After You Si safely put Qin Qianning down, he was about to make a move on the still-running Spirit Beast.
But just then, Qianning said sadly, "The apple got crushed. I can't eat it now, and my brother's going to be mad at me."
You Si looked at Qianning and handed her the apple from before, as well as a skewer of candied hawthorns. "Here, this is for you."
To be honest, You Si was terrified the moment he offered her the food. He was afraid she would refuse.
He wasn't a "clean" person. No one would think that something he'd been carrying was edible.
But he had taken great care to preserve the apple and the candied hawthorns. He guaranteed they were safe to eat.
He just didn't know if anyone would believe him.
Qianning shook her head. "I can't. My brother doesn't let me take food from other people."
You Si was a little disappointed.
Still, he said, "You gave me the apple, and... and I'm giving you the candied hawthorns. Doesn't that make us even?"
