After testing conducted by Celeste, Andreas drew a general conclusion based on her feedback.
Although the New Well of Eternity also possessed infinite energy, its maximum output was significantly lower than that of its predecessor.
Carefully considered, this was only natural.
The original Well of Eternity was formed by the convergence of Arcane essence overflowing from the wound of the planet Azeroth itself, possessing a direct lineage to the Titans.
The New Well of Eternity, however, was created by catalyzing a ley line node with vials of water from the original well—essentially a diluted, "castrated" version. The disparity in what the two could achieve was naturally vast.
However, while it couldn't compare to the original, the New Well was still considerably stronger than the currently existing Nightwell or the future Sunwell. At the very least, supplying energy for Arcane constructs posed no problem whatsoever.
Alan was summoned from Astranaar, and the craftsman brought along three different models of prototype Arcane constructs.
The most familiar one was the primitive version mass-deployed during the era of the Night Empire—balanced in offense and defense with decent mobility, representing the most all-around configuration.
The other two models had undergone certain personalized modifications based on Andreas's suggestions.
One had been adjusted for heavy-duty combat, its frame noticeably bulkier than the standard version. Its lower body discarded legs in favor of tracks, an adaptation suggested by Andreas.
Drawing on Moonshadow's Rest's experience in manufacturing cannons, the craftsmen had derived a magical cannon that used mana energy instead of gunpowder.
Currently, this heavy Arcane construct, named "Luster of the Moonnight," carried two prototype magical cannons on its shoulders.
The other model went to the opposite extreme, with a frame significantly more slender than the standard version, strictly adhering to a lightweight design.
This model, named "Wings of the Moonnight," was equipped with Arcane energy wings on its back. Theoretically, with a sufficient energy supply, the Wings of the Moonnight could fly and fight in the air for extended periods.
All three models were only prototypes. Although they had undergone operational testing using charges from Arcanists, those were limited tests without an infinite energy source.
The magical cannons couldn't fire many rounds before failing, and the same applied to the energy wings; they would quickly shut down under high energy consumption.
Alan and Celeste huddled together, whispering and discussing for a long while. Andreas was in no hurry and lay down comfortably by the tranquil shores of the Well of Eternity.
Shandris mimicked her boyfriend's movements and lay down beside him. The delicate fragrance emanating from the lakeside lawn made Shandris instinctively take a deep breath.
The excellent air quality allowed her to set aside her worries about official business, lying fully relaxed on the grass while gazing up at the starry night sky.
Leticia, the restless girl, was currently playing with wild Faerie Dragons under the shade of Nordrassil, with Onyxia following behind her like a helpless nanny.
Although Faerie Dragons were named "dragons," their physical structure was completely different from the Dragonflight, resembling winged lizards instead.
Faerie Dragons were one of the many natural allies of the Night Elves. They possessed significant intelligence and could even speak to some extent.
Most Faerie Dragons were very friendly toward Night Elves, their mischievous nature making them willing to play together.
However, these seemingly docile little creatures would reveal a ruthless side when facing enemies, using their innate spells to toy with and then kill their foes.
Andreas, staring blankly at the night sky, suddenly spoke up. "Shandris, do you think... we need to raise a child?"
"Huh?"
Shandris was stunned for a good while before sitting up with a somewhat strange expression. "What made you suddenly think to ask that?"
"Well..."
Andreas scratched his head and said somewhat awkwardly, "As you know, to increase the population of the Night Elves, I have been encouraging the people to have children since I began governing Moonshadow's Rest, even enacting many preferential policies. But as the lord, I haven't exactly set an example..."
"Pfft~"
Shandris amusedly tapped Andreas' forehead with her finger. "I don't mind. Anyway, there doesn't seem to be any major wars requiring me to personally take the field in the near future. However..."
Shandris leaned in playfully and whispered into Andreas' ear with a smirk, "Are you sure you can handle it?"
Being questioned on this point, how could Andreas endure it? He immediately rolled up his sleeves, intending to show Shandris what he was made of.
"How can a man say he can't! When we get back, I'm definitely going to—"
"Cough, cough!"
The sound of coughing from nearby interrupted Andreas' unfinished boast. Celeste, who had suddenly walked out from the side, had a somewhat mischievous smile.
"Definitely going to... what?"
"Cough~ nothing. Not a topic a child should listen to."
Celeste pouted in dissatisfaction. "I'm not a child. I'm over 2,000 years old."
Andreas smiled and rubbed Celeste's smooth blonde hair. "In my eyes, you'll always be that little one with the baby voice."
Before Celeste could offer a disgruntled retort, Andreas immediately changed the subject. "Never mind that. How were the test results?"
"See for yourself."
Celeste pointed gloomily behind her. The three autonomous Arcane constructs had been activated and were moving slowly according to the programs Alan had preset.
Leaving no time to soothe Celeste's mood, Andreas strode toward Arlan.
A subtle smile appeared on Shandris's face as she leaned in and whispered something into Celeste's ear, quickly making the young girl's face turn bright red.
Andreas looked expectantly at the three constructs, each about five meters tall. "How is it? Are they connected to the Well of Eternity?"
Alan adjusted his glasses excitedly, his expression full of fervor. "Yes! With Miss Sunstrider's help, it was a success. I am currently attempting to increase the output."
Just as Alan said, as the output from the Well of Eternity increased, the slowly walking constructs picked up their pace.
The tracks of the Luster of the Moonnight began to spin at high speed, driving the heavy construct to circle the shores of the Well of Eternity rapidly.
The energy wings behind the Wings of the Moonnight also gradually unfurled. The lightweight chassis began to gain altitude, eventually soaring successfully into the sky.
The standard version performed steadily. Andreas felt there was still room for improvement; its joints appeared somewhat stiff, and its movements weren't very fluid.
"Excellent!"
Andreas patted Arlan's shoulder with satisfaction. "Identify the flaws in the prototype constructs as quickly as possible. I hope to see their debut in the battle to capture Zul'Farrak."
Alan nodded solemnly. "Understood. But I need to return to Moonshadow's Rest first to recruit some assistants."
Arcane constructs were previously controlled by the Highborne. Technical personnel with relevant experience could only be recruited from among them, and Astranaar no longer had any Highborne.
"That's fine. I will notify Maclay later to cooperate with you. Regardless of how you complete the testing, I only want results in the shortest time possible. Can you do it?"
"I can!"
