In a dark void. Kaito could be seen floating naked as a man floated in front of him and the man began to speak to kaito.
"Very soon kaito…very soon, just follow the path that has been set out for you, only then will you be guaranteed success because once death takes you…there is but 1 choice you must make and that is to become death."
Kaito abruptly woke up as he panted and sweat trailed down his forehead as he put a hand over his chest.
"What the fuck was that?" He asked himself while still panting as he tried to remember the 'dream' he had.
"Who was that man? I couldn't see him but I could hear him." He placed a hand on his head as he tried to recall the memories but unfortunately he couldn't as he sighed.
"Well, there's nothing I can do. Status." He said, as a digital tab appeared in front of him.

He looked at his status plate as he put a hand on his chin.
"It seems I've not been taking my training seriously, I'm still the same pathetic kid I was years ago." He said as he stood up and began to stretch as the status tab vanished.
Kaito walked into the restroom and picked up his white toothbrush as he put some toothpaste on it and put the toothbrush in his mouth.
★
He walked out of the restroom with a white towel around his waist as he walked towards his drawer and took out a pair of boxers as he put them on.
He walked towards his closet and took out a black and white tracksuit as he put it on and he rushed out of his room and went down the flight of stairs that led to the lower floor of the mansion.
The maids greeted him as he did the same. He walked out of the mansion and out of the gates as he began his run around the village.
The Arcadia village was a relatively peaceful village. It houses a total of 100+ psykers amongst them was 1 S Ranker which was none other than Kenshiro Kuroyami and 11 A Rankers which were Taka, Yuta, etc.
The chance of a Rift appearing was as low as 37% which was pretty low compared to other neighbouring villages and towns.
As kaito continued his jog. The villagers greeted him as he waved towards them but suddenly he stopped and held his head as he heard a voice.
"Death is approaching."
Kaito panted as he thought more about what he had just heard.
"It's that voice again…where does it keep coming from?" He asked no one in particular when he suddenly heard a scream and he turned to the direction of the scream and ran there.
★
Once he got there, to his surprise there was a blue swirl of energy in front of him as his eyes widened in shock and fear.
"A Rift?!" He yelled in surprise as a group of green average heighted creatures wearing tattered clothes and holding daggers, came out of the Rift.
"Those are—" Before he could complete his sentence, the system identified the creatures and informed Kaito.

"Goblin scavengers?!" He yelled once again as the goblins turned to look at him as he flinched.
The goblins smirked at him as kaito inhaled and exhaled as he began to count the goblins.
"I count 30 of them…which means this is a low level Rift. If I can defeat these goblins then the Rift will close up…calm down Kaito, you've been training for this day."
He said to himself as he took out a silver sword from a blue mini vortex. This was the inventory and every awakened human with a system has it.

Birds had long since fled this cursed spot, and the only sound now was the slow groaning of the blue rift pulsating in front of Kaito like a bleeding wound in reality.
A portal. A Rift.
The goblins shrieked, sniffed the air like wild dogs, and scampered across the field, encircling the lone figure who dared to stand against them.
That figure was Kaito.
Level 4.
No special title. No enchanted gear. Just a plain E-Rank steel sword clutched tight in his gloved hands. It gleamed faintly beneath the overcast light.
A thin streak of polished silver against the murky backdrop of green-skinned savagery.
Sweat trailed down Kaito's jawline, dripping into the collar of his tracksuit.
He had no time to think about the ache in his legs, the soreness in his arms, or the tremble in his shoulders. His breathing came heavy, chest rising and falling like the tides, each second a countdown to death.
They were waiting.
Watching.
"Tch." Kaito hissed, adjusting his stance. His back foot slid a few inches in the dirt, grounding himself.
A single goblin screeched.
The pack surged.
He met the charge head-on.
Kaito dashed forward, blade raised, cutting clean through the air. The first goblin leapt toward him with its dagger, but it was too slow.
Kaito's sword sliced through its chest in a diagonal arc — blood sprayed, warm and coppery — and the monster dropped with a twitching snarl.
Another goblin lunged from the side. Kaito twisted his body, deflecting the crude blade with his shoulder guard and driving his sword backward into the creature's abdomen.
He spun, dragging the blade free and catching a third in the neck. His foot stomped forward, body crashing like a wave.
But numbers were unforgiving.
A rock slammed into his ribs. A dagger sliced the flesh of his thigh. He grunted, staggering back as five more goblins swarmed.
He ducked, rolled sideways, and gasped as another blade nicked his cheek.
Kaito's sword cut upward in a savage arc, taking off an arm, then plunging downward to skewer a goblin straight through the eye.
Still, they came.
The scavengers fought like pack animals — wild and relentless — tearing, biting, clawing. Kaito's armor was smeared in blood and grime.
His sword grew heavier with each swing. His heart pounded like a war drum.
He gritted his teeth.
A goblin leapt onto his back.
Kaito roared, flipping the creature over his shoulder and smashing it into the earth. Another slashed at his leg; he kicked it square in the jaw, hearing the bone snap. His sword drove down. Then again. And again.
Five more down.
Still twenty left.
