The rain always came without warning.
Aanya stood near her bedroom window, watching the silver drops race down the glass. The sky was dark, but not scary—just quiet. Like it was hiding a secret.
Her phone buzzed.
Unknown Number: "Don't go to school tomorrow."
Her heart skipped.
She stared at the message, waiting for another one. Nothing came.
"Who even sends something like this?" she whispered.
Outside, thunder rolled softly. The lights flickered once.
Aanya tried to laugh it off. Maybe it was a prank. Maybe one of her classmates trying to be funny. But something about the message felt different… serious.
She picked up her diary from the desk and opened to a fresh page.
11th February
Got a strange message today. It said not to go to school tomorrow. I don't know why, but I feel like something is about to change.
Just then, her phone buzzed again.
Unknown Number: "If you go… you'll see what you were never meant to see."
A cold wave ran through her body.
What did that even mean?
She stepped back from the window—and froze.
Across the street, under the streetlight, someone was standing. Not moving. Just watching her house.
The rain poured harder, blurring the figure.
And then—
The streetlight went out.
