For several moments, nobody moved.
The old parchment remained on the stone between them, its faded letters exposed to the morning light.
The sixth custodian does not keep the book. He keeps the path.
Eshaan read the sentence again.
Then again.
He had expected another clue.
What he had not expected was for the clue to contradict the assumption he had been carrying for weeks.
The Sixth Seat was Ujjayini. The Sixth Book concerned Gravitation and Cosmology. Eshaan had assumed that if anything from the old tradition remained in Ujjayini, it would be a manuscript, perhaps a collection of astronomical tables or some hidden copy of the Sixth Book.
But this was different.
The custodian did not keep the Book.
He kept the path.
"Explain," Bhaskaracharya said.
Govinda looked at him.

"You just showed us the inscription."
"I can tell you what it says. I cannot tell you what the writer intended."
Bhaskara frowned.
"Then why were you searching this place?"
