Chapter 159 - Chapter 158 : Wrath

Anna quietly lowered her head and walked out of the room. The front door closed behind her and the room fell silent.

Dean watched the door for a moment before looking over at Henry. "You should probably go talk to her."

Henry looked at him with an exhausted expression. "Dean..."

"What?"

"Fuck you." He rubbed his forehead. "I'm really not in the mood for your usual crap right now."

Dean held up his hands. The joke died there.

A few moments passed before Dean leaned forward and rested his elbows on the table.

"So... what now? If another bunch of feathered freaks comes knocking, what's the plan?"

Bobby snorted. "The plan is not dyin'. Past that, I'm still workin' on it."

Henry thought for a moment. "I'll disappear for a while. If Heaven's after me, being around you two only paints a bigger target on your backs. If I stay out of sight, they might leave you alone."

Dean immediately shook his head. "Yeah? What about Sam?"

He pointed a thumb toward his brother. "He put a Colt round through Uriel. You really think Heaven's just gonna shrug and forget about that?"

Henry looked at Sam before letting out a quiet sigh. "Probably not." He leaned back. "If you want, the three of us could just disappear for a year."

Dean gave him a look. "A year?"

"Yeah."

Dean let out a dry laugh. "That's not how we work. You know us better than that. We don't run, and we sure as hell don't take vacations while the world's falling apart."

Sam nodded. "Dean's right. If the angels are coming, they're coming. Hiding for a year isn't going to stop the Apocalypse."

Bobby looked at the three of them and grunted. "The hell is wrong with you idjits?" He pointed a finger at the brothers.

"You two act like hidin' for a couple of weeks is some kind of mortal sin."

Dean shrugged. "Bobby, you know us."

"Yeah," Bobby shot back.

"That's exactly the problem. You boys hear the words 'take a break,' and somehow your brains translate that into 'go pick a fight with the biggest son of a bitch in the room.'"

Sam sighed. "We're just saying the problem isn't going away."

"No," Bobby replied, "but neither will you if you're dead." He looked at Henry.

"The kid's got the right idea. Disappear for a while, regroup, figure out your next move."

He turned back to the brothers. "You're hunters, not damn superheroes. Start actin' like it."

Henry slowly rose from his chair and rolled his shoulders. "Looks like I'm finally back to normal." He stretched his arms once.

His eyes suddenly ignited with brilliant white light. The room filled with a blinding glow as two enormous wings of pure white grace spread out from his shoulders.

Threads of white lightning crackled across them before fading into the air.

Henry glanced over his shoulder. "Yep. Full power."

The room had gone completely silent.

Bobby stared at the glowing wings with his mouth slightly open. "...Damn."

Sam couldn't take his eyes off them. Seeing actual wings formed from living Angel only a few feet away was something else entirely.

Dean squinted and raised a hand to shield his eyes. "Okay... can we stop the damn light show? I'm gonna need sunglasses in my own house."

Henry looked at him. "What?"

"You're glowing like a Christmas tree."

Henry glanced down at himself and shrugged. "Oh." The wings dissolved into countless strands of white light that flowed back into his body. Within seconds, the room returned to normal.

Dean blinked until his vision adjusted. "Much better."

Bobby was still staring at Henry. "I've been huntin' damn near my whole life..." He slowly shook his head. "...and somehow you still manage to surprise the hell outta me."

Henry looked around the room. "So... still got any doubts about my identity?" No one answered.

"Well, I'm not possessed, I'm not a demon. I'm just... half angel, half human. I can do a few angel tricks, and yes, Heaven wants me dead."

Dean folded his arms, thinking it over. "All right." He nodded toward the angel blade Henry always carried.

"Angels can die with that thing, right? Besides getting shot with the Colt?"

Henry reached into his coat, pulled out the angel blade, and held it up. "Yeah. One stab with this and an angel's dead." He turned the blade over in his hand.

Bobby frowned. "Then why the hell didn't it kill you?"

Henry looked at the scar beneath his shirt.

"Because I'm only half angel. My human half is a lot stronger than a normal person's, so one stab isn't enough." He slid the blade back into its sheath.

"If it had been a normal Nephilim, they'd probably be dead."

Dean nodded slowly. "So angels can be killed with that thing."

"Pretty much."

Before anyone could say another word, the front door opened.

Anna hurried back inside. Her face had gone pale and she looked like she'd just seen a ghost.

Everyone turned toward her.

"What happened?" Sam asked.

Anna looked at Henry before turning to the rest of them. "I heard them again. The angels." She swallowed nervously. "It wasn't a conversation this time. It was... a message."

The room went completely silent.

Anna took a shaky breath before repeating the words exactly as she had heard them.

"They said... 'Give us Anna and Henry before midnight... or face the wrath of Heaven.'"

No one spoke after that. The message hung over the room like a death sentence.

Are you guys excited? Because I'm definitely looking forward to it. You don't get many chances to write a crossover involving such a classic horror movie.
