Chapter 30 - ANBU — Worthy of ANBU (Bonus Chapter)

"Ning Feng, ahead is the Hokage's residence. The ANBU headquarters is somewhere nearby. Whether you can find it or not depends on you."

After finally leaving the Uchiha compound, Uchiha Itachi—who had been waiting outside—looked at Ning Feng with a gentle, doting smile. Then, together with Uchiha Shisui, he vanished without a trace.

Watching the two disappear, Ning Feng curled his lips slightly.

How could he not know that although Namikaze Minato had invited him into ANBU, this was by no means a simple or straightforward process?

The very first hurdle before him was clear:

Where exactly was the ANBU headquarters?

Only by successfully finding it could he truly be considered to have passed Minato's test.

With that thought, Ning Feng took out the ANBU registration proof Minato had given him.

On it, there was only a single line of completely unrecognizable writing—clearly a clue pointing toward the ANBU headquarters.

As a Naruto fan, Ning Feng knew full well that even something like the Chūnin Exams was notoriously difficult.

Finding the headquarters of ANBU would naturally be far more challenging.

Memorizing the strange markings on the registration proof, Ning Feng headed straight toward the vast plains behind the Hokage's residence.

A mysterious organization like Konoha's ANBU—especially one that dealt with intelligence gathering and assassinations—could never exist openly on the surface.

That meant only one thing.

It had to be underground.

As he continued forward, Ning Feng soon noticed something unusual—

Throughout the vast plains, there were hidden symbols scattered everywhere.

And these symbols seemed to have a peculiar connection with the markings on Minato's registration proof.

"Sharingan, activate!"

In the dim sky, a pair of crimson two-tomoe Sharingan suddenly bloomed with dazzling light.

With his enhanced perception, Ning Feng was shocked to discover that every place marked with symbols was protected by powerful barriers.

From the outside, it was impossible to tell which one led to the true ANBU headquarters.

"Worthy of ANBU. Even if other villages obtained partial intelligence, destroying this organization would be incredibly difficult."

Ning Feng couldn't help but sigh in admiration.

The original Naruto story never explicitly described this, but just imagining it was enough—

An organization like ANBU, standing strong for so many years, had to be terrifying beyond measure.

Just as Ning Feng was thinking, he suddenly realized something.

The markings on Minato's registration proof seemed to require a series of calculations to determine the true location of the headquarters.

Moreover, the ANBU headquarters likely changed locations periodically.

With that realization, Ning Feng began calculating rapidly.

Far away, inside the Hokage's residence.

The Fourth Hokage, Namikaze Minato, stood quietly, gazing into the distance at Ning Feng as he searched for the ANBU headquarters. A strong look of anticipation flashed in his eyes.

Behind Minato stood Uchiha Itachi, wearing the same expectant expression.

"Itachi, do you think Peak will be able to find the ANBU headquarters this time?" Minato asked.

"Even I, as Hokage, need to run calculations based on the intelligence I possess to pinpoint its location."

"He can," Itachi replied confidently.

After joining ANBU himself, Itachi had come to understand just how terrifying this organization truly was—its grasp over the world's secrets was immense.

And because of that, its counterintelligence measures were equally terrifying.

"Hm? He found it already!?"

Minato was about to say something when his eyes suddenly widened in shock.

In his line of sight, Ning Feng seemed to have deciphered the markings through a series of calculations, finally arriving at a conclusion.

"I didn't expect the Naruto world to be using something like Morse-code-style encryption so early…"

Ning Feng smirked slightly.

If not for his knowledge in this area, he probably wouldn't have been able to locate ANBU at all.

With that, he stopped in front of an ordinary-looking stone engraved with a strange symbol.

Moments later, the stone began to glow brilliantly, enveloping Ning Feng completely, as if it were identifying him.

After all, the barriers surrounding Konoha had powerful recognition systems—only true Konoha ninja could pass through unhindered.

The next instant—

Boom!

With a deep rumble, the stone revealed a hidden entrance.

A doorway appeared from within.

It was unmistakably the entrance to the ANBU headquarters.

"Found it."

Ning Feng glanced around. The entrance was absurdly well hidden—almost impossible to locate without the correct method.

In the original Naruto story, even Orochimaru's Sound Village bases were notoriously difficult to find, filled with countless mechanisms.

They were likely inspired by places like the ANBU headquarters.

Just as Ning Feng felt a surge of excitement, a series of clear system notifications rang out:

"Congratulations! You have discovered the entrance to the ANBU headquarters!"

"Personal exclusive quest [ANBU Ninja] has been activated!"

"Personal main quest [Ninjutsu Training] has been successfully completed!"

"You have received 1,000,000 EXP!"

"You have received +2000 Chakra Maximum!"

"You have received Kunai ×100!"

"You have received Explosive Tags ×20!"

"All of your ninjutsu have increased by 1 level!"

"You leveled up! You are now Level 17!"

"You leveled up! You are now Level 19!"

A flood of notifications echoed one after another.

In that instant, Ning Feng felt an overwhelming surge of power flow through his body, filling his limbs and bones with indescribable exhilaration.

Especially after the +2000 chakra boost, he could clearly feel the chakra contained within his cells multiplying dramatically.

The sensation was nothing short of marvelous.

Just as Ning Feng was absorbing it all, an ANBU ninja wearing a mask slowly approached.

"You're Peak—the one recommended by Lord Minato to join Konoha's ANBU, correct?"

"Follow me. There are a few rules I need to explain to you."

"First: In ANBU operations, all members use code names only. Real names are forbidden, even within ANBU."

"Second: No ANBU member may disclose any information related to missions. Betrayal will be punished by death without mercy."

"Third: In the event of a teammate's death, the mission takes priority."

As he spoke, the ANBU ninja took Ning Feng's registration proof and handed him an ANBU mask.

Ning Feng accepted it.

[ANBU Mask]

A mask that only ANBU members are qualified to wear.

Effect: All attributes +10%

Under the guidance of the masked ANBU ninja, Ning Feng soon laid eyes upon—

A massive underground intelligence organization, bustling with activity everywhere.

Truly—

Worthy of ANBU.
