Chapter 22 - Chapter 22 Sacrifice

Late June 2008: S.H.I.E.L.D. was quite annoyed that you admitted to being Iron Man, but you remained unconcerned. Only Tony Stark sourly remarked that you were shameless but cool.

July 2008: Tony Stark went to Afghanistan to promote his weapons, but with your prior arrangements, John Wick helped him escape the danger. Tony Stark successfully returned to America and found you to express his sincere gratitude.

August 2008: Your Pineapple Company has now expanded its business to the energy sector, and graphene batteries can now be supplied for electric vehicles.

September 2008: The U.S. Senate approached you, demanding you hand over your Iron Man Suit on the grounds that individuals cannot privately possess weapons of mass destruction. You decisively refused. Unexpectedly, during the hearing, Tony Stark, as America's largest arms magnate, testified on your behalf, stating that your Iron Man Suit was not a weapon but a high-tech prosthetic. This man was quite decent, as he lied through his teeth for you. You decided to temporarily forgive him.

October 2008: Your friendship with Tony Stark warmed up. Out of male camaraderie, you prepared to give him an Iron Man Suit, but Tony Stark, despite his words, honestly accepted it, claiming he never accepts gifts from men. Also, this month, you received an unexpected surprise: your research in graphene was nominated for the 2008 Nobel Prize in Physics and successfully won.

November 2008: After winning the Nobel Prize in Physics, you gradually became a legend. Influenced by you, the stock price of your Pineapple Company soared.

December 2008: At the Nobel Prize ceremony in Stockholm, you met Dr. Erik Selvig, a physicist and astronomer, and his student, Jane Foster. Erik Selvig had also been nominated for the Nobel Prize in Physics previously and was invited to attend. You fell in love at first sight and rolled in the hay.

January - February 2009: Stark continuously upgraded your Iron Man Suit by two versions, improving its firepower, speed, and endurance. However, he seemed uninterested in being a superhero, upgrading the suit only to prove he was better than you in research. In his opinion, he'd rather date more models with that time.

April 2009 - March 2010: During this period, the Iron Man Suit was upgraded by two more versions. One night, Nick Fury, director of S.H.I.E.L.D., invited you to join the Avengers. But why was it called the Avengers? Why not the Pineapple Alliance? Hearing your retort, Nick Fury's face turned green.

April 2010: Just like in the original plot, a hammer fell from the sky, landing in New Mexico. Although you didn't pay much attention to it, you roughly knew what happened through Black Widow. After an intense battle, Thunder God Thor retrieved his hammer and defeated the Destroyer, but he couldn't win his love, as Jane Foster was currently on vacation with you in New York.

July 2010: Hulk and Abomination engaged in a massive battle in downtown New York. You naturally wouldn't be absent. Under your foresight and command, this battle caused no significant damage or casualties, and your reputation soared. Late at night, you sometimes wondered if, should a major battle truly occur in New York, and it faced a nuclear missile attack, would you choose to sacrifice yourself and carry the nuclear missile into the wormhole, just like Tony Stark did? You guessed you probably wouldn't.

2010: Fury invited you again to join the future Avengers. After much consideration, you decided to accept because the offer was simply too generous.

November 2010: With your help, Captain America was retrieved early from the North Atlantic glacier and brought back to New York. Knowing the plot, and to prevent the Battle of New York, you warned Nick Fury not to try to study the Tesseract again, and he agreed.

March 2011: An unexpected event occurred: Jane Foster became pregnant with your child. You expressed genuine surprise. Although you had no immediate plans for marriage, you were still delighted. After discussion, you decided to keep the child. (Happiness +2)

January 2012: You had your first child. Looking at this tiny life, you felt a deeper connection to this world. (Happiness +2)

June 2012: Everything in your life, both personal and professional, was going smoothly. However, you discovered that Nick Fury had broken his word. He persisted in conducting Tesseract experiments in an underground base, hoping to obtain eternal energy from the cube to create weapons of mass destruction. In mid-June, Loki appeared at the underground base, stole the Tesseract, and brainwashed Hawkeye. Subsequently, at Nick Fury's suggestion, the original Avengers still assembled. The first members were you, Captain America, Black Widow, Thunder God Thor, Hulk, and Hawkeye—though you were very unhappy, you still chose to join.

July 2012: Despite all your efforts, you ultimately failed to thwart Loki's scheme. He still used the Tesseract to open a portal in New York, and countless Chitauri poured out. You and your comrades fought with all your might but could not stop the Chitauri's advance. Minutes later, facing the nuclear missile launched by the Security Council, you hesitated for less than a second before making your choice.

Many years later, everyone present clearly remembered that in the face of despair, a silver-white Iron Man Suit soared into the sky, embracing the nuclear warhead and rushing into the wormhole without hesitation. If someone had to sacrifice, why couldn't it be you? At worst, you could start over.

Summary: Your life was brilliant! Not only in science, but also in business. Some say the anthem of humanity is the anthem of courage, and at least in the eyes of many, in that moment, you were the symbol of justice and courage.

It is worth mentioning that after your death, due to your influence, Tony Stark still chose to inherit your Iron Man Suit, becoming the second-generation Iron Man and joining the Avengers.

At least in this dimension, many years later, when Tony Stark snapped his fingers and sacrificed himself to save humanity, a large part of it was likely due to the influence you had on him by replacing Yinsen.

Rating: B+, World Exploration: 56.8%. Since exploration is greater than 40%, you received 3 transmigration coin (currency) as a reward. Due to your immense impact on the scientific development of the world, you received 4 transmigration coin (currency) as a reward. Keep up the good work!

Simulation ended, please make your choice as soon as possible, Host.

One, randomly obtain three skills and specialties acquired during your transmigration.

Two, randomly draw three items acquired during your transmigration. Note: The Iron Man Suit currently lacks an Arc Reactor. The Arc Reactor is an item unique to the "Endless War" world and needs to be drawn separately from the "Endless War" prize pool.

Zhou Ning:...Although I don't want to admit it, if it were me, I probably wouldn't choose self-sacrifice.

As for why the simulated version of himself made that choice? Perhaps it was for friendship, perhaps for family, or perhaps just a momentary impulse.

But having done it, it wasn't a loss. There's nothing to complain about.

As for the choice... choosing two would likely get him the Iron Man Suit, but without an energy source, it would be a huge pitfall. There was nothing to consider. Zhou Ning unhesitatingly chose one.
