Chapter 7 - DREAM LOVER

An Ting didn't think PS's words were too harsh. After just two encounters with Ye Qianqian, she had a clear picture of what kind of person she was.

She had only been in this world for a day, and already both men she met had fallen under Ye Qianqian's "admiration buff." The moment they saw her, they would do anything as if they had lost their minds—even going against their own principles.

It wasn't hard to imagine that living on the same campus as Ye Qianqian meant An Ting would soon meet many more victims of this scam. And now, with Ye Qianqian holding a grudge, as PS had said, An Ting's life was about to get a lot more complicated.

An Ting's face turned pale, while PS smugly snorted. "Serves you right for not taking it seriously."

"So, what do you suggest we do now?"

Photoshop froze, staring at her. Seeing most of its features still grayed out, it angrily spat, "Who told you to be so poor! If you had ten million, I would have unlocked most of the features by now and made this piece of trash kneel and call me daddy!"

"Why not just give me a rich kid identity?" An Ting muttered. "Then I could unlock everything and crush that trash the moment I appear."

Meanwhile, in the real world, Sun Yiling was still waiting for An Ting's reply. To outsiders, her silence seemed like helplessness.

Zhou Lili proudly raised her chin. "The station director knows I'm best suited for this. Some jobs aren't for everyone."

Li Qin, watching from the side, finally lost her patience. "Director, you had already decided this! But now, because of a girl who's only been here a few weeks, you want to change your mind?"

Sun Yiling hesitated, feeling slightly guilty, but when he looked at Ye Qianqian, he felt he should do it. The person he liked shouldn't be wronged. He gave a small, apologetic glance to An Ting but didn't change his decision.

"Then the dubbing task will go entirely to Zhou Lili," he said firmly. "As for An Ting, I'll find you another task."

Zhou Lili smirked. "Does she even have time for TV station work? She's juggling part-time jobs. Assigning her tasks will just slow her down. She barely comes here anyway."

Li Qin gritted her teeth. "Zhou Lili, don't go too far!"

Zhou Lili's dismissive smile never wavered. "Me, going too far? I'm doing her a favor. More time for part-time jobs means more money, not wasted time at the station. Right, Qianqian?"

Ye Qianqian smiled faintly. "If we're talking part-time jobs, the TV station work is a waste. Better not to overwork her."

They chatted back and forth, casually deciding An Ting's fate, with Sun Yiling's gaze locked only on Ye Qianqian.

An Ting's mood darkened. This wasn't just losing a small job—she had done countless more important recordings before. Having it forcibly taken away was frustrating.

She patted Li Qin's shoulder. "Calm down. I trust the station director. He wouldn't take my mission away without a reason."

Li Qin huffed. "Didn't you see his eyes? He wanted to give everything to Ye Qianqian, agreeing with Zhou Lili. I used to believe in his judgment, but now…"

An Ting ignored her inner irritation and turned back to the task at hand. Just like PS said, that trashy Adoration buff wouldn't get the best of her.

PS, ever the stickler, corrected itself: "I did not use such an uncivilized term as 'poop and pee,' thank you very much."

An Ting ignored the lecture and opened Photoshop.

"We only have basic functions. What's the plan?"

She examined the filter hovering over Sun Yiling's eyes, noting its effect: brightened exposure, reduced shadows, increased skin brightness. Ye Qianqian looked radiant, ethereal—the kind of girl a man like Sun Yiling would fall for blindly.

An Ting considered her tools. No filter-changing options, but years of photography and editing experience gave her plenty of workarounds.

First, she sampled a dull brown from the floor using the color-picker and splashed it over the filter with the paint bucket tool. Ye Qianqian's skin darkened several shades.

PS cheered. "Well done!"

An Ting frowned. "Why isn't it darker?"

"You're just bound to this PS. Effects are limited at first," PS explained.

"Trash!" An Ting muttered. But even a small effect was enough. In Sun Yiling's eyes, Ye Qianqian now looked noticeably darker.

Not satisfied, An Ting got another idea. "Hey buddy, can you connect to the internet?"

"No, but I can use your phone," PS replied.

Satisfied, An Ting pulled up Baidu, found a dog-head emoji from Weibo, and imported it into Photoshop.

"Why are you doing this?" PS asked, confused.

"I want Sun Yiling to see what it's like when your dream girl turns out to be a dog," she said with a sly grin.

She pasted the dog head over Ye Qianqian's face. At first glance, it seemed subtle—but the more Sun Yiling looked, the more she resembled a dog.

To make matters worse, the Mori Girl dress Ye Qianqian was wearing turned dark brown with the paint splash. Elegant on fair-skinned girls, it now made her look like she had just trudged back from the countryside, covered in mud.

Sun Yiling was stunned. A moment ago, this was the girl of his dreams; now she looked dark, plain, and strangely canine. The hardworking spirit he admired seemed to fade along with her glow.

The more he stared, the more uncanny the resemblance to the dog-head emoji became.

It was a weird feeling—one even he, who had never cared about appearances, couldn't ignore.
