Chapter 21 - The $5 Million Watch Is Stolen!

After finishing her cigarette, Victoria Lang stood up and bid farewell to the Harper family.

"Grandma Harper, Mr. and Mrs. Harper, I have some business to attend to at the company, so I'll be leaving now."

Old Madam Harper and the others escorted Victoria Lang to the door.

"Ms. Lang, I'm leaving that financing matter to you."

Old Madam Harper held Victoria Lang's hand and said.

Victoria Lang happily agreed. "Don't worry."

Seeing Victoria Lang leave, Victor Lang also said, "Grandma Harper, Mr. Harper, I should go too."

Seeing that a thief had emerged from the Harper family, and that the mysterious tycoon who had given them the bracelet had yet to appear, the other guests also took their leave.

Soon, only the Harper family remained at the birthday banquet.

Old Madam Harper looked at Susan Harper and asked, "What did Emily say? Why did you only discover he stole things after the divorce?"

Jeff and Emily had an agreement before their marriage that their assets would be separate and that Jeff would not receive a single penny from the Harper family in the event of a divorce.

In the divorce agreement, Emily also took all the money Jeff had recently earned from delivering food.

Susan replied, "Emily said that Jeff booked the presidential suite at the Four Seasons West Lake for a week and spent nearly six hundred thousand dollars, and guessed that he stole your things."

Old Madam Harper was also a little flustered. For the past three years, because her beloved poodle liked Jeff very much, she often invited Jeff to her villa to play with her dog.

Jeff definitely had a chance to make a move at her villa!

Old Madam Harper hurriedly said, "Go back to the villa immediately!"

But Jessica Harper grabbed Old Madam Harper's arm and said, "Grandma, don't rush off! My suitor might be here soon!"

This stunningly beautiful young woman was even fantasizing that the person who gave her the jade bracelet was one of her suitors.

After thinking for a moment, Old Madam Harper said, "Brandon, Robert, Susan, go to my place and see if anything is missing. Michael, Victoria, Jessica, you stay here with me and wait a little longer."

"Yes!"

Brandon drove Robert and Susan to Sterling Heights Villa as fast as he could.

Old Madam Harper's valuables were stored in two rooms in the basement. One room mainly contained jewelry, wine, watches, etc., while the other room mainly contained antiques and calligraphy and paintings.

Although there were many items, each one had a detailed record.

Upon arriving at the basement, Brandon said, "Uncle, let's split up and investigate. You two check the room with the antiques and calligraphy, and I'll check this one."

"Okay." Robert and Susan took their notebooks and went to the room with the antiques and calligraphy to check them one by one.

Similarly, Brandon was also searching in his room with his notebook.

Twenty minutes later, Brandon finished his inspection and found that nothing in his room was missing.

At this moment, Robert had finished his investigation and came over to ask:

"Brandon, we don't lack anything on our side. Is there anything you're missing on your side?"

Brandon was stunned for a moment. Nothing was missing from the room with antiques and calligraphy, and nothing was missing from this room either.

That proved that no valuables were lost from Grandma's house!

This meant that Jeff did not steal anything from the Harper family.

The thought of being beaten up twice by Jeff made Brandon unwilling to clear Jeff's name like that.

In addition, Brandon was also short of money recently, so this was a good opportunity to make some extra cash.

Brandon said, "Oh, I haven't finished checking yet. You'd better check it again to avoid missing anything."

Robert nodded. "Okay, I'll go back and check it again."

Brandon smiled as he watched Robert leave the room.

He closed the door and then quietly took a Richard Mille watch into his hand.

"This is the watch Grandpa wore when he was alive."

This watch was limited to 48 pieces worldwide and was worth over five million dollars!

"Jeff, from now on, you are the thief who stole this watch, hehe."

Brandon put the Richard Mille watch in his pocket.

Two minutes later, Brandon rushed into the room where Robert and Susan were and hurriedly said:

"A watch is missing from my room!"

Robert and Susan rushed over to check and found that a watch worth five million dollars was missing!

Susan said angrily, "No wonder that good-for-nothing Jeff can stay in the presidential suite at the Four Seasons West Lake, that beast!"

At this moment, Robert had already dialed the phone with his mother. "Mom, I found out—Dad's Richard Mille watch is missing!"

Old Madam Harper was so angry she almost turned the birthday banquet into a funeral feast. "Bring him back to me! I'm going to cut off his hands!"

Robert hung up the phone and said to Brandon, "Brandon, Grandma wants us to go and bring Jeff back."

Upon hearing that they were going to find Jeff, Brandon immediately chickened out. "Aren't we going to call the police?"

Robert said, "As you know, Grandma has never liked dealing with the police."

Brandon suddenly pretended to be in great pain, covering his face with his hand. "Ouch, my wound hurts so much. I need to go to the hospital for treatment first. Uncle, you go first—I'll come over in a bit."

With that, Brandon left first.
