Before Ariana could leave the territory, rogues attacked.

He had killed her mother and framed Rowan.
"Give us the Luna," he sneered. "Or die."
Kael and Rowan shifted instantly.
They fought side by side.
Protecting her.
Bleeding for her.
Ariana felt something awaken inside her.
Power.
Moonlight burst from her body.
Shadows and silver flames surrounded her.
She screamed.
"Leave us alone!"
The rogues were thrown back.
Defeated.
But Kael collapsed, badly wounded.
Ariana rushed to him.
"Don't die," she cried.
Rowan knelt beside them. "Save him. You're stronger than you know."
Ariana placed her hands on Kael's chest.
"I choose you," she whispered.
Light exploded.
Kael's wounds healed.
He opened his eyes.
