Chapter 9 - Chapter 9: Remember This Name

Saint Gudjoa fell to the ground.

He felt like his guts were turning upside down, and his chest was about to be torn open.

It hurt so much!

Then, he vaguely saw Rowan looking down at him, and he also heard what he said.

Alabasta...an Empire?

He had never heard of any country on this sea daring to call itself an empire!

Not many World Nobles understood politics, but Saint Gudjoa liked to read in his free time, so he was even more shocked.

The difference between "Empire" and "Kingdom"....

Kingdoms--there were them everywhere on this sea.

Any island, as long as it had enough people living on it and was willing to join the World Government and pay taxes to the World Government, could establish a recognized "Kingdom."

But the word "Empire" often meant independence.

Independence from whom?

Independence from the World Government.

This was a situation that the World Government would never allow!

Because of this, Saint Gudjoa couldn't help but widen his eyes.

Did this man want to lead the country of Alabasta to rebel!

No, no, he already hit me, hit a World Noble! He must be rebelling! I...I want to live, I don't want to die yet!

While Saint Gudjoa was desperately thinking about how to survive.

Nearby, a guard secretly took out a small Den Den Mushi from his pocket, intending to press the button on it.

An attack on a World Noble was definitely a major event that would shock the world.

The impact would be so great that the highest fighting force of the Marine Headquarters--a Marine Admiral--would personally take action!

The guard took out this Den Den Mushi to contact the Marine Headquarters and ask them to send a Marine Admiral for support.

But just as he was about to press the button, a few grains of sand suddenly appeared in front of him.

Looking up, he saw a Sand Soldier with a cold expression standing in front of him, holding a spear in one hand and reaching out to him with the other.

He crooked his finger.

"..."

No words.

The guard understood what the Sand Soldier meant, without any other extra thoughts, and immediately handed over the Den Den Mushi that was contacting the Marines.

The Den Den Mushi fell into the hands of the Sand Soldier, sand got into the earpiece, and the internal lines were completely twisted, losing the function of communication.

The Sand Soldier put the Den Den Mushi aside, then tilted his head at the guard.

The guard understood.

He immediately lay down on the ground, tilted his head, and pretended to be unconscious.

Whoosh...

The Sand Soldier then disappeared, turning into a pile of yellow sand and returning to Rowan's body.

Seeing this situation, Saint Gudjoa became even more flustered. Without the support of a Marine Admiral, he was now in a desperate situation.

After all, even if the World Government would severely punish the criminals who killed a World Noble, if he died, nothing would be left!

He trembled and backed away.

"You, don't come over here! Who are you?"

Rowan lowered his gaze, too lazy to look at Saint Gudjoa's fat and ugly body.

"I am Ryan Rowan."

He said slowly, "Remember this name, and then get out of my country."

Huh?!

Saint Gudjoa immediately reacted, as if he had grabbed a life-saving straw.

He's letting me go?

Ha! I knew it, there can't be a crazy person in this world who dares to kill a World Noble!

When I return to the Holy Land of Mary Geoise, I will have the Marines come and arrest you rebels and turn you all into slaves!

Saint Gudjoa thought to himself, but said with a smile:

"I, I'll leave right away!"

With the support of several guards, Saint Gudjoa ignored the scorching sun outside and scrambled out of the Alabasta Palace.

The riot seemed to have ended.

But both Cobra and Crocodile felt that the trouble had just begun.

The World Nobles would not let this go easily.

Rowan was about to face one of the biggest troubles on this sea.

Even with the Nefertari family, who were royalty, vouching for him, it would be difficult to quell the anger of the World Nobles.

Cobra rubbed his forehead and ordered to his subordinates, "In any case, first let all the docks pay attention to the movements on the sea, and at the same time prepare a ship for our ancestor, just in case."

He felt that this ancestor of Alabasta still underestimated the trouble of the World Nobles!

That's right, how could someone from eight hundred years ago understand the "World Nobles" of today?

Letting Rowan leave was the worst plan, but it was also the last resort.

Crocodile appeared from the corner upon hearing this, and teased Rowan, "Old man from eight hundred years ago, welcome to the sea, welcome to joining the ranks of wanted criminals!"

To his surprise, Rowan seemed to care more about another point.

"Hey, hey, I was very young when I was buried!"

Then, Rowan grinned and asked Cobra.

"What's for dinner?"

...

Alabasta was a super big country, with a total land area of one million square kilometers.

Even with animal transportation, it would take at least a day or so to travel from Alubarna to the nearest port.

And now Rowan had destroyed the World Noble's communication facilities, it would take them at least two or three days to get to the nearest Marine branch to call for support.

Cobra and Crocodile both felt that Rowan judged that there was enough time to leave, which was why he seemed so calm.

Because of the time and the World Nobles, dinner was not lavish, and even a little simple, but Rowan ate it very happily.

It had a nostalgic taste, a unique flavor of Alabasta.

During the meal, Cobra told Igaram about Rowan, and the latter was equally shocked by this.

He had never heard of any race that had a lifespan of eight hundred years, let alone that the appearance of this ancestor was so young!

...

After dinner.

An ordinary room in the palace.

Rowan stubbornly dragged the sorrowful Cobra to play a few games of Alabasta military chess with him.

This was a long-standing chess game, and Rowan liked to use it to pass the time.

Over the past eight hundred years, the rules of this military chess had not changed much.

In addition to the two playing chess, there were also two others watching from the sidelines.

One was Princess Vivi, who was very worried after hearing that the ancestor had a conflict with the World Nobles.

The other was Crocodile, who was curious about Rowan's next plans and wanted to prepare early.

Vivi moved a stool and sat next to the two adults.

Crocodile leaned quietly against the wall, smoking a cigar and looking out the window.

Cobra had let the servants leave, and then planned to let Vivi go back to her room to rest.

After all, he was not sure if his daughter should hear the next conversation.

Rowan picked up a chess piece, shook his head with a smile, "It's okay, it's just chess, Vivi and little Crocodile can stay."

Cobra smiled wryly, "If it was really as simple as playing chess, that would be good."

Rowan stared with his eyes wide, a little surprised, "Are you a genius? This military chess is very hard, I studied it for a long time back then!"

"Ancestor, please don't joke around."

Cobra shook his head helplessly, "You know what I'm talking about."

"What? The World Nobles?"

Rowan still smiled, looking very relaxed.

Cobra dropped a chess piece and frowned, "Ancestor, I must remind you again, the status of the World Nobles in this era may be far beyond your imagination."

"Of course I know."

Rowan nodded.

He looked up at Cobra and said slowly, "So, I told him the name 'Ryan Rowan', and he will take this name back to the Holy Land of Mary Geoise."

"But..."

Cobra wanted to say something.

But Rowan picked up a chess piece, shook it, and interrupted Cobra.

He said with a smile:

"The meaning represented by the name Ryan Rowan is also far beyond your imagination."

A chess piece fell, and the balance of victory and defeat on the chessboard instantly tilted!
