A large crowd had gathered around the luxurious manor belonging to Lord Mier, a mild yet extravagant residence that stood several stories above the surrounding buildings and was normally regarded as one of the more prestigious properties in the western province.
On any ordinary day, the sight of so many soldiers surrounding a nobleman's home would have been enough to cause panic, but the presence of hundreds of fully armed soldiers had made it obvious that something far more serious was happening.
Whispers travelled through the crowd as people stared toward the manor, careful to keep their distance from the heavily guarded perimeter. Soldiers stood shoulder to shoulder around the property, their weapons drawn and their armor reinforced with demonic arrays, while dozens of powerful demons occupied several enormous crimson arrays that had been carved into the ground around the estate.
