Siegfried Dorn was born at the bottom of the ladder, where life is worth nothing. A simple soldier in the royal army, he is nothing but a sacrificeable pawn, cannon fodder destined to die in anonymity. Yet, a consuming ambition drives him to survive: he wants to rise above his caste and join the ranks of the "Saints," that revered warrior elite which enjoys every privilege. To earn his place, Siegfried must carry out the most suicidal missions: purging the city districts infested by Aberrations—monstrosities whose grotesque appearance reflects the true essence of their vices. But as he carves a bloody path toward glory, Siegfried discovers that corruption rots the kingdom far more deeply than he ever imagined. The threat comes not only from the slums, but from the throne itself. The King, beneath his mask of a sovereign, is the primordial Aberration.
