Chapter 45 - Chapter 45: The Tip of the Iceberg — A Tryst Under the Moon

The massive body of the Ghostly Wolf arced through the air and crashed heavily to the ground, sending ice shards flying everywhere.

The entire fighting hall fell silent for a moment, with only the "crackling" of ice colliding echoing in the arena.

Then, the first voice broke the silence:

"Great… Great War General!"

Immediately, an uproar rose.

"How can we fight this?! There's no way to beat a general-level summoned beast!"

"How many cards does this Mingzhu student have up his sleeve? Others only summon a war general, but he directly summoned a huge war general!"

"The world must be crazy… or I am!"

"Ning Xue, stop testing me and get straight to the point!" Wang Feng said, smiling slightly.

Mu Ningxue took a deep breath. The icy aura around her instantly dissipated, replaced by a sapphire-blue wind.

"Wind Plate — Tianluo!" she growled.

The sapphire wind lifted her body gracefully. Her boots hovered lightly, and her long silver hair fluttered in the breeze, revealing her almost flawless face. Her eyes glowed a brilliant blue, like the wind elves, and a blue aura, twenty meters in diameter, surrounded her.

The second-level intermediate wind element "Wind Disk — Sky Net" was far more dangerous than the first-level "Wind Disk — Tornado."

Tornadoes required reaction time to form, but the Sky Net surged suddenly, forming a gyro-shaped whirlwind with a maximum diameter of twenty meters.

Unless one could break through immediately, they could only stand in the eye of the wind, eventually being drawn into the rotating wall, torn apart by the wind's force. If they somehow survived, the final blow could smash them like falling from a cliff.

Wang Feng, however, remained calm, his faint smile unshaken as he observed Mu Ningxue outside the whirlwind.

"Ning Xue, this alone can't threaten me~"

As he finished speaking, a collapsed hole appeared in front of the violent tornado. The void sucked in the surrounding wind power like a black hole.

Within seconds, the twenty-meter whirlwind was compressed into nothingness, as if it had never existed.

The audience was stunned into silence.

"This… what level of space magic is this? It can even compress the Wind Disk — Sky Net!"

"Has Wang Feng's spiritual power reached this level? How did he cultivate it?"

Mu Ningxue's pupils shrank. A complex surge of emotions rose in her heart.

At the same time, Moon swept Lu Zhenghe, Ming Cong, and Xiao Feng away. Mu Ningxue watched helplessly as the last bit of her fighting spirit dissipated.

"We give up."

As captain, her surrender marked the end of the game.

"Mingzhu Academy has won two games in a row. This time, Mingzhu Academy wins!" the referee announced loudly, his voice echoing throughout the hall.

Surprisingly, there was no cheering from Mingzhu Academy. Their expressions merely said: that's how it should be.

"Is this your strength?" Mu Ningxue asked softly, looking at Wang Feng.

Wang Feng smiled but said nothing. Mu Ningxue slightly parted her lips, as if wanting to speak, but in the end, nothing came out.

She realized that the strength he displayed was just the tip of the iceberg. A mix of awe, childhood memories, and a sense of loss filled her heart. The boy she grew up with had now reached a height she could hardly imagine.

That night, the moonlight spilled like water, and the stars twinkled. Wang Feng strolled across the Imperial Capital Academy campus, enjoying the night's tranquility.

A cool breeze blew, and his figure swayed before merging into the shadows, silently reaching the roof of a teaching building.

Mu Ningxue leaned against the railing, gazing at the stars, lost in thought. She only noticed Wang Feng when he quietly approached.

"Are you here?" she asked, her voice gentle as the night breeze.

"Yeah," Wang Feng replied with a gentle smile.

Looking at her stunning profile, he teased, "After all these years, you've become a real beauty. You must have a lot of suitors, right?"

Mu Ningxue was slightly startled, recalling the first kiss she had been "tricked" into as a child, and a faint blush appeared. She turned her head and said calmly, "I have no interest in this kind of thing."

Wang Feng smiled and fell silent, standing beside her to watch the night sky. For a moment, it felt like childhood again—easy and carefree—but with an unspoken distance between them.

After a while, Mu Ningxue spoke softly, "Wang Feng, what have you been through these years? Why have you become so strong?"

Wang Feng looked at the stars, pausing before replying, "It's nothing. I just got lucky and found a path that belongs to me."

"You…" Mu Ningxue began, but words failed her.

Wang Feng glanced at her with a gentle smile. "But you… you have quite a few 'constraints' on you. Have you ever thought about breaking free?"

Mu Ningxue's eyes flickered with bitterness. She knew exactly what he meant. The Mu family was one of the nation's three major aristocratic families, and her branch in Bocheng relied heavily on their favor. To break free from those "shackles" was impossible.

Changing the subject, she asked softly, "Tell me about you and Xinxia. How is she now?"
