This story takes place in a far away galaxy name hovaar, the crew of a small explorer grade spaceship, all of the crew came from different backgrounds surviving together, they became part of an event which changed their lives forever.
The incident happen when they were coming back from completing a delivery for a small businessman in different system, in sector E of the galaxy,
The hull of Vanguard groaned as if metal teeth grinding together as the ship was spat out of ion storm
Red lights were flaring all over the ship, but Ryn's hands remain steady, sweat on her forehead but heartbeat remain slow
"Stabilizers" she commanded, cut the main thrusters let us drift
Roar of engines died,alarms shut off replaced by deathly silence of the void
"By the machine" as Vesk the 4 ft machinist, pulled himself onto his console chair, looked annoyed "that was atmospheric tantrum than just ion storm"
"We are alive" Jax 7 foot droskh, unbuckled his restraints and looked towards Ryn as both family member and deference"we wouldn't be alive if not captain's piloting skill, and would have become another pile of space debris"
"That is true" Vesk conceded, tapping his fingers on the dark screen" though my work on the ship deserve a credit"
Elios coming out of medical bay. The exiled geneticist looked worse came out rubbing his shoulder, apparently hurt by sudden ship movements looked towards void" captain where are we now? , went towards navigation table which was dark" no beacon, no star charts we have drifted away from the route, we are flying blind now
Ryn turned her chair towards them " I have shut down non emergency systems, do full diagnostic Vesk.
"Ok boss" Vesk grumbled. Hopped down from his chair remove the floor panel and disappeared into the message of wires
For a long moment, there was only clinking sound of Vesk's tools were heard they were a motley crew came together by chance surviving doing odd jobs, this mission was supposed to be easy money now they are stranded here out in the darkness
"Physical systems are okay, computer systems shut itself down, an hour or 2 they will restart" Vesk's voice came from below the floor
" We drift until then" Ryn said while looking outside.
Ship was silently drifting. Slowly, massive asteroid shadow can be outside the cockpit, colossal rock size of a massive city, drifting in the dark
"Captain you should see this" Jax said his eyes narrowing. Ryn and others came by his side looking towards direction pointed by Jax
Swirling in the distance distorting the light of stars behind it, they have only heard about it but have never seen it with their own eyes, kaleidoscope of bending light and crushed gravity, a funnel leading somewhere
"Is that" Jax trailed off.
"Wormhole," terror and fascination warring in his voice
"That storm didn't just push us off course" Ryn said softly " It pushed us right to the door step of something else"
The ship groaned again, the gravity well if wormhole has caught them they were getting pulled towards the black hole
