Chapter 55: The Pressure of the Uchiha Clan

"So you're Yuu."

Inside Minato's home, a bright, hearty laugh rang out.

Kushina looked Yuu over with open curiosity. "You really are the same type as Minato."

Clearly, Minato had already told her about Yuu.

Kushina already knew the basics. Minato had once said that Yuu was a shinobi very similar to him. Before meeting him, she had not fully believed it.

Now, she had to.

The boy stood there with a gentle smile, and his whole presence felt warm and approachable, the kind that naturally invited goodwill. With his long hair falling straight down, he carried a calm, tranquil air that made Kushina pay attention without even trying.

Without needing to say much, that aura alone resembled Minato's.

If there was any obvious difference, it was mostly appearance.

Minato had blond hair, while Yuu's hair was black, which looked far more ordinary at first glance.

"What a good looking kid."

Kushina stepped closer, studying him from head to toe, and in the end, she could not resist reaching out and patting him.

"It'd be great if our future child could be as good looking as Yuu." She turned and spoke to Minato beside her.

"Kushina and Minato sensei are both good looking," Yuu replied softly. "Your future child's appearance definitely won't be bad either."

"Haha, is that so?" Kushina laughed even louder. "Minato, did you hear that? This kid praised me for being good looking!"

"What a truly good child." She rubbed Yuu's head again.

Yuu only smiled at the affection and did not dodge.

This was his first time visiting Minato's home.

By status, he was Minato's student now. No matter how one looked at it, he should pay a proper visit.

It was also his first time meeting Kushina.

And judging from the circumstances, this was not something an ordinary person could casually do.

As the Nine Tails jinchuriki, Kushina was arguably one of the most important people in Konoha right now. She was Konoha's strongest trump card. Most people did not even have the qualifications to approach her.

If Yuu were not Minato's student, he probably would not have been able to meet her this closely.

"Dinner's almost ready."

A moment later, Minato's voice drifted out from the kitchen.

"I'll help too." Yuu took the initiative and went in, lending a hand and showing off his cooking skills along the way.

His cooking was genuinely good, a skill he had honed back in the Land of Ancestors.

It could not be helped. The food during that period never suited his palate, and later, Kaguya was just as picky as he was.

So he had cooked for himself again and again, slowly refining his technique.

"You can actually cook?" After watching for a bit, Kushina was stunned.

Most shinobi were not great in the kitchen.

Coincidentally, Kushina was also the type who could not cook at all.

Most dishes she made fell squarely into the category of dark cuisine.

Worse, she would make dark cuisine and force other people to finish it.

That had made visiting guests suffer more than once.

Over time, Kushina had gained a very clear understanding of her own cooking level.

Now, tasting Yuu's work, she was immediately shocked.

"Can you teach me?" She looked at Yuu with complete sincerity, her eyes shining with hope.

"This… shouldn't be a problem." Under her expectant gaze, Yuu glanced at Minato beside him, then eventually nodded.

At that moment, he did not think much of it.

To him, it was just a small request.

But very quickly, he realized he had been far too naive.

As the Nine Tails jinchuriki, Kushina was exceptionally talented in many areas, far beyond ordinary shinobi.

But asking her to do something as delicate as cooking was simply too much.

"Ah, it's on fire!"

A scream burst from the kitchen.

Yuu stood by the doorway, watching the flustered Kushina in front of him, feeling utterly helpless.

A sigh followed.

It was not Yuu.

It was Minato.

He looked at the chaotic scene Kushina had created and could only sigh again.

"Kushina is just like that." He lowered his voice. "Sorry you had to see something embarrassing, Yuu."

"No. I think this is pretty good too." Yuu shook his head with a smile. "Everyone has things they're good at and things they aren't. That's normal."

"That's true." Minato nodded, though the helplessness in him did not fade.

It was true everyone had strengths and weaknesses.

Unfortunately, some people insisted on charging straight into what they were worst at.

And more importantly, Minato was the one who had to deal with the aftermath.

Every time Kushina produced a batch of dark cuisine, he was always the one responsible for finishing it all.

Just eating it was already an ordeal. On top of that, he had to force himself to praise it, or he would face Kushina's invincible iron fist.

Kakashi and the others had visited his home in the past, but in the end, they stopped daring to come. There was a reason for that.

Minato thought of Kakashi, and another sigh slipped out.

"Has Kakashi's issue still not been resolved?" Kushina suddenly asked from beside him. "The Uchiha side…"

"Yeah. They're still making noise." Minato nodded. "They want Kakashi to hand over that Sharingan."

"Is there really no room to negotiate?" Kushina frowned immediately.

From the beginning, none of them had ever considered forcing Kakashi to give it up.

They all knew what that Sharingan meant to him.

It was Obito's keepsake before his death. To Kakashi, it was like Obito's life continuing on through him.

Kakashi would probably rather die than hand it over.

But even so, the pressure from the Uchiha clan was always there.

"If it really can't be helped, I'll go talk to Mikoto…" Kushina thought for a long moment before speaking again. "Her husband is the head of the clan. If she's willing to help, there should be a chance for things to turn around."

"It might not be that simple." Minato shook his head, not believing it could be solved so easily.

Recovering a lost bloodline limit was the will of the entire Uchiha clan.

Even the clan head, without a truly suitable reason, probably could not convince everyone.

Otherwise, there was simply no way to persuade the clan.
