irectly, causing his nose to bleed immediately.

Emergency calls, veins, but Song Wen clearly underestimated the beggar's ferocity.

Instead of being struck by Song Wen's forearm, the beggar grabbed Song Wen's arm and bit it.

Throughout this entire confrontation, the ferocious beggar boy's facial expression never changed; his eyes remained fixed on the cake in Song Wen's hand.

As he felt the pain, Song Wen's face became even more ferocious.

"You little monster, how dare you bite me? I'll kill you."

Song Wen raised his knee, exerted all his strength, and thrust it hard against the beggar boy's chest.

The beggar boy took a heavy blow, his body collapsed, and he could no longer hold onto Song Wen's forearm. He flew backward, crashing onto the dirty ground half a tzng.

Still seething with anger, Song Wen had no intention of letting the beggar go. He stepped forward and kicked the beggar in the chest with his feet, knocking him off

He coughed up blood again, and it was clear he had internal injuries, before finally stopping.

Just as Song Wen was about to turn and leave, he suddenly noticed the beggar boy glaring at him with displeasure.

The beggar boy's gaze sent shivers down his spine, and a bad feeling crept into his heart.

Since you've just arrived and have no real power or background, it's wise not to offend anyone, even a beggar at the lowest rung of society.

Who knows if this beggar boy has any local protection from the underworld behind him?

After they had looked at each other for a long time, thoughts of permanently eliminating future trouble came to Song Wen's mind.

They were in a narrow, dark alley, usually frequented by only a few. Now that they were only here, Song Wen thought that if he resolved to brutally kill the beggar, no one would notice for a while.

In this grim and chaotic parallel world, countless common people in Yangcheng die unjustly every day. The authorities simply ignored the matter, powerless or unwilling to intervene.

Out of the corner of his eye, Song Wen noticed a large stone paved in the alley, smooth and hard to the touch, perhaps even harder than the head of the beggar boy.

At that moment, the hardships of the past two days overwhelmed him. A fierce anger surged in his heart, clouding Song Wen's judgment and shattering the moral standards of the modern society he had known for over thirty years. Song Wen's face became grim and terrified.

Having witnessed so much looting and pillaging in the past two days, it seemed that at this moment, Song Wen had awakened the demon lurking deep within his heart.

While others acted recklessly, this was a world where the strong exploited the weak, so why should he adhere to the moral and ethical standards of his previous life?

Song Wen turned toward the gravel. The beggar's eyes gradually filled with fear.

Suddenly, two servants from wealthy families appeared at the end of the alley, carrying a bucket of filth, and entered

Upon seeing the strangers, Song Won regained his composure and retreated

The devil was in his heart, and he restrained his impulsive thoughts.

There were things that could not be done, and Song Wen felt a certain relief and indescribable pleasure. He shook his head, then turned and left the alley.

As Song Wen stepped out of the alley, he saw a large crowd of people heading towards the street.

These people were shouting, "Hurry up! The Tian Sha Gang is recruiting. If you're late, there won't be another chance."

The reputation of the Tian Sha Gang had practically entered Song Wen's ears like a broken record in the past two days.

In Yancheng City, the Tian Sha Gang was undoubtedly the most powerful gang, with some aspects of its power exceeding that of the local authorities.

However, the reputation of the Tian Sha Gang was not clean after it had committed many evils.

Song Wen also followed the crowd and rushed towards the street.

Recruitment meant receiving wages, and wages meant being able to eat proper meals and no longer having to fight over crumbs in a bucket

Garbage with beggars.

He pushed his way through the dense crowd with all his might, and finally saw a notice posted on the wall at the corner of the street.

The characters in the advertisement were similar to traditional characters from his previous life. Although Song Wen hadn't learned the traditional characters, he was able to understand their general meaning.

The notice stated that the Tian Sha Gang was recruiting children aged seven to fourteen to learn martial arts and become the backbone of the gang in the future.

It also stated that the families of the selected children would receive generous rewards, that the children themselves would have a bright future, and so on.

After reading the notice, Song Wen felt rather disappointed.

It turned out that the Tian Sha Gang was recruiting new members for the gang; it wasn't just a simple job recruitment.

Moreover, the Tian Sha Gang only recruited children aged seven to fourteen, which didn't match the body age

Song Wen managed to slip through the crowd and wanted to leave.

But amidst the noisy throng, he suddenly heard a loud shout.

"You there, wait."

Song Wen heard the shout, but didn't think it was directed at him. He didn't stop walking but continued pushing his way through the crowd.

"Hey, kid, I'm talking to you. Is my word no longer valid in Yancheng?"

The voice behind him was becoming increasingly agitated.

As a newcomer, Song Wen was cautious and afraid of offending anyone. He stopped, then turned around and looked behind him to make sure the person was speaking to him.

Turning his head, he saw a man with a thick beard, dressed like a criminal, with menacing eyes, and behind him stood two large men, all dressed in Tian Sha gang uniforms.

Song Wen frowned immediately. He didn't understand where he had offended this "master

Sha.

Song Wen frowned immediately. He didn't understand where he had offended this "Master."

Song Wen had originally been just an ordinary salesman at Blue Star, and his numerous sales experiences hadn't made him particularly wealthy. But they had taught him to tailor his speech to the listener and understand other people's underlying intentions.

A servile smile immediately spread across his face. He took two quick steps forward, bowed slightly, and approached the "Master."

He smiled obsequiously and said, "Master, you summoned me. What can I do for you?"

Although Song Wen wasn't pleased with his actions, he knew deep down that in this lawless world, if he wanted to survive, he had to bow and stoop first.

Insulting the local dignitaries as soon as he arrived was like challenging a dragon in its lair or looking for a dead end
