Chapter 1 - Prologue

(Third Person POV)

Within the Distorted Godlands lie many realms that are amalgamations of history and fantasy, creating interesting locations. Seeped with magic and other mysterious powers, the Realms of the Godlands are home to many interesting characters. Not only that, they contain a vast history of magic and mysticism.

One of these realms was the Towering Realm, which contained a few nations surrounded by a vast ocean. The reason for the name of this realm was due to four distinct structures that were scattered throughout the lands, resembling massive grey towers that oozed pure power. It was said that these towers reached past the heavens themselves, hence the name.

While many of the other realms were a blend of history and fantasy, the Towering Realm was mostly based on the modern era, with semi-futuristic elements as well as magical. There would not be many differences between this specific Realm and Modern-Day Earth, which was beyond the Distortion.

In one of the nations that resided in the Towering Realm, there was a city that was controlled by supernatural factions who made up the Underworld. The city was known as Red Star City, named after its founding; a bright red star shone upon the land when a certain individual settled his people in the place.

Nearly a thousand years later, Red Star City was "infested" with a vile plague. That plague, being crime and violence, was controlled by underworld factions that were run by Supernatural Clans. From Werewolves to Vampires and even Fairies, the Underworld's actions defined what Red Star City was.

One of these factions was the Nightsbane Syndicate, one of the most powerful Underworld Factions in Red Star City. They were run by the Nightsbane Pack, a group of powerful Werewolves that descended from a powerful Night King who once ruled the Southern Nation.

They controlled several businesses that affected the city's infrastructure, with their top members being integrated into powerful positions. This group was influential and brutal, with the most violent crimes that were constantly being covered up by the City's officials. They were constantly in turf wars with rival gangs, including other wolf packs and other supernatural races.

The Nightsbane Wolves being dangerous puts targets on their back, even if they aren't directly involved in the Syndicate's businesses. Proof of this was the Nightsbane son and Heir, Lucius Hart. While he was a member of the organization, he did not have a high rank, nor did he involve himself with most of the heavy and dirty work.

Despite this, he had been recently targeted on multiple occasions by rival gangs. On most of them, his fellow members were there to defend the young man, but on the most recent one, Lucius suffered the full brunt of an intended car crash.

At only 18 years of age, Lucius had his first near-death experience. It was quite clear that he was a target of assassination, but by whom was anyone's guess; his family had many enemies.

Right now, Lucius was inside a warehouse at the edge of the city, sitting on a couch as he was bandaged up. His family had removed him from the hospital that had taken him and patched him up, seeing that he would be an easy target for a follow-up attack.

He was holding his waist, which was heavily wrapped in bandages; the white color matched his hair.

He grimaced, "Fuck...." He said, his mismatched eyes looking straight down, "Everything hurts. Can't I be in a bed right now?"

A tall man wearing a dark grey suit stood next to him, his muscular body nearly ripping through his clothes. He had a shaved head and several deep scars covering his cranium. His dark brown eyes were looking right at the young man.

"Sorry, kid." He said with a deep voice, "But the Boss told us to keep you on the move until we find out the ones responsible."

"Well, shit." Lucius sighed, "I've been here an hour, wouldn't there be some trouble by now?"

"Not really." The Man said, "We have the entire perimeter secured, there ain't nothing to worry about."

Lucius looked up, his mismatched eyes staring right at the ceiling, "What a crazy few days, eh?" He said, "That's what I get for being a Hart, huh?"

"I would rather not speak about that," the man said

Lucius had heterochromia; his right eye was an icy blue while his left was a golden amber. Such eye color was quite rare, and it aided in his good looks.

Suddenly, the doors to the warehouse opened, and a black SUV pulled in, stopping right in front of where Lucius was sitting.

The Man stiffened up, his expression hardening as he looked directly ahead of him.

Lucius watched as the back door opened and a young woman exited the vehicle. She was of average height, standing at 5'10. She was wearing a black leather jacket and a white button-up jacket underneath. She also had some black jeans that were ripped in some parts, exposing her fair thighs that were thick and meaty. The woman had a very mature and curvy body, one that would gain the gaze of any man.

But nobody was looking at her. Every single one of the men who had gathered was not making any eye contact with her; her postures were stiffened and tense.

Her long, white hair was fashioned in a side-braid, resting on her left side, with parted bangs covering her forehead. Her tense golden eyes pierced right through Lucius, who was a bit unsettled by this.

She walked over to him, stopping around three feet from him, "Little brother." She said, a cold tone in her voice, "What is this I hear? You were in an accident?"

Lucius nodded, "Yeah." He said, "That's right."

"Norman." She said seriously, "Report."

The tall man who stood next to Lucius cleared his throat, "Our men are investigating at the moment." He said seriously, "The suspects are the Crux Pack and the Dawn Vampires."

"Figure it out," the woman said, "So we can hit them back."

"Sis, you're in a bad mood." Lucius chuckled, "Did you care about me this much?"

"Shut your mouth." She snapped, "I am only annoyed that I had to be interrupted for this. But no matter, I desire bloodshed. And this is the perfect excuse for that, little brother. Nevermind that...Hm...."

She leaned down, sniffing Lucius's hair. Lucius leaned back in response, clearly annoyed by this.

"What?" He asked

"You're awakened, aren't you?" She said with a smile, "Father would be pleased."

"Hm....." Lucius said, "Is it that obvious?"

"To me, it is." She smirked slightly, "So all of this was worth the trouble, the attempts on your life."

"You can say that." He said seriously, "Not only that, Father would be glad about what I obtained."

"Hm?" The woman said with a raised eyebrow

"I'll tell you when I meet with him." Lucius said, "For now, I want to enact my revenge. I have a feeling of who it is, but like Norman said, it is between those two groups."

"And what do you have in mind?" The woman asked, "Hm?"

"Lucy, you can handle the violence should you want." Lucius said with a smile, "Let me hit them in a much more sinister way. The ones who personally made the call."

"I'll fuck their girlfriend or mother."
