Chapter 3 - An unexpected meeting

Chapter Three

Information Paragraph

Did you know that in the human world there are only five dragons?

Ari, Kaith's sister, is considered the only one among her siblings who is a "complete dragon." That is because Kaith's father, the king, had her with a shadow dragoness, while the rest of his siblings were born from the human queen.

For this reason, Kaith's mother hated her. Every time she looked into her eyes, she remembered that dragoness, and hatred would arise in her heart.

Each of the five dragons established their own kingdom, except for one dragon—Arblex. Arblex was the strongest of the dragons because he combined light and darkness, earning the title of "Half Ruler." Despite his immense power, he was lazy. In the past, he managed to defeat "the other Half Ruler," which was darkness itself—a legendary ruler whose authority collapsed for mysterious reasons, before being sealed by Arblex.

A dragon year equals 100 human years. For an ordinary dragon, humans are considered insects. A noble dragon's single year equals 1000 human years, while a royal dragon is immortal in terms of lifespan.

When we talk about physical appearance, a human needs a year to change their appearance or reach maturity, while dragons were not mentioned in this regard.

Beginning of Events

In the morning, Kaith was reading a newspaper.

Kaith: "A newspaper?! What's going on… I heard they only publish these during major events. Hm… This was issued only two days ago. It isn't old yet."

Newspaper Content:

The daughter of the former king, who fled and abandoned the kingdom, has been arrested. She was captured by the Salvation Legion and will be executed in only three days after it was proven that she was responsible for sabotaging the last invasion against the Vessel of Darkness, Iris.

Kaith closed the newspaper while grinding his teeth.

Kaith: "That idiot… Does she want to die?! Wait… This didn't happen in my previous life. How did this happen?! No time to think… I only have one hour to act!"

Execution Grounds

The scene was transmitted through magic to the public.

Commander of the Salvation Legion, Arnk:

"In only half an hour, the girl Ari Aztherion, daughter of the former king—the dragon Aztherion—will be executed."

The soldiers began staring at the sky.

Soldier: "What is that?! Is that a dragon? Has Aztherion returned?!"

Another soldier: "Idiot! That's smaller than Aztherion… And Aztherion is dead!"

The Vice Commander whispered anxiously:

"Sir Arnk… I feel something like a meteor of rage approaching. Let's execute her now before it's too late. That will guarantee our victory!"

But Arnk stopped him.

Arnk: "Wait… If we execute her while he's here, we will lose his will. But he has returned… that old friend. Good… we will break his will before his eyes!"

The Appearance

After only a few seconds…

Soldier: "Meeeeeteor!"

Another soldier: "No! That's not a meteor… It's a monster!"

Black flames mixed with deep blue pierced the sky, glowing so intensely that villagers could see it from thousands of meters away. Within moments, it crashed into the ground.

The flames vanished… and a man appeared with white skin, black hair, black horns, and yellow eyes with dark edges. His features spoke of rage, and his clothes carried royal prestige.

He shouted loudly while staring at the execution platform:

Kaith:

"I am Kaith Aztherion! I say it now… If even a single strand of my sister's hair is touched, I will kill you all and become one of the catastrophes of this kingdom!"

The Moment of Reunion

Ari slowly opened her eyes. She saw a glimmer of hope in the form of her middle brother, Kaith. Tears streamed down her face as she realized he was standing alone against an army of thousands of soldiers just for her.

Kaith: "Ari… Don't worry. I will save you as quickly as possible."

Ari (crying): "Brother… I don't want to die!"

The Beginning of the Battle

Arnk shouted:

"Cut off her head now!"

The executioners raised their swords.

Kaith shouted, but he immediately launched himself with insane speed toward the platform, releasing his black flames at them.

A black inferno erupted—a fiery winter that devoured everything in its path.

Kaith stepped forward, his voice tearing through the field:

"So this is how you treat someone who was once your friend, Arnk?! Have you forgotten who saved you from starving to death?! Who raised your rank with his own hands?! Who gave you food and power?! Is this how you repay me?!"

Arnk stood tall and responded:

"Are you trying to portray yourself as the righteous one here? If your father had been wiser, the kingdom wouldn't have drowned in disasters! Don't place the blame on me!"

Kaith shouted sharply:

"And what is my fault for being the son of a bastard?! Your father was a traitor—have you forgotten?! Did I kill you back then?! Did I sentence you to execution?! On the contrary… I accepted you as a brother, as my right hand… But you are ungrateful! Today… I will kill you and your soldiers! Their lives were in your hands seconds ago… but with your own words, you sentenced them to annihilation!"

Kaith launched forward like a hurricane. Within minutes, hundreds of soldiers fell.

Kaith stopped in front of Arnk for a few seconds… then the battle began.

Arnk spun at incredible speed behind Kaith, but Kaith blocked his attack with even greater speed.

However, Arnk's deputy betrayed Kaith and pierced his chest with a sword.

Kaith used his regeneration ability, leaving them in shock.

But Kaith would not wait for them to understand who they were facing. He cut off the deputy's head and turned toward Arnk.

Arnk recovered from his shock and barely avoided the attack. But he did not surrender. In the middle of the battle, he surrounded his sword with magic and attacked Kaith.

The attack struck Kaith and pushed him backward noticeably.

Kaith inhaled sharply… and used his own magic, but on a far greater scale.

He advanced toward Arnk and, with a single strike, cut him into two halves.

The execution ground turned into hell.

Kaith freed his sister Ari and turned toward the remaining soldiers, who trembled in terror… then fled.

On that day, it was declared that the Salvation Legion suffered the greatest defeat in its history… at the hands of a single person.
