Lina was a very good cook, and she had always been comfortable in the kitchen. Combined with the fact that David was surprisingly knowledgeable about food, the result was better than any of them had expected.
David swallowed the vegetables in his mouth before speaking.
"It's already at a chef's level."
The other three looked at him.
David continued with complete seriousness.
"The heat is just right. The vegetables are still crisp and refreshing while keeping their natural sweetness. The oyster sauce is also used well. It adds flavour without overpowering the vegetables. It looks like a simple stir fry, but getting it right actually requires quite a bit of skill."
The moment he finished speaking, he noticed that everyone else was staring at him.
David paused.
"What's wrong?"
Roscoe blinked.
"That's the longest sentence you've spoken since you arrived."
Susan nodded vigorously.
"And you sounded so professional."
Lina laughed.
"You've made me blush."
