Chapter 1 - The Emerald Crown

Part One: The Whispering Forest 🙂

Long ago, in the ancient kingdom of Eldoria, where silver rivers shimmered beneath twin moons and mountains pierced the heavens, there lived a young stable boy named Arin.

Arin was neither noble-born nor trained in the art of swordsmanship. Yet within him burned a quiet, unwavering courage. Each night, he would gaze toward the distant peaks of Mount Vaelor, where legends told of the Emerald Crown — a relic forged by the first High King to command the ancient magic of the realm.

It was said that whoever wore the Emerald Crown would either restore the kingdom… or doom it forever.

⚔️ A Kingdom in Peril

Darkness had begun to creep across Eldoria.

From the cursed woods of Thornveil Forest, shadows spread like ink upon water. Crops withered in the fields. Wells ran dry. Travelers vanished without a trace.

Whispers spoke of Maldrath the Veiled, a sorcerer long believed defeated, who now gathered power among forgotten ruins beyond the forest.

The King's knights rode forth in shining armor — but none returned.

Then, on a storm-laden night, Arin dreamed.

🌙 The Dream of the Stag

In his dream, a great silver stag stood before him, crowned in moonlight.

"Eldoria fades," it said, its voice like wind moving through ancient leaves. "The Crown must awaken once more. But only one of humble blood may claim it."

Arin awoke with his heart pounding.

In his hand lay a single emerald leaf, glowing softly in the darkness.

🗡️ The Call to Adventure

At dawn, Arin packed the few things he owned — a worn cloak, a small loaf of bread, and an old dagger that had once belonged to his father.

Without farewell and without promise of glory, he set his path toward Thornveil Forest.

The villagers called him foolish.

The guards laughed at his resolve.

But when Arin crossed the old stone bridge and stepped beneath the twisted branches of Thornveil, the wind fell silent — as though the forest itself were watching.

Somewhere deep within its shadowed heart, something ancient stirred.

And high upon Mount Vaelor, a faint green light flickered for the first time in a hundred years.
