Damian opened his eyes and found himself standing in the desolate lands of the Abyss.
The familiar expanse stretched endlessly before him, its barren ground devoid of life. The Abyssal Tree stood firmly at the centre of the wasteland, its enormous black trunk extending into a colourless sky. Behind it stood the wall of dead trees, their twisted branches reaching upwards like the skeletal fingers of countless dead things.
And above them all, the Abyss's crimson eye stared intently at him.
"Absorbing the remnants of Majin's power has saved you decades of cultivation," the Abyss said. Its voice reverberated through the desolate lands, neither loud nor quiet. "That, coupled with your access to God veins and a God-realm wife, means you are much closer to the God realm than you are aware of."
Damian's eyebrows rose.
