Chapter 43 - :The Dare That Crossed the Line

The wind above the floating gardens slowly calmed again.

But the strange shadow in the distant sky had left behind a quiet tension in the air.

Aerion glanced upward once more.

The stars had returned to normal.

Yet something about the night felt different now.

"…Please tell me that thing isn't coming back," he muttered.

Lyria stretched lazily beside him.

"Relax."

Seraphyna's gaze still lingered on the sky for a moment before she looked back at the group.

"For now, the disturbance is gone."

Aelira nodded slowly.

"But we should remain alert."

Nythera, however, looked far too amused to be worried.

She leaned casually against a glowing stone pillar near the pool.

"Well…"

Her violet eyes sparkled mischievously.

"…are we going to let a tiny cosmic disturbance interrupt such an entertaining game?"

Aerion groaned quietly.

"…I was hoping it would."

Lyria laughed.

"Nice try."

Seraphyna folded her hands calmly.

"The rules remain unfinished."

Nythera smiled wider.

"Exactly."

She looked directly at Aerion.

"You chose Dare."

Aerion sighed deeply.

"…Right."

Her eyes gleamed.

"And I have finally decided."

Lyria leaned forward eagerly.

"Oh this will be good."

Seraphyna watched with quiet curiosity.

Even Aelira seemed interested now.

Nythera slowly stepped closer to Aerion.

The faint glow of violet energy surrounded her as she approached.

"Aerion."

"…Yes?"

"I dare you…"

She paused deliberately, letting the suspense build.

"…to choose one goddess here…"

Lyria's eyes widened slightly.

Seraphyna tilted her head.

Aelira remained still.

Nythera finished her sentence.

"…and kiss her."

Aerion blinked.

"…That's it?"

Lyria immediately protested.

"Hey! That's not dangerous!"

Nythera raised a finger.

"I'm not finished."

Everyone looked at her.

Her smile became more dangerous.

"The kiss must last…"

She glanced at Aerion with amusement.

"…ten seconds."

The entire platform went silent.

Aerion's brain stopped.

"…Ten?"

Lyria burst out laughing.

"Oh this is perfect."

Seraphyna looked thoughtful.

"A prolonged human kiss."

Aelira crossed her arms calmly.

"That is indeed… bold."

Aerion buried his face in his hands.

"…Why me."

Nythera answered cheerfully.

"Because it is your dare."

Lyria leaned close to him again.

"Well?"

Aerion peeked through his fingers.

Four powerful goddesses stared back at him.

Waiting.

Expecting.

"…This game is evil."

Nythera smirked.

"Choose."

Aerion looked at each of them.

Lyria's eyes sparkled with excitement.

Seraphyna watched him with calm curiosity.

Aelira remained composed but her silver gaze was steady.

Nythera looked amused.

"…You're enjoying this way too much," Aerion muttered.

He took a deep breath.

"…Fine."

He slowly stood up.

Lyria immediately leaned forward.

"Oh please pick me."

Seraphyna remained quiet.

Aelira's expression was unreadable.

Aerion looked around the circle.

Then—

He walked toward Aelira.

Lyria groaned dramatically.

"Oh come on!"

Nythera smiled knowingly.

Seraphyna watched carefully.

Aelira looked slightly surprised.

"…You chose me."

Aerion rubbed his neck awkwardly.

"…Yeah."

Lyria crossed her arms.

"I feel betrayed."

Nythera clapped softly.

"Begin."

Aerion took a slow breath.

Then he gently placed his hands on Aelira's waist.

The Sovereign's eyes widened slightly at the contact.

Their faces moved closer.

The stars above shimmered quietly.

Then their lips met.

The kiss was deeper than before.

Warmer.

Longer.

The world seemed to fade around them.

Aerion could feel Aelira's fingers lightly gripping his shoulders as the moment stretched.

One second.

Two.

Three.

Lyria counted loudly.

"Four… five…"

Seraphyna watched silently, her expression calm but thoughtful.

Nythera looked fascinated.

"…Seven… eight…"

Aerion felt his heart racing.

"…Nine…"

Aelira slowly deepened the kiss slightly.

"…Ten!"

Lyria shouted.

The moment ended.

Aerion stepped back slowly.

His face was completely red.

Aelira looked surprisingly calm, though a faint pink color touched her cheeks.

Lyria sighed dramatically.

"Well."

She looked annoyed.

"That was intense."

Seraphyna spoke softly.

"The emotional resonance was strong."

Nythera chuckled.

"Yes."

She looked at Aerion.

"You survived."

"…Barely."

Lyria suddenly stood up.

"My turn."

She pointed at Seraphyna.

"Truth or Dare."

Seraphyna answered calmly.

"…Dare."

Lyria's grin returned instantly.

"Oh this will be fun."

She leaned forward slightly.

"Seraphyna…"

Her eyes sparkled mischievously.

"I dare you to sit on Aerion's lap for one full minute."

Aerion choked.

"…WHAT."

Nythera burst out laughing.

"Oh that is excellent."

Aelira raised an eyebrow.

Seraphyna looked thoughtful.

"…Very well."

Before Aerion could protest—

Seraphyna calmly walked over.

Then sat on his lap.

The entire universe stopped.

Aerion froze like a statue.

"…I cannot breathe."

Seraphyna looked down at him calmly.

"You appear nervous."

"Extremely."

Lyria was laughing so hard she almost fell over.

Nythera leaned closer.

"This game is better than I expected."

The minute passed slowly.

Painfully slowly.

When Seraphyna finally stood up again, Aerion looked like he had just survived a war.

"…I need water."

Lyria wiped tears from her eyes.

"Your turn again!"

Aerion groaned.

"…Fine."

He looked around the circle.

Then pointed at Nythera.

"You."

Her violet eyes lit up.

"Oh?"

"Truth or Dare."

She smiled slowly.

"…Dare."

Aerion thought for a moment.

Then smirked.

"Alright."

Everyone leaned closer.

"Nythera…"

He crossed his arms.

"I dare you to reveal one secret about yourself."

Nythera laughed softly.

"That is not dangerous."

"Oh it is."

The mysterious goddess considered the dare for a moment.

Then her smile faded slightly.

"…Very well."

Her glowing eyes lifted toward the sky.

"Here is a secret."

The wind shifted again.

The stars flickered faintly.

Nythera whispered quietly.

"…Something is watching us tonight."

Everyone went silent.

Aerion looked up slowly.

"…You mean that shadow?"

Nythera nodded slightly.

"Yes."

Lyria frowned.

"…Great."

Seraphyna's voice became serious.

"It has not left."

Aelira's silver eyes narrowed.

The night sky above the floating islands grew darker.

And far above them—

The shadow moved again.

Closer.

Still silent.

Still hidden.

Nythera slowly turned back toward the group.

Her violet eyes glowing faintly.

"…And the game…"

She smiled mysteriously.

"…is about to become much more dangerous."

The wind howled softly across the celestial garden.

And somewhere in the darkness above—

Something powerful was watching every move they made.

The game of Truth or Dare had just crossed the line.
