Calamity shattered the black spikes with fury, colorless blood spilled but he was undeterred. His gaze locked onto Bunnygirl.
Obsession. Hunger. Power.
Bunnygirl stood her ground, chest high and shaking. Her legs almost buckled.
"You have to stall him," Variable said behind her. "It's time to show the world you're a true hero."
Bunnygirl knew what she had to do. She had to be fast.
"Don't look at me like that," she said, stepping forward.
Her voice trembled, but the flame in her chest didn't. "I'm not scared of you."
Calamity tilted his head, a beast studying defiant prey then lunged.
She leapt to the side, narrowly avoiding a clawed swipe. The sheer force cracked the ground beneath her.
(Move!)
She vaulted over a collapsed pillar, using her rabbit legs to launch mid-air.
(Run. Buy time.)
Calamity chased relentlessly.
Viir swooped in, launching a black spike through his throat. "Tehe~ Gurgle on that!"
Calamity crushed the spike. It shattered like glass. He resumed the chase. Ignoring his own pain. His own bleeding.
Urithax slammed into him, pinning him to the ground.
But Calamity's power surged. The more damage he took, the weaker he became. He grabbed Urithax by the face and hurled the dragon into the rubble.
Syrethe wrapped around him, fangs sinking deep.
Fenrus darted in jaws locking onto Calamity's bleeding neck.
Apex landed beside Bunnygirl, firing blasts into Calamity's legs with his arm cannon.
"What are you doing?!" Apex's voice was sharp.
"We have to stall him," Bunnygirl panted.
"We can do that. We- "
"No. I won't let anyone else die." She met his gaze. "This is my world. My life. I'm a hero!"
Calamity burst free, flinging the spirit beasts aside. He charged at her.
Bunnygirl kicked Apex out of the way as Calamity's clawed hand came down, aiming to kill.
Rhenvar emerged from her shadow.
His bloodied fist collided with Calamity's jaw, knocking the hulking creature back.
"Rhenvar…" she breathed.
"You annoying pest!" Calamity roared.
Rhenvar, staggering and soaked in blood, charged again.
Calamity grabbed him by the head and slammed him into the ground.
Again.
And again.
(No. Rhenvar! I can't-)
Bunnygirl moved. She jumped and kicked Calamity in the head with every ounce of strength she had left.
Calamity staggered, Rhenvar's limp body tossed aside like a piece of trash.
But the red hulking monster couldn't advance.
Glowing barriers snapped into place, caging him in radiant light.
Sinephilim and Aucteros stood together, magic and super power surging.
Black spikes rose beneath Calamity, pinning his legs. Draining his life force. Viir danced mid-air, like a crimson ballerina as she sang to herself.
Bunnygirl turned toward Rhenvar.
He was still moving, dragging himself toward the golden blaze that was Willow.
Calamity was in range now.
(This is it.)
(This decides the fate of my world.)
