Chapter 54 - Chapter 54

Bibi Dong's expression remained unchanged. "My disciple is destined to be extraordinary, whether in strength or in temperament. Take you, for example, your talent is excellent, but if you cannot pass the trials of the Death Concentration Camp, I will not accept you as my disciple."

When that place was mentioned, Hu Liena felt some fear. It was her nightmare. Even though she had already left it for some time, she would occasionally wake up startled from dreams about it.

"But Shidi is only six years old! I was eight when I entered, and I even had my brother looking after me. At his age, I'm afraid he wouldn't survive more than three days inside."

Bibi Dong said firmly, "That's why whether he can survive depends on you. In these coming days, you can pass on some experience to him and let him mentally prepare first."

Hu Liena knew she could not change Bibi Dong's mind, so she helplessly agreed.

After Hu Liena left, Bibi Dong revealed a complicated expression.

That place was the best at tempering a person. As her disciple, Jiang Chen must go in. Without the mentality of a powerhouse, how could he become a true powerhouse?

Even Hu Liena had stayed there for three years back then, stepping out over the corpses of others.

Although she cherished Jiang Chen, if Jiang Chen only had cultivation talent but his temperament did not meet her requirements, she would not rule out abandoning him later.

That was why she had arranged for Hu Liena to impart experience and for Jiang Chen to learn some combat experience from Qian Renxue.

...

Jiang Chen had a face full of depression. Making him go beat up Qian Renxue again—what kind of cultivation was this?

But he could not refuse Bibi Dong's order. After thinking about it, Qian Renxue had never struck him with killing intent, so the depression in his heart eased a little.

If he had to go, then he would go. At worst, it would just hurt a bit. And after coming back, there would still be Bibi Dong gently applying medicine. It seemed like it wasn't a loss.

Thinking this way, the depression in Jiang Chen's heart vanished completely.

He recalled how, when Qian Renxue had chased him earlier, that sudden burst of speed had made his eyes light up.

"At that time, I should have gained a new insight into the Three Thousand Thunder Movements," Jiang Chen thought to himself. He did not go back and immediately started trying it outside.

But unfortunately, no matter how he tried, he could not recreate that state from before.

His face was full of disappointment. He even felt a little regret that he had not let Qian Renxue chase him longer back then.

"Never mind. Tomorrow I'll let her chase me again. Maybe after a few more times, I can grasp that feeling."

...

When he returned to the room, Hu Liena had already come back.

Seeing Jiang Chen covered in dirt and mess, Hu Liena showed some disgust and quickly pushed him into the bathroom.

"If you don't wash clean, you're not allowed on the bed tonight!"

Hu Liena's threatening voice came from inside the bathroom, leaving Jiang Chen crying and laughing. He had no intention of getting into bed anyway.

After washing thoroughly, he walked out. By then, Hu Liena had already set out the meal.

Here, three meals a day were delivered by attendants. Hu Liena had already told him about it before, so he was not surprised.

The delicious dishes and craftsmanship made Jiang Chen praise them endlessly.

"The teacher is preparing to send me to the Death Concentration Camp? What kind of place is that?" Jiang Chen asked in surprise.

Hu Liena put down her chopsticks and said gravely, "This is Spirit Hall's place for training geniuses. It can be said that anyone who comes out alive will become one of Spirit Hall's most valued talents. But surviving and coming out is not easy at all. With your current strength, if you go in, you'll be killed in minutes."

"Isn't the place for training geniuses the Spirit Hall Academy? Why is there suddenly another concentration camp?" Jiang Chen asked in confusion.

Hu Liena shook her head. "It's different. The Death Concentration Camp focuses on cultivating a genius's temperament. Anyone who comes out of there is inevitably decisive in killing and possesses an extremely tough mentality. One of them can match three others, far beyond those geniuses who only cultivate in the academy."

Jiang Chen was curious. "Older sister, did you kill many people inside back then?"

Hu Liena nodded. "I was in there for three years. Nine times I nearly died. In total, I killed twenty people of the same age. In my batch, only three people ultimately passed, and I was one of them. So, you're going in, really is nine chances of death to one of survival, especially since you're still so young."

Her face was full of worry. She quite liked this little shidi and did not want to watch Jiang Chen die.

Jiang Chen, however, was not worried. After all, if it were just people of the same age, he had never feared anyone.

Seeing Jiang Chen's nonchalant attitude, Hu Liena could not help saying, "Aren't you afraid at all?"

"I'm so scared, scared that I might accidentally kill everyone inside," Jiang Chen joked with a grin.

Hu Liena rolled her eyes. "If you go in with that mindset, I guarantee you won't survive three days."

Jiang Chen restrained his smile and said, "Then, older sister, just impart some experience to me."

Hu Liena said, "My only piece of experience is one sentence: Do not trust anyone. Always maintain vigilance."

Jiang Chen silently committed it to memory. Although he was confident in his strength, he would not be arrogant. He had seen plenty of cases where people capsized in the gutter.

After finishing the meal, Hu Liena began sitting in meditation to cultivate.

"Little Chen, if you want to become strong, diligence is essential. Come, cultivate together with your older sister."

By now, she was already sitting on the bed. Because her legs were crossed, the thin, soft pant legs rode up, revealing two sections of fair calves. Some wonderful places were faintly visible, and the seductive aura was stronger than ever before.

"Ahem… older sister, I prefer cultivating in open spaces." After saying that, Jiang Chen fled out through the balcony.

The room was on the second floor, and going out from their balcony led straight to the rooftop of another building.

Jiang Chen sat down, glanced back at the balcony not far away, and let out a long breath. As expected of someone with innate charming bones, she truly could captivate anyone, young or old. Even he, a child, had nearly been unable to resist.

He knew Hu Liena was not doing it on purpose; it was simply her natural state.

Hu Liena followed him out and stood beside Jiang Chen, puzzled. "This is the first time I've seen someone who prefers cultivating outside."

When Jiang Chen turned his head, that appearance immediately frightened Hu Liena.

Two pure white, sharp fangs were exposed. His eyes were pitch-black like ink, and his sharp nails glinted with cold light.

"Older sister, I'm really not afraid of you. My martial soul is suited to cultivating under moonlight."

Hu Liena curiously leaned closer and reached out to touch Jiang Chen's two fangs, surprised. "So they're real. Little Chen, these two fangs of yours aren't for biting people, are they?"

"They are for biting people. There's deadly poison inside, too."

Hu Liena suddenly stepped back several paces. She had heard Jiang Chen say before that his martial soul came with deadly poison; she never imagined it was released through the fangs.

"Then older sister won't disturb your cultivation. If you're tired, remember to come back and sleep."

After saying that, Hu Liena jumped back onto the balcony and returned to the bed to continue cultivating.

In the middle of the night, Jiang Chen was awakened by the urge to urinate. When he went back to use the toilet, he was instantly stunned by the scene on the bed...
