Chapter 2 - just live

They continued to dance this way, exchanging intense glances, provocative smiles, and precise movements that made everyone around them dizzy. Every gesture was a silent power play: who would give in first, who would show weakness?

At the end of the song, Kairo looked at her with that dark intensity that made her heart race.

— We could continue this dance somewhere else?

— Maybe, she replied, letting the mystery linger.

Their conversation stretched into the dark corridors of the club, between bursts of laughter, provocations, and silent compliments. Zayla played with him, testing his patience, his limits, watching how he reacted to every touch of seduction. Kairo was not naive: he saw her game and participated in his own way, each of them controlling and being controlled at the same time.

The night continued like this, a constant tension, subtle exchanges, electric glances, words with double meanings. Their gestures, their words, everything was calculated yet passionate. They eventually found themselves alone, in a secluded room, silence wrapping the space like a blanket. Their bodies finally drew close without restraint, releasing all the electricity built up over the evening.

At dawn, as the light pierced through the curtains, Kairo stood, adjusted his jacket, and fixed Zayla with that dark, dangerous gaze.

— You've got… potential, he said with a sly smile.

— You haven't seen anything yet. I want to see you again… but not today, he murmured.

Zayla smiled, a mixture of satisfaction and curiosity. She knew he was a man capable of keeping up with her and challenging her. And she… she loved that kind of challenge.

A few hours later, she mounted her motorcycle again, her hair messy from the night, and headed to her university. She was in her third year, studying publishing, and despite her hectic nightlife, her academic ambitions were serious. She quickly took a shower at home before heading out.

Arriving at the university, Zayla parked her bike and adjusted her bag over her shoulder. She hurried to the classroom, aware that she was late. Fortunately, her best friend, Asher Lorne, had always saved her a seat. He gave her a small, discreet nod as she entered, his calm and reassuring smile contrasting with the chaos she still felt from the night.

— Always late, Zayla? he murmured, half-amused, half-exasperated.

— And you always waiting for me to show up? she replied with a smirk, feeling her heart calm slightly at seeing him.

Asher had known her for a long time, enough to understand that she loved playing with the world, seducing, manipulating… but never with him. With him, she could simply be Zayla. She gave him a quick glance, full of silent complicity, and sat down.

Next to her, Talia Veyra gave her a mischievous smile:

— So… you seemed to have fun last night, huh?

Zayla shrugged, playing the mysterious card:

— The night is still young, Talia.

Nyx Callen, ever sarcastic, added:

— Hmm… you sound like you met someone interesting.

Zayla let out a soft laugh, her eyes shining behind her colored strands:

— Maybe… or maybe not. Let's just say the night was… stimulating.

Orion Kade, observant as always, frowned slightly:

— You seem intrigued. And it amuses you not to say anything.

She smiled, resting her elbows on the table and crossing her legs, letting her calculating side show:

— There are things you don't tell everyone, Orion. Some encounters are… reserved for memories.

Asher shook his head, amused, but his gaze betrayed a hint of concern for her.

— You always play this game, huh? he murmured softly.

— Always, she replied with a smirk. But you… you know I don't completely lie. You know who I really am.

The professor finally entered, interrupting their exchanges, and class began. Zayla took her seat, but her mind still wandered. Every movement, every conversation from the previous night with Kairo came back in fragments: his dark gaze, provocative words, the dance… everything. She knew it was only the beginning, and that one day, their paths would cross again. She was eager to see how this game would unfold.

While listening to the lecture, she discreetly watched her friends, appreciating the comfort their presence gave her. Talia scribbled notes while glancing curiously at her. Nyx tapped her fingers on the table, slightly mocking. Orion, always attentive, noted everything with almost comical seriousness. And Asher… Asher was there, attentive, patient, his silent presence more reassuring than any words.

For Zayla, this was true luxury: friends who understood who she was, who saw her strengths and weaknesses, and stayed by her side. But what she had felt with Kairo was different. He was… a challenge. A real one. And challenges, Zayla loved to take on.
