The Divine Runes of the Ascension Divine Altar were incredibly formidable; every inch of the place was covered in offensive runes. Once the assault began, hiding was useless.
The National Preceptor also quickly retreated from the Ascension Divine Altar. While the attacks had a limited effect on him, even he wouldn't be able to withstand a continuous, prolonged assault.
