Chapter 50 - Chapter 50: Half a Year

Chapter 50: Half a Year

"Senior Orochimaru…" Minato let out a quiet sigh. "He really is a difficult opponent."

Right now, Orochimaru was at the peak of both power and fame.

As one of Konoha's Sannin, he held immense prestige within the village, and he was also in charge of one of the war fronts. Aside from not being as dazzling on the battlefield as Minato, everything about him was impressive. With his seniority and status layered on top, he was undeniably a formidable rival.

While the two of them were talking, footsteps suddenly sounded outside.

A moment later, Kakashi pushed the door open and froze when he saw who was inside.

"Sensei? Why are you here?" He stared at Minato, surprise written all over his face.

But what shocked him even more was Yuu.

Inside the room, Yuu and Minato sat across from each other, chatting with clear enthusiasm. The atmosphere was warm and animated, like two old friends who had not seen each other in years.

"What… is going on here?" Kakashi looked between them, momentarily dazed.

For a second, he even felt like the extra one.

"Maybe I shouldn't have come back," he thought.

"Oh, Kakashi."

Only then did Minato notice him. He smiled apologetically. "Sorry. We got so caught up talking that I didn't notice you come in."

"What were you two talking about?" Kakashi asked, curiosity rising.

"Just some rumors from inside Konoha," Minato replied with a smile, smoothly steering the topic away.

He chatted with Kakashi for a while, then found a chance to take his leave.

After Minato left, Yuu also made an excuse to depart, leaving behind the gift he had brought for Kakashi.

Kakashi was left standing there alone, still bewildered.

"Are they really both that busy?" he muttered, watching their backs disappear.

After that, Yuu and Minato gradually grew familiar.

They often discussed various matters related to Konoha, and the more they talked, the closer they became.

Minato's foundation in ninjutsu was already extremely deep. Among everyone around Yuu, Minato's mastery was easily the highest, to the point where he could even create techniques of his own.

As for Yuu, his accomplishments in many fields also earned Minato's admiration.

Aside from being relatively lacking in ninjutsu knowledge at first, Yuu seemed almost like a universal genius.

This was especially true when it came to development and governance.

That, more than anything, caught Minato off guard.

Strategic judgment could be explained as talent, but the other abilities felt like things that could only be sharpened through practice and experience.

Yuu was only nine years old. How could he possess such strong instincts for politics and governance?

Minato could not make sense of it.

But it did not stop him from valuing Yuu even more.

Just over a month later, news from outside the camp deepened that impression again.

A report arrived from Iwagakure's side.

Kumogakure's army had invaded the Land of Earth, only to walk straight into a trap and suffer heavy losses.

To cover the army's retreat, the Third Raikage stayed behind alone to hold the rear. He faced ten thousand Iwagakure shinobi by himself, fought for three days, and died from exhaustion.

When the news spread, the entire world was thrown into an uproar.

"Yuu really was right…"

Inside the camp, Minato listened to the report with a sense of awe.

Before any of this happened, Yuu had already predicted the direction the world was heading.

And now, the situation had unfolded exactly as Yuu had judged, almost without deviation.

That kind of judgment made Minato sigh in admiration.

After the Third Raikage's death, his son inherited the name A and became the Fourth Raikage.

From that point on, Kumogakure entered a period of recovery, losing its drive for outward expansion.

Gradually, the Ninja World began to calm.

Half a year later.

In front of a forest, Yuu stood alone.

In his hand, a dense mass of chakra gathered. Then he suddenly lunged forward.

Rasengan!

The swirling chakra burst into shape, and the moment it connected, the training dummy in front of him was obliterated. The destructive force far surpassed ordinary ninjutsu.

"Very good."

Not far away, Minato watched with a smile. "At this stage, you've already grasped the basics of the Rasengan. From here on, you just need consistent practice."

"As expected of you, Yuu. Reaching this level in a little over a month…"

He looked at Yuu with open amazement.

Over the past six months, beyond their constant exchanges, Minato had also taught Yuu ninjutsu.

As a medical ninja, Yuu was exceptional.

His medical ninjutsu was precise and effective, and in many areas he was far stronger than ordinary medical ninja.

But in other areas, he had been relatively lacking.

After all, his predecessor had only been an ordinary student who spent a few years at the Ninja Academy and learned only the basics. The foundation was decent, but it was not outstanding.

Minato's guidance made up for that perfectly.

In only half a year, Yuu had shored up those weaknesses, reaching a level comparable to a jonin in many respects.

For his age, that was already a stunning achievement.

"It's all thanks to your teaching, Minato sensei," Yuu said with a smile. "If it weren't for your patient guidance, I doubt I would have improved this quickly with anyone else."

"It goes both ways," Minato replied, shaking his head. "Now that your Rasengan training is basically finished, the next step is nature transformation."

"You have many options there, so take your time and think it through."

As early as half a year ago, when Minato first began teaching Yuu, he had tested Yuu's chakra nature.

The result had been shocking.

Yuu naturally possessed all five chakra natures. None were missing.

Minato and Kakashi had both been stunned.

Yuu, on the other hand, considered it normal.

After all, he was the successor to Karma. After being modified by the power of Kaguya's seal, he could be considered to possess a partial Ōtsutsuki body.

Given the Ōtsutsuki clan's affinity for chakra, having all chakra natures was perfectly reasonable.

"You mentioned last time that you want to learn the Flying Thunder God Technique," Minato said, looking at him.

"Yes." Yuu nodded.

Since he had managed to become Minato's student, the technique he wanted most was naturally the Flying Thunder God Technique.

It was an extremely rare space time ninjutsu, and the very foundation of Minato's strength.

Even later, when power levels continued to rise, it remained one of the few techniques that never became obsolete and could still play a decisive role.
