Lu Cang didn't bother with pleasantries and asked directly, "If I become your Disciple, will I be required to worship you completely?"
Luoti shook her head. "Of course, I won't restrict your freedom of worship."
"I imagine a being such as yourself... would also be unwilling to become the subordinate of some Divine Spirit."
Lu Cang had only entered the Deep Land by chance.
He had no prior connection to her. Luoti understood that a being like Lu Cang wouldn't casually start worshipping a Divine Spirit he had just met.
Turning him into one of her devout followers was basically impossible.

However, if she did that, Lu Cang would likely lose his potential for growth.
Growth in this world requires the ability to think, and forcibly controlling someone is tantamount to stripping them of that ability.
