◈AT DAVID'S HOUSE◈
"My love!" Michael said happily, smiling, setting the laptop aside on the table as he stood and walked toward David, who closed the door behind him. Michael kissed David repeatedly, hugging him tightly, but David stood still, leaving Michael to pause, noticing he wasn't reacting warmly.
"I know how hectic work can be, but this isn't it, is it? What's bothering you, darling?" Michael asked, taking David's suitcase from him.
"Michael…" David began.
"Wait…" Michael said, rushing to the table, dropping the suitcase beside it, and grabbing a paper before returning to David, who walked a few steps toward him.
"I am three weeks pregnant. We'll be having a baby soon," Michael said, his voice filled with joy, and David's eyes widened, brightening briefly before going cold.
Michael lifted his hand to David's face, searching his eyes and noticing the glint of tears. "What is the matter? Talk to me," he asked softly.
David exhaled shakily, lifting his hand to hold Michael's, letting the touch soothe him. "I had a one-night stand with a girl," he admitted, and Michael's hands slid off David's face as silence fell between them.
"You cheated," Michael said, looking away for a moment before meeting David's eyes again. "That's what makes it hard for you to relate to me, that you had to be this cold…"
"I forgive you," Michael continued, "but…"
"Olivia Campbell," David said, and Michael's eyes widened in shock, his head tilting back slightly.
"How did you know that name?" Michael asked, both of them locking gazes as David unlocked his phone to show a photo, leaving Michael staring in surprise.
"My parents made me go into a relationship with her, and we…" David paused, blinking away, unable to meet Michael's eyes. "We had sex. It was a one-time thing. My dad said I would never take over him because of my sexuality, but his heir had to be from me."
"You're saying…?" Michael asked, searching David's gaze for the meaning behind his words.
"She told me she was pregnant shortly after," David said calmly, meeting Michael's gaze. "Afterward, I explained the reason for everything we shared."
"After that day…" David continued, voice breathy. "Her contact became unreachable, and I later found out she relocated. I knew she was heartbroken and never wanted to give her child to my selfish family. I felt sorry for what I did to her. Years later, after my dad died, my mother had everything to my name, acknowledging she had always been by my side, though it was never expected to show it."
"You…" Michael breathed, tears welling, "are my dad," he said, both locked in each other's gaze.
"I never understood why you never recognized my name…" David said.
"Because she never mentioned it to me," Michael cut in, his voice breaking, touching David so deeply that he closed his eyes to savor it, then opened them immediately to look into Michael's. "You left… That was the only answer she gave to my questions."
"I never left her," David said, hands lifting Michael's face to steady him, searching his eyes. "Believe me," he whispered, silence falling between them for a moment.
"So… I'm carrying the child of my…" Michael's voice broke into a sob as he walked swiftly to the sofa, sitting down while David followed and sat close, holding him as Michael buried his face in his palms, sniffing through his tears.
"Michael…" David began.
"I know…" Michael cut in, raising his head from his palms, tears rolling down his face as he met David's gaze. "We won't work."
"No, Michael," David said, shifting closer, eyes red and wet with tears. "I will never leave you. I love you with everything in me, and I can't live without you here."
"I'm your son…" Michael interrupted.
"I still love you," David said, going down on one knee before Michael, both locked in each other's gaze, the tension thick around them. "Husband. Son. I don't care."
"All I need is for you to stay with me," David continued, his hand on Michael's face, trailing slowly down his chest until it rested on his thigh. "Yes, it is forbidden, but nothing can quench the feelings I have for you, and I will never stop loving you," David said, tears streaming.
"I can't…" Michael breathed, and a sharp intake of breath escaped David, heartbroken. "Lose you for anything or any reason in the world," He finished, and David's eyes widened in surprise as tears rolled down both their faces. Their lips met in a deep, hurried kiss, arms wrapped tightly around each other, lips parting briefly as their foreheads touched.
"I love you," Michael breathed as David leaned closer while he lay back on the sofa.
"A baby," David whispered, his hands resting gently on Michael's belly as he looked down, then back up to meet Michael's gaze, catching the shimmer of tears in his eyes. They smiled at each other, drew their heads together, and kissed deeply, Michael cupping David's face as their mouths explored each other, tasting and caressing with a shared urgency.
