Chapter 3 - Lemonosaur and the Manapie

Elanore whistled and walked through the forest with a cheerful gait. The foliage was much different Earth's. While many of the trees were green, there were blue trees and purple trees. The leaves were also enormous, reminding the vampire of her time studying dinosaurs in school.

It wasn't long until she stumbled on one such creature. In front of her, a new nemisis towered. It was at least triple her height, and it had chunky hips. The creature roared at her, its feet stomping loudly on the ground. The rumbling shook the nearby trees, and the thing showed of its sharp teeth.

An allosaur?

"[Inspect]!"

Race: [Magic Allosaur]

Age: 431

Sex: Male

Level: 80

Health: 1,321,343

Stamina: 789,645

Mana: 589,978

Huh, this one is even higher leveled than that dire bear. Though, at the same time, it's still not even close to my status. A magic allosaur is still a cool phenomenon.

This time, Ella did not want to try magic again after the last time. She didn't want to puncture a giant crater in the ground, nor was she keen on trying one of her greater spells. Instead, she wanted to try out her warrior class.

She twirled her staff like a seasoned performer and charged towards the dinosaur monster. This time, the vampire tried to intentionally slow down her perception, and it worked.

The allosaur's tail whipped towards her, crackling in the air. Bolts of golden lightning arched from the appendage, and the tail glowed yellow.

Ella blocked the attack with her staff, channeling mana into her feet to keep herself grounded. The lightning dispersed into the air and eventually hit the ground around her, and the beast looked shocked that his tail wavered, never finding the kill.

"Is this the first time you've ever been stunned like this? Perhaps my beauty is a real shocker?"

The allosaur roared even louder than before and lunged towards Ella with his jaws. The large beast's head snapped at the air where the vampire's head used to be, yet she'd already fled from the position. The loud reverberation of the creature's teeth smacking the air echoed into the forest.

Ella slid beneath the monster's belly like a baseball player trying to get to second. She twirled her staff again for good measure and style points, and then she slammed it upwards as hard as she could.

The pink crystal tip smashed against the allosaur's stomach, and the effect was immediate. It penetrated, and the air around it cut from the force. An enormous hole ripped through the center of the dinosaur's body. It continued and exited out of the beast's back.

Blood and insides sprayed into the air like a fountain, and much of it splattered on Ella's face.

The dinosaur fell straight down on top of her, and she stood there in the middle of the hole. The surrounding dinosaur flesh became like a donut, encasing her on all sides. Though, as luck would have it, there was a single shining stone where the creature's heart should be.

"[Cleanse!]" She shouted, purifying the blood and pieces of stomach stuck on her face and body. "What the fuck? Ew, ew, ew!"

At the very least, she was glad that no part of her felt like vomiting. She rushed to rip the stone from the creature's flesh, and she cleansed it as well. She channeled a mist of pink magic, and pushed it over the dinosaur's corpse, sucking it into her inventory.

"Bleh, that is pretty gross in real life." She took a moment to reel herself in. Though, her desire was to taste the allosaur's magic stone. "I wonder what this one will taste like?"

She pulled it out and held it up to the sky, this one shining yellow slightly. It was like a large transparent lemon, but the size was much more impressive. She was surprised she could carry it at all for a second. The thing was bigger than a watermelon.

"[Telekenisis]," Ella said, invoking her spell, and making the crystal float in front of her. She pulled it towards her mouth, and she chomped down again with her fangs.

The sweet and sour insides poured onto her tongue, and she began to gulp it down. Hmm, this one kind of tastes like a lemon custard? Out of all things…

Elanore sucked all of the juice out of the mana fruit in front of her, eventually filling herself to the brim.

She sighed with relief. "Oh, that hit the spot. I wonder if I should start naming these flavors? Perhaps I could call this one Lemonosaur. Allolemon? I will consider the naming conventions later."

The vampire was curious what would happen if she unleashed her strongest spell, but she decided better. Even I know that would be a bad idea. Especially if those were used to kill literal gods in the game. Wait a second...Does this make me a god killer?

Elanore shrugged. "Whatever, it's all good." She looked back down at the river, remembering her task at hand. "How big is this mountain anyway? I could try to fly down it, right?"

Now that I think about it...I could try flying. Though, the vampire wanted to save that ability a little longer. I want to preserve the mystery of flight, and I might miss something interesting if I start flying around everywhere.

"Oh! I know!" She put the staff between her legs and sat down on it as if it was a witch's broom. Then she channeled mana. "[Fly]."

The witch started hovering above the ground. "I guess I can just fly low, kind of like a drone. Do drones fly low?"

Nobody answered her musing, but she channeled more mana into her staff, until the crystal pink tip glowed. "I am glad you understand me, and thank you for answering my question. What was your name again?"

She read over the staff's name, and she sighed. "That's not a very good name. I can't call you Staff of the Manapire Goddess. What even is that? Why did I name you that? Oh! I know, I will call you Manapie!"

Once again, she channeled mana into the staff, and the tip glowed pink. "That's right! Who's my cute little Manapie? You are!"

The vampire hovered above the ground on her staff and continued following the flowing river. She noticed that after her tussle with the dinosaur, other monsters and animals didn't want to approach her. She'd firmly shaken their entire belief system of who was king of the forest.

Who would believe that the king was a girl riding on a pink staff?

"I really need to try mixing in different flavors next time." She checked her inventory again, seeing that there was only the dead parts of the allosaur and bear in there. "Ugh, the worst part of losing everything is I no longer have a cauldron. Why did I lose everything anyway?"

She flew over a tall cliff where the water poured down and continued. It created an enormous waterfall where the vampire could see a rainbow gathering at the bottom. In the basin, there were a few creatures drinking.

Large antlered deer creatures drank from the water source, and they paid no mind to the woman floating above them. Either that, or they hadn't noticed her.

Elanore stared at the deer, trying to figure out the differences between them and their Earth variant. She saw that these ones were striped. They held brown and purple stripes, the brown matching the ground, and the purple matching much of the plant life.

Not only that, they were at least double the size of even the largest deer she'd seen on Earth.

"[Inspect]"

Race: [Great Poison Dear]

Age: 89

Level: 35

Health: 105,645

Stamina: 54,384

Mana: 28,679

These ones are poisonous? Though, their levels are even lower than that bear. She looked down at her staff. "What do you think, my deerly beloved? Should we do a little hunting?"

The staff glowed in response, and Elanore sighed. "I know. We should not over hunt. Bleh, bleh, bleh, but don't you think this is pretty strange? We've been near this river for a while and haven't seen a single person! What's the deal with that?"

In response to her shouting, the deer became startled and took off running away from the river.

Elanore laughed as she watched them flee into the undergrowth. She lowered herself towards the large rocks near the waterfall. "I wonder if any of these would be good to use in a cauldron? Perhaps a metal cauldron would be better?"

She tried to reel in her power as much as possible and smacked the rock face with her staff. Cracks crawled along its surface, and it split down the middle, breaking into a bunch of different pieces on either half.

"Huh, I guess I could try this thing out for now."

She stored her staff in her inventory, and she bent down and hoisted a large piece of rock into the air. Though, there was hardly any reason to expend so much effort at all once she realized that it was like lifting a feather.
