Julian Hayes continued talking about the years they had spent apart, his voice carrying that familiar warmth that Lina remembered from childhood.
"Later, I went abroad to study because of my family. I've been overseas for years now. Although I've always kept in touch with Lina, we haven't actually seen each other that often. I finally came back, but Lina has been too busy with work, so I never really had the chance to ask her out for a meal or invite her somewhere."
His tone became increasingly aggrieved as he continued.
"If it weren't for this live stream, Lina probably wouldn't have thought of calling me either."
Although everyone knew that Julian Hayes was the president of Hayes Group and was used to seeing him dressed in expensive suits, sitting behind a desk and handling business matters with ease, there was something unexpectedly endearing about hearing him complain like this.
He sounded almost like a neglected friend demanding attention.
