Chapter 7 - Chapter 7: Educational pot

At this moment, George was like an older brother—placing pressure on the three of them while also offering steady support. He didn't talk much, yet his influence was everywhere.

Whenever a "senior" like him was present, the small conflicts and temperamental clashes among the three would naturally soften. Harry was less quick to lose his temper, and Hermione became more mindful of her tone.

George hadn't expected to have such a strong impact, but he was glad to see the change and actively encouraged this positive dynamic.

"If you still have questions, go ask Hermione. She's basically a senior student," George added casually.Just as disadvantages can snowball and grow larger over time, early advantages can do the same. Many people who graduated in his previous life proved this—those earning high salaries weren't all geniuses. Rather, the snowball effect of early advantages and disadvantages eventually pushed ordinary people onto entirely different paths.

A snowball built from early advantages rolls smoothly forward, while one formed from early disadvantages struggles every step of the way.

Now, Harry and Ron were starting to build much larger snowballs of their own. George hoped these snowballs would keep growing—until one day, Voldemort himself could be crushed beneath them.

"Hermione does really well in school, but you're the best student. You're first in every subject," Harry and Ron said in unison after exchanging a glance.George's homework load left Hermione almost breathless. No matter how hard she worked, she still couldn't outperform him. Seeing this, Harry and Ron couldn't help but feel sympathy for Hermione, who worked even harder than George.

"I just started learning the basics a few years earlier. Hermione is the real genius," George replied modestly.

"But why are Malfoy's grades so bad? His family's rich—he must've had private tutors since childhood," Harry asked, puzzled. In truth, Malfoy's grades weren't bad at all; they were average.

However, compared to George and Hermione—and even Harry and Ron, who had surpassed Malfoy under Hermione's careful guidance—Malfoy now seemed unimpressive. To children their age, nothing felt better than outperforming someone they disliked.

"Yeah, every time I see Malfoy lagging far behind us, I feel amazing," Ron said excitedly. Seeing Malfoy's grades pushed back had greatly boosted Ron's motivation.

"I've said this before—the magical world's basic education system isn't very good," George said thoughtfully. "The population is too small. Without enough opportunities or competition, large-scale progress is hard to achieve."

Seeing Harry and Ron listening as if they were hearing scripture, George simplified his explanation.

"In short, there aren't many wizards, and there are even fewer teachers. Good teachers are extremely rare. You don't really have anyone who can make learning easier."

"Oh!"Harry and Ron suddenly nodded in understanding.

"So don't think being a wizard makes you superior. Hermione is a great teacher. If you can keep up with her, you'll become great wizards yourselves someday," George encouraged them.

At that goal, Harry and Ron couldn't help but hold their breath. Magic—visible and controllable—made learning far more engaging than studying the Muggle world.

The professors' magical lessons were eye-opening. With solid grades and a strong start, Harry and Ron now had clearer goals than ever before. They both hoped to become powerful wizards in the future.

"It's a shame you didn't get sorted into Gryffindor, George," Harry said regretfully, feeling much better after George's encouragement.

"Yeah, if George were in Gryffindor, we wouldn't have to worry about Snape causing trouble," Ron agreed with a smile. George's grades were always near the top, and in recent weeks, he had earned plenty of points studying hard in Ravenclaw.

"Haha," George laughed. "Honestly, I feel pretty awkward lately. Every time Professor McGonagall deducts points while looking at me, I feel so uncomfortable I just want to leave the classroom."

Harry recalled McGonagall's expression in class, then looked George up and down before bursting into laughter."You're way too tall. You don't look like an eleven-year-old at all."

As he thought about it, Harry's expression turned strange. Ever since eating the nutrition meals George gave him on the train, his once-skinny body had gradually become stronger. His robes no longer hung loosely as if they might flap in the wind.

Becoming stronger made Harry happy—but imagining himself soon turning into a muscular giant like George, standing among a crowd of tiny eleven-year-olds, sent a shiver down his spine.

Ron looked at George's tall figure with envy. With five older brothers, he had long suffered their teasing.

He eagerly imagined the day George, with his massive build, could grab Malfoy with one arm and Fred with the other, doing whatever he pleased. Just thinking about it made Ron grin foolishly.

Seeing Harry's strange expression, George understood his thoughts but didn't say anything. Compared to the gradual changes on the train, Harry's current physical condition hadn't improved much.

After all, Harry's nutrition intake was limited. Without continued supplements, the result would only be being slightly stronger than his peers. To grow rapidly like George, consistent training and increased nutrition were essential.

"Haha, I've been spending all my free time in the library lately," George said helplessly. Thanks to the carefully prepared potions and nutritional supplements he had created, his rapid physical growth was something he had always been proud of.

But now, having grown into such a robust figure, he was still stuck among a group of eleven-year-olds, attending first-year foundation classes and using magic he had mastered years ago.

A few weeks later, George started getting headaches.

Laying a solid foundation was always important—but for him, first-year courses no longer offered much value.

Every time Professor McGonagall looked at him while awarding points, George could sense the awkwardness on her face. Standing there like a grown man among children made even him feel uncomfortable.

"Ravenclaw's library really is better than the others," Harry said, finally understanding why George spent so much time there.
