Chapter 2 - THE ALPHA WHO HATED ME

AMARIS STORME

I never prayed for a fairytale, despite being an Alpha daughter, I knew that kind of life wasn't meant for me.

I was the child my father didn't want, the daughter from a maid he had fucked, scratch that, I mean raped when he was drunk; against her will and took the child out of obligation.

He already had five son, he didn't really need a daughter. My mother had died during child birth so he was stuck with me.

I had no use to him, until now. When he was bankrupt and debt ridden, the Stormshadow pack was crumbling and in need of an alliance with a strong pack.

Having nothing else to offer the Gravemoon pack, my father offered me. His own daughter. In order to save his pack. To this alpha who just told me he wants nothing to do with me.

So, why does he wants to be mated to me?

"Read this," he tossed a file my way, still avoiding any form of eye contact with me.

"What is this my Alpha,"

"Don't you dare call me that," he snarled at me and I froze, startled by his harsh tone and aggression towards me.

I glanced at him, really looked at him, he didn't have a face of a monster, at least not during this time of the day. He has defined jawline, strands of gray hair which layered through his dark hair. His eyes were intense. He had a look that made you stare at him. He didn't look bad, not for his age, in fact he didn't look his age at all.

"What… should… I call you?" I asked my voice shaky afraid he would snap at me again. I was taught to address him as that, being his Luna.

"Call me what everyone calls me, Alpha Corvin," he paused and relaxed back in his chair, allowing his shoulder to rest on them. "Read through it, that would be your duty as Luna, I expect nothing less from you,"

I pulled the documents towards me, and read through, they were clause about how to maintain the pack house, how to address servant. How to act during official functions and then I got to a part that caught my gaze and my eyes widened. I scanned through it multiple times to be sure I wasn't blind.

"What does this mean Alpha Corvin?" I asked, turning the document to his direction and he scowled as he leaned in, squinting at the words.

"Exactly what is written there or can't you read?"

"I can," I swallowed the words heavy to say. "I don't understand what you mean by we would not have sex but I would have to bear your cub,"

My hands were twitching at the thought of whatever sick idea he had in mind.

I wasn't keen on having sex, but it was a thought I had come to terms with, my duty was to satisfy the alpha and part of that duty was having sex with him and bearing his offspring. But this, I had no idea what to make of it.

"Amaris," my name sounded so strange in his mouth, not bad, just strange. "I have no intention of having sex with you."

He stared at me, allowing his words to sink in before he continued, "I will have a doctor, inseminate my sperm into you, and you will bear my offspring that way,"

My jaw dropped, my heart sank. What kind of sick man is this?

"Why?" That was all the word that could come out of my mouth as I stared at him, he didn't respond immediately, our gaze met and for a second I could see a switch from the cold Alpha to someone more softer, but he shifted back to his cold gaze.

"What don't you understand with the fact that I don't want anything to do with you," he stood up and immediately I retreated back to my chair, he paused at my reaction.

But it wasn't because I was afraid of him. It was because that was usually how my father strode to me before he beat me. His hands would first curl my hair and he would say this words every time.

"You look so much like your mother, she was a low class woman but you have her beauty,"

And what would follow would be the slaps and kicking then ordering his guards to throw me in the dungeon for days with no food. While my brothers stop by and make mockery of how I looked like a disgusting maid.

Alpha Corvin stopped in front of me, "Stand up," he ordered, I didn't protest, I stood up and before him I looked so insignificant. I had to glance up to meet his glare.

"Amaris,"

"Yes… Alpha Corvin," I responded, my mouth dry and my eyes trying so hard to fight back the tears.

"I only need you to bear me an heir, when we get mated and I will set you free."

'Set free' the words echoed repeatedly in my head. This was suppose to be my freedom from the hell I once lived. Now I am being told I would be nothing but a breeder to the Alpha and he wouldn't even touch me because the sight of me disgusted him.

I couldn't hold back the tears, a drop flowed down my cheek followed by another, the Alpha stood staring at me as I gave in to my weakness. He didn't attempt to comfort me. He just stared at me.

"I would have Nia come show you to your room, she would be your personal maid and caretaker during your stay," he didn't wait for my response, he walked away and as soon as I heard the door shut behind him. I let the tears flow uncontrollably.

I wasn't crying because I was reduced to a breeder, no it wasn't that. I was crying because once again, I was the outcast. The one no one wanted. This had always been the story of my life and somehow, I thought this would change.

After what seemed like hours of wailing, the door open and a young lady strode in, she was about my age, had blue eyes. Wore a black and white maid outfit and had her hair up in a ponytail. She smiled at me and lifted me up from the chair I had sank back to sulk in my despair.

She ushered me to my room without saying a word, the room was bigger than the room I was used to but I didn't even have time to take it in. I sank on the bed and crawled into a ball. She helped me out of my shoes and placed the blanket over me.

"Luna Amaris, it will be all fine. The Alpha isn't wicked, he is just broken," she whispered and gave me one last pitiful glance before walking out.

The Alpha didn't seem like a broken man, he glared at me in hatred. He hated me and just wanted a breeder.

I replayed every sorry scene of my life that led me here as my eyes grew heavy and I let myself drift into sleep.

I wasn't sure how long I had slept when the pain struck.

It was sudden and brutal, right in the center of my chest, like something inside me had woken up angry. My breath caught. Heat spread under my ribs, pushing outward, stretching me from the inside. I curled into myself, fingers digging into the sheets.

It felt like something was trying to break through.

The room faded as darkness swallowed everything, and I found myself standing in it, barefoot, the pain still pulsing in my chest like a second heartbeat.

Two shadows stood ahead of me, they had the physique and build of men.

I could not see their faces, but I felt them. The pull inside me tightened, sharp and desperate and then I heard it.

Not around me, no this voice came from inside me. It sounded like me but had a violent tone.

The word slammed through my head.

Mate!

I staggered back, clutching my chest but the voice only grew louder, echoing through my bones.

Mate!

I looked at the shadow and their eyes lit up in the dark. They were Werewolves and with a deep voice that both echoed and reverberated me. They chorus not in a whisper but a resounding growl.

"Our mate,"
