Chapter 6 - Chapter 6

Several hours later… again

Sean popped up when he heard three solid knocks on the door.

He wiped his eyes. "Hold on, I'm coming." As he opened the door, he saw a young woman with glasses holding a box a bit too large for her.

"Please take it," she said in a squeaky voice; her knees were beginning to buckle underneath her. I can't hold it much longer.

"Oh yeah, right," Sean said, grabbing the box. "Oh my. How do you carry this?" He put the box on the ground in front of her.

"We train for this," the young woman said as she put her feet together and gave him a firm salute. "Dreamweaver Society Postal Service is here to serve everyone. We must get packages here on time and keep the operation running. We must keep everything running efficiently if we're going to make it and destroy the demons. If you don't have what you need, I get yelled at. My emotions are fragile. I'm trying to get salvation as well."

Sean glared at the young woman in the long blue slacks with a white button-up shirt. She wore a blue and white hat on her head that was round with an eagle on it. Sexy Uniform… no, I can't be thinking like that. "Wait, so you can earn salvation as well by working in a post office?" Sean looked puzzled at the woman. She looked back at him with her eyes wide open.

"They didn't tell you." Her lips quivered ever the sightliest as if she wanted to say something, but she turned around and went back to her cheerful demeanor. "It's not my place. Everyone always told me when I got here, all will be revealed in time. Do your best, and I hope to see you around."

Sean was trying to get the words out of his mouth, but he was still in a sleepy slumber. "What's your name?"

"It's Melody," she spoke. Her long dark pigtails waived in the morning as he noticed two small dark spots on her back. "Till next time, do your best, Mr. Dreamweaver."

Sean tried to yell back his name, but the words didn't seem to leave his lips. Right, my name is on the box. She knows my name. But there's a horrible first impression. I want to tell her so much more. I had questions. What about earning your salvation through the post office? I can't wrap my mind around all of this.

Sean sat there looking at the heavy box. He took a deep breath. My time is running out. I need to get to the training grounds soon. Maybe there is something in the box to give me a clue.

Bringing the box inside, he sat on his sofa and opened it. It's a small blue book with gold writing on it. It had his name and where his destiny could change at a moment's notice.

"How poetic," Sean said, putting the notebook aside. Digging into the box, he found a gray pair of slacks that looked like a business suit, white shirt, black belt, and a long cape to wear along with it. Looks quite fancy, especially for a date. At the bottom of the box was a picture of how to wear the outfit. "I know how to wear a suit," Sean scoffed, putting the instruction aside.

I feel like of secret agent with this out. He was curious about the size, so he looked at the tags. He saw an S on it.

There's a small sticky note from Samantha in red. Of course, we know your size, silly.

Sean took a moment to laugh. Disrobing quickly, he put on the suit, which included a bright red tie. Walking in front of the mirror, he noticed how striking it looked. Now, this is what I'm talking about. It's custom fit, too. No part of the outfit is too tight. I could never afford clothes like these on Earth. The Goddess Anastasia wants me to succeed, especially since they are providing me with this type of gear.

Sean looked in the box saw a pair of brown gloves and brown loafers. There was a note attached. Upon completion of initial training, you will be given a weapon of choice. Your weapon will be an extension of yourself, but you will be evaluated by the head staff in the training facility. Upon a successful evaluation, the staff then will decide what would be the best weapon of choice on your journey to salvation.

Sean moved over at the clock and read 6:45 a.m. Looking back through the box to make sure there wasn't anything wrong, he heard birds chirping. Running toward the windowing opening his eyes once again gazed in awe. It looked like something out of his wildest dreams. There were towers made of gold that reached into the sky. Dragons flying to and fro. It was as if there was an interstate in the sky made of people flying.

Sean walked out the door fully dressed and looked to the left and the right for assistance.

"Hello, you," Samantha said with a smile.

Sean looked up to see his Guardian Angel who was twenty feet up above him, flying in a circle.

Descending from the sky like a dove, her feet gently touched the ground. "Like I said, I'm not going to let you fail. I will show you how to get there. The rest will be up to you."

Sean nodded, stepping back at the beauty of Samantha. "Good morning, and thank you."

"Now, I want you to close your eyes and lean forward as if you were going to fall flat on your stomach," Samantha said.

"Why would I do that?" Sean mused.

"Do it." Samantha grunted. You're going to be late."

Sean closed his eyes and mumbled, "You'd better be right."

"Here we go," Samantha said as she smiled, walking behind him. She caught Sean right before he fell to the ground, raising him up into the air.

Sean saw the ground beneath them disappear. "Oh my gosh, oh my gosh. We're gonna die, I'm gonna die!"
