Louis tries to stay as calm as possible because...
[I am all tied up, there is literally nothing I can do in this situation]
The doctor's cloak is opened, and underneath there are various puppet-like arms with strings poking out of them being used to scan and poke me with different tools he brought.
The nurse seems to be casting some magic in the air, as I see what seems to be some kind of magic screen from where I am. She keeps peeking from the side of the screen, mumbling something, taking notes, and looking back to the screen.
And finally, the teacher is looking at me with a face that is basically whispering, "Go, try something, make my day."
[Is this what getting jumped feels like?]
After a few grueling minutes of testing and checking, the nurse disables her magic and turns to Louis.
"Hmm, this is very peculiar; no matter the metrics we check, the compatibility is 100%. Such a thing is only possible with profound understanding between the called specter and your soul. Do you perhaps have a twin?"
"No, I do not."
Hearing this, the teacher scoffs, "What would that have to do with anything? It would be a twin in another dimension if that was the case."
"That might be it actually?"
"Really? Has something like that happened before?"
"Not that I know, but that seems to be the only thing that could make this reasonable."
Fuyuko taps her closed fist in her open hand and then grabs Louis' shoulders.
"Now, listen here right now, I have enough info to know what we can do with you, so pay attention!"
"Ok, just go ahead and tell me! Y-you are a bit too close!"
"Hm, anyway," Fuyuko backs off and wags her finger. "So, now we are sure you can see specters and have proper soul control, you should be able to use aura skills as well as the sorcemy you were able to use before. Tomorrow, first period, you are going to the gym so you can start aura training with your new teammates!"
"What is sorcemy?"
"..."
"What?"
"Huh, that was... the one thing you could basically do before... Remember anything? Can you extend the soul cursor?"
"The what?"
Everyone else in the room is baffled by the answer; the first to interject is Doctor Evans.
Is all of this really just to bring him back to square one? That's rough, kid."
The nurse then interjects, gently saying,
"Hey, don't worry; I am sure you will remember over time. The kind of training you had before to use those skills creates soul memory; it's like riding a bicycle-you will pick right back up quickly."
"I don't really get it, but it seems I had some powers before?"
Fuyuko shakes her head. "Even if you can't use that anymore, it might be fine. The amount of aura you can control now is way higher than the amount of mana you could use. It might just be a price you had to pay, like mixing up your memories." Right then Fuyuko claps her hands, and a line stretches from her heart directly to the center of her hands, causing light waves.
*Dispel*
The bindings surrounding Louis warp around themselves into a group of small coils.
"Can you stand up?"
"I might just need to stretch for a bit." Louis stumbles a bit but is glad to finally be free to move around.
Doctor Evans pats his back and says, "If you feel any complications, feel free to come back in here. I and Mirian will help you to the best of our abilities!"
"Haha... Thanks, doc." [I will try to come here as little as possible, this place is scary]
"Ahem, and also, you can come back if you just want to chat. You might not remember it properly yet, but we've known each other for quite a while; you even used to work in here for a bit."
"I... did...? Did I get paid...?"
"HAHA, yeah, of course that's the first thing you think about; you are you, after all!"
Teacher Fuyuko crosses her arms and comments,
"Hey, who wants to work for free nowadays? The kid is right! By the way, you are free to go now then. If you need anything, you should be able to chat with Miss Yamashita; she is back in the auditorium helping clean up."
"Okay! Thanks, everyone! Talk to you all later."
"Bye." "See ya."
As he leaves the room, the nurse comments, "It's great; he is doing well. Good kid; he seems more polite now at least? But it still seems to be just him."
While looking at the door, the doctor says, "Indeed, he still has that same personality, just a bit more talkative now."
The teacher stretches, her stomach rumbling audibly. "Can we just go eat something now? It's been a long day?"
"What about the other guy?" The nurse looks to the other bed.
"Oh, there is still that? I'll bring some food; you can check him out meanwhile-he seems fine, though sleeping like a baby."
"Well then."

Back to Louis, after walking about for a bit, he realizes he has no idea where he is going, as he doesn't remember the building layout and has walked mindlessly for long enough to forget the way to where he came from.
[What was I thinking just walking out? I should have just asked for some help to go back to the auditorium! Also, who the hell is Yamashita?]
[But from what they said, maybe I am just confused? When I walked out, for just a second I felt like I knew where I was going...]
[Yamashita? I think I know her...]
[If so, then... did I really die? Did I transmigrate? Did I just fuse with another me?]

The more he thinks about this, the more he feels a headache coming on, so he then decided

And so he just walks with no destination, just for a bit, and while looking around, he feels more familiar with the place.
[I've been here before... was it when I was on a stretcher? Am I walking in circles?]

Looking forward, he sees a pair of big doors; he has arrived in the auditorium! There he sees two people picking up chairs and sorting them out; one is Laura, the sane black-haired girl in a shrine maiden outfit from before, and the other, a very tall brunette girl with jeans, a crop top, and a jacket.
[Oh, there she is!]
As he walks toward them, Laura is getting visibly upset; the tall girl is the first to speak when he gets there.
"What is it? As you are walking around, it seems you will be working with us now. How are you feeling, Louis?"
"Uh yeah, I am doing better; my memory is still scrambled, but I think I am getting the hang of stuff・ We know each other, right?"
"Ha, yeah! Just for 2 years! So a little bit!"
"I... I am really sorry; I know I am familiar with you, but I can't remember your name..."
"Pffft! HAHAha." The tall girl shakes her head while laughing. "I can't, Laura. Can you believe this guy?"
In a very dry tone, Laura responds immediately, "No!" Her loud response cools the mood instantly.
"...Uh, sorry? What did you need again?" The tall girl scratches her head and responds meekly.
"Yeah, I am a bit lost. The teacher told me to speak with Laura if I needed help. I think I should go get some rest or something; tomorrow I need to go to the gym and talk with my team...."
"You are at the right place then; your team will be me and Laura after all! Well then, Laura, can you take him to the dormitory? I'll sort the rest of the stuff here then."
"Let us go then; I'll speak with you later as well. Farewell." Laura puts down the chairs she was sorting and just straight up drags Louis by his sleeve.
"Uh, ok, See you later?"
As he gets dragged by Laura, Louis hears the tall girl shout from the back.
"Sure! And by the way, you have some homework!" She said with a mischievous smile.
"Homework?" Louis tries to stop for a bit, but for some reason he feels he shouldn't break free from Laura's hold, and she is picking up pace!
"YEAH! You have to remember my name tomorrow! If you manage to, I'll give you a gift."
"Shut up! Let's go!" Laura is basically run-walking now.
"Ok, ok, sure!"
"HAHAHA." The girl's laughter can be heard from the corridor.
Once they get a bit far away from the auditorium, Laura releases him.
"Just follow me now, understood?"
"Yes, ma'am." Louis jokingly does a small bow.
That seems to be the thing that finally sets her off.
"You... Who even are you anymore now!!!"
"Uh... sorry?"
"You didn't need to go through this; now it feels like I don't even know you anymore! They don't even care if you are even the same person anyway. It didn't need to be like this!"
"..."
"Is your soul even Louis, or are you just pretending to be? WHO ARE YOU?"
