"...!"
Blanid suddenly snapped her head toward Oliver Berdon with a blank expression, tightening her grip on the cold handle of her bluish-white weapon.
"Oh, fuck!"
The next moment, Blanid had already launched herself straight at the deofolized human whose expression changed in an instant, as now he was the one to flee in panic while calling out in distress, realizing his deceit was seen through!
With the roles reversed, Oliver Berdon couldn't call out or laugh any longer!
Blanid started using her ephemeral blades not in an attempt to deal damage but to slow down and obstruct its movement, all to get close enough to cut it! Even the spore sack in its hand was burst open by one of the ephemeral blades on purpose, while a shockwave from the sword forced the deofolized human to change the direction completely so that Blanid could continue the pursuit, worrying about the gedwyld-filled cloud that got unleashed!
*thump*
"?!?!"
Before it knew it, former Oliver Berdon was backed against the main building's wall.
Sturdy stones behind him.
Six of Blanid's ephemeral blades on its right, the other six on its left.
The sky above, and the earth beneath…
And Blanid herself in front of him.
"Why don't you parry THIS! HAAA!"
"!!!"
The disguised girl roared with vindictive triumph in her voice, her blood rushing to her head from seeing the actual fear on the face of her opponent, and almost instinctively, at that point, she went for a jump to deliver an overhead downwards slash to finish it all in style, like the hero she was impersonating!
*rumble*
"...?!"
Whether it was the tunnel vision or inexperience, after being the one to jump, Blanid failed to notice the movement from above as something jumped off from the destroyed third floor!
As such, she was taken by complete surprise when another gedwyld-corrupted student joined the fight, slashing at her sword-wielding hands with a scabbard…!
*CRACK*
"...!"
The scabbard oozing with gray energy intercepted the downwards slash, and Blanid's wrist and fingers snapped while she could only suck in some air as her eyes bulged out.
"!!!"
While the pain began to overwhelm her brain, it also made her pay attention to the one causing it, thanks to which Blanid managed to realize that the gedwyld-corrupted student wasn't satisfied with the one hit and was going for seconds, this time aiming at her waist as it continued to fall!
*WHAM*
Unable to get out of the way, mid-air herself, she did the only thing that came to her mind. Seeing that the new opponent was using a scabbard instead of a sword for whatever reason, the disguised girl twisted her body, curling up and using her shin to counter, or at least block the impact!
*crack*
"KU-GHAAAAAAGH…!"
The strike was still too powerful for her body to handle, and her shin cracked while she was launched to the side! Unable to hold onto Caladbolg's shadow with her broken fingers, she dropped it along the way, and, after tumbling on the hard pavement a few times, she finally regained enough of her voice to scream in pain while curling up into a fetal position and trembling violently.
"The hel, Simon!? That's how you repay me for sharing this power with you!? Why didn't you cut off that fuckers hands and finish him off!? Why the scabbard of all things!?"
As Blanid's ephemeral blades dispersed as a proof of her incapacitation, Oliver Berdon breathed out in relief, not even giving its savior time to properly get off the ground after crash-landing, and scoffing at it.
"Just because some bitch stabbed you, you went crazy and blew up half the dormitory! That wasn't a part of the plan! My sword went flying who-knows-where because of the blast, you overconfident fool! Be glad that I still had the scabbard on me or you'd be dead already!"
Simon snapped right back, reaching out and pushing the deofolized human's shoulder… or at least trying to as his hand was slapped back instantly.
"Ungrateful fuck! She stabbed me because you ruined everything by ambushing the teachers! You might have lucked out and adapted the best to the power I shared with you all, but that doesn't mean you're anywhere near my level! After deofolizing, I'm as strong as a true deofol while you're still merely comparable to a lesser one! Better watch that tongue of yours, or I'll rip it out!"
"...tsk..."
Former Oliver Berdon cursed out its savior who limited itself to only clicking its tongue in annoyance.
After all, former Oliver Berdon was correct about the disparity of strength between them.
Only because former Oliver was the one with the pact with the former Arch Deofol and former Simon in a way became its progeny, they were in completely different realms of power.
Still, former Simon knew its revised limits… giving up its humanity in exchange for breaking through was worth it.
Oh, how easy it was to cut down both advanced swordsmanship teachers and the untainted pupils!
As for the commoner student… well, he was quite the monster himself, although in a different manner than Simon.
"Go bring in more people for gedwyld corruption."
"Huh?"
Simon's thoughts were unexpectedly interrupted by Oliver's command.
"Don't you huh me! There should be some survivors up there, right? It's just you and me left! We have to replenish our ranks before that trash returns! Don't tell me you killed them all off too before jumping down!"
"..."
The deofolized human scoffed at the gedwyld-corrupted human, but the latter was too distracted.
"...?"
Furrowing its brows, Oliver Berdon followed Simon's line of sight and…
"Oh, don't even DREAM about taking it!"
Once it spotted that the point of interest was the bluish-white sword that the commoner student dropped, former Oliver Berdon snorted and grinned threateningly, staring daggers at its underling.
"I lost my sword because of you, though."
"Then I will give you another of equivalent value later! Don't you dare covet that weapon unless you want me to put you down like a disobedient dog that you certainly present yourself as right now!"
Former Simon swallowed its saliva and pointed out, but Oliver Berdon's voice turned sharp and cold like an ice blade.
