Chapter 271 - Chapter 271: Leaving on a Dragon

Watching Harry and Ron climb onto the Dragon's back, Amanda and Hermione exchanged a glance. One turned to face left, the other to face right, and the next moment, both instinctively raised their wands.

"Diffindo!" ×2

Two flashes of magic later, the two chains binding the Dragon snapped.

Amanda and Hermione didn't hesitate, rushing back to the Dragon and extending their hands to the two boys.

Harry and Ron simultaneously reached out and pulled Amanda and Hermione onto the Dragon's back.

"Everyone hold on tight!"

Amanda shouted, "I'm about to wake the Dragon."

As her voice fell, Harry and Ron immediately spread their arms, clinging tightly to the Dragon's back. Even Hermione pressed herself as close as possible to the Dragon.

Amanda took a deep breath, drew her wand, and touched its tip to the Dragon's back.

"Rennervate."

The light of the spell flickered before the four of them. Amanda quickly put away her wand and also hugged the Dragon's back tightly with both hands.

The suddenly awakened Dragon began sniffing its surroundings, trying to find the humans who had just attacked it.

But strangely, it clearly smelled those people here, so why couldn't it find them now?

"It's looking for us."

From the Dragon's back, Ron whispered the fact.

"Shh," Hermione quickly shook her head, signaling Ron to be quiet.

Ron quickly shut his mouth. The Dragon searched in vain, but it did notice something amiss with itself.

Normally, if it moved like this, the chains binding it would have rattled long ago.

Why was there no sound today?

Attempting to move its legs, the Dragon finally realized that the chains that had bound it had disappeared at some point.

"Roar!"

The Dragon's furious roar tore through the quiet of Gringotts' underground. Having been confined beneath Gringotts since birth, the Dragon constantly turned its head, searching for a way to burst out of the ground.

Seeing this, Hermione unhesitatingly raised her wand, aimed at the ceiling diagonally ahead, and cast a Digging Charm.

Instantly, a large hole opened in the ceiling diagonally in front of the four of them.

The Dragon was also attracted by the tremendous sound and turned its head in that direction.

Amanda quickly reacted, raising her wand and casting another Digging Charm. Harry and Ron followed suit.

The four of them worked without pause, finally, after casting three Digging Charms in turns,

the scent of fresh air wafted to their noses.

This significantly lifted everyone's spirits. The four Young Wizards put away their wands, looking at each other, all anticipating the Dragon's ascent through the large hole.

The Dragon did not disappoint Amanda and the others. After sensing the fresh air diagonally ahead, it seemed to realize that if it burst out from there, the freedom it had never known awaited it.

"Roar!"

A furious roar sounded, and the Dragon slowly spread its wings, beating them for the first time in its life as it slowly ascended.

Amanda and the other three exchanged glances, hugging the Dragon's back even tighter.

Although it had never flown since birth, for a Dragon, flight was an innate ability, an ability etched into its genes.

After flapping its wings a few times in the air, the Dragon flew forward unsteadily, flying unsteadily towards its freedom.

It wasn't until the Dragon successfully flew into the upward passage that the four Young Wizards, including Amanda, breathed a sigh of relief, though not completely.

And their hands gripping the Dragon's back grew tighter and tighter, because as the Dragon flew upwards through the passage, it continuously collided with the surrounding walls. To avoid being thrown off, Amanda and the others could only cling desperately to its back.

"Roar!"

A furious roar came from the large hole in the floor of the Gringotts lobby. The Goblins, who had just managed to get up and gather, quickly scattered again. They were all too familiar with this sound; it was from their Gringotts underground Dragon.

How could it have been released? Who released it? Was it those four Death Eaters?

What exactly were they here for? If it was to steal money, why would they bother with that Dragon for no reason?!

The next moment, accompanied by a deafening roar, the Dragon burst out from the large hole in the Gringotts floor. This massive creature stretched its wings, its limbs, and even spat out a blast of scorching Dragonfire at its surroundings.

The Goblins at this moment were all hiding far away, not daring to approach. This Dragon probably hated them the most right now. Approaching this freed Dragon was simply suicide.

The scorching Dragonfire rapidly raised the temperature in the Gringotts lobby. The Dragon didn't stay there for long. After another furious roar,

it smashed through the Gringotts main doors and burst out.

The large number of Aurors, who had received word from the Aurors on the scene and had deliberately delayed their "arrival" for support, were stunned when they saw the Dragon smash through the Gringotts main doors.

"Merlin..."

"So, so, so, there really is a Dragon under Gringotts!"

"It's just like them, I guess, amazing..."

"Roar!" Under the Dragon's furious roar, the Aurors collectively took two steps back. It wasn't that they were afraid of the Dragon or couldn't defeat it.

It was because they saw the four people clinging to the Dragon's back: Miss Amanda and Minister Granger wanted to leave on this Dragon.

The Aurors instantly understood their meaning. Why wait? They should quickly clear the way.

Flapping its wings, the Dragon soared high into the sky, flying out of Diagon Alley, out of London, and into a wilderness. Only then did Amanda confidently reach out and grasp Hermione's wrist to her right.

"Hermione, grab Harry and Ron. We'll Apparate directly from here."

"Okay," Hermione responded loudly, trying to make her voice heard over the howling wind.

She reached out to her right and gripped Harry's arm tightly. "Harry, grab Ron! We need to go!"

"Got it!"

Harry reached out to the side. After confirming he had a firm grip on Ron, Hermione turned and nodded to Amanda.

Amanda's lips moved slightly, and the four instantly vanished from the Dragon's back, reappearing in the Minister's office at the Ministry of Magic.

"Merlin's Dragon-hide dress!" Ron leaned back against Hermione's desk, raising a hand to vigorously rub his face.

He felt his face was almost frozen. Harry and Hermione next to him made the same movements. Especially Hermione, who already disliked flying, was even more certain after this ordeal that she disliked flying.

It wasn't until Amanda and the others removed their masks and Amanda changed their clothes back that someone "hurriedly" came to report. Hearing three short knocks on the door, Hermione tidied her hair and smiled towards the entrance.

"Come in."

As her voice fell, the Head of the Auror Office quickly walked in the next second.

His face showed obvious urgency and haste, but Amanda could tell at a glance that these emotions were completely feigned. In reality, he knew very well who had just broken into Gringotts and released a Dragon.

"Minister Granger, a very serious break-in occurred at Gringotts just now. After investigation, Bellatrix Lestrange's vault was burned down, and its contents were destroyed."

"That serious?" Hermione furrowed her brows, also feigning an extremely worried expression.

"You will cooperate with Gringotts to investigate this matter as soon as possible. Also, notify the Goblin in charge of Gringotts that I wish to meet with them regarding Gringotts' service, security issues, and their attitude towards Wizard clients."

"Understood, Minister Granger, I'll go right away." The Head of the Auror Office immediately nodded in agreement, turned, and walked out of the Minister's office.

With the Gringotts matter concluded, Amanda sent Harry and Ron back to their respective homes.

Harry went straight upstairs after returning to the Dursley family home. The Dursley family didn't care at all what their nephew had been out doing.

In contrast, when Ron returned home, he was immediately surrounded by his family. Ginny curiously scrutinized Ron, and after a while, finding no issues, she simply gave up scrutinizing and directly asked,

"What did Senior Lin Yue take you out to do just now?"

Only she and her mother, Molly Weasley, were home now. Fred and George had gone to Diagon Alley to run their shop; otherwise, they would certainly be among those stopping Ron to inquire.

When Amanda dropped Ron off at his doorstep, she had already anticipated that his family would be curious about where he went and what he did.

So she specifically instructed Ron not to hide anything and to tell the truth directly, because with Ron's lying ability... well, he probably couldn't fool his family who knew him best.

Especially Ron's mother, Molly Weasley.

"Breaking into Gringotts to destroy Voldemort's Horcrux inside." Ron, as instructed by Amanda, directly stated the truth of what they had just done.

"What?!"

Ginny was completely stunned, looking at her brother in disbelief. He, what did he just say? He broke into Gringotts?!

"No need for that reaction," Ron raised a hand to rub his nose. "We went to destroy a Horcrux, not to steal money or do bad things..."

Before Ron could finish, his sister's next words made him realize that his explanation just now was completely unnecessary.

"Why didn't you take me with you?" Ginny regretfully patted her leg. If only she had known, she would have shamelessly followed Senior Lin Yue when she came to pick up Ron earlier.

Anyway, Senior Lin Yue was so kind, she definitely wouldn't have refused her.

"Ginny, we weren't going for fun. We even fought the Aurors at the entrance."

"Who said I wanted to go for fun!" Ginny put her hands on her hips, her demeanor already showing a bit of Molly Weasley's presence.

"My dueling skills might not be worse than yours, my dear brother."

Ron opened his mouth, then silently closed it again. Well, he did know his sister's capabilities.

She was indeed formidable... but that didn't mean she should be involved in such matters. "Ginny, you're still young..."

"I'm only one year below you!" Ginny argued loudly and defiantly for herself.

"In my opinion, you're all still young." Molly Weasley walked out of the kitchen, looking sternly at Ron. She had heard everything the siblings said.

"Next time something like this happens, you can tell us what needs to be done. The Order of the Phoenix has many adult Wizards who can help. We can handle these things."

"You are all still children." At this point, Molly Weasley's expression softened, and she walked over to stroke the heads of her two children.

"At your age, you should still be at home being looked after by your parents. Even Amanda and Hermione shouldn't be so overworked."

"Merlin, the Wizarding World and the Muggle World actually have to be supported by a fifteen-year-old girl. I can't imagine how heavy her current workload must be."

The usually gentle and kind lady's words were full of heartache. She didn't see Hermione governing the entire UK, nor did she see Amanda as a supreme power dominating the world.

She only saw two girls bearing a burden they shouldn't at their age.

"Oh, Mum, they..." Ron thought about how he and Harry had watched Amanda and Hermione work today.

Wizarding World affairs took less than a morning, and Muggle World affairs were more but only took one morning.

With this efficiency, the working hours... should be shorter than most people's, right?

"Actually, they work pretty fast, really," Ron cautiously glanced at his mom. "They finished today's work in just one morning."

"So, the afternoon and evening are all their own time."

Ron had reason to believe that, with this schedule, Amanda and Hermione would definitely spend more time together than working throughout the day.

"That's because they're efficient, not because the workload is small."

Molly Weasley's expression grew even more loving. If Amanda and Hermione were present, she would undoubtedly give them a hug.

"What wonderful children they are, both striving for a better world. Amanda even invested in Fred and George. I must thank her properly next time I see her."

Molly Weasley had originally planned to thank Amanda in person when she heard she was coming that morning, but seeing Amanda leave with Ron, she thought she must have urgent business and didn't disturb her.

What parent wouldn't want their children to achieve their dreams? Molly Weasley's previous disagreement with Fred and George running a joke shop was simply because she thought a Ministry of Magic job was more stable.

But now, with the price reduction promoted by Amanda, even ordinary businesses, even if not performing exceptionally well, could sustain people.

So what did Molly Weasley have to worry about? Let the children do what they wanted.

Just as the three Weasleys were talking, green flames suddenly erupted in the fireplace beside them.
